Character Meals--Reorganize!

I think they should reorganize the character meals. Why do we have TWO princess meals? I think they should have the princesses at one, and a "Neverland" meal at the other (Cap Hook, Smee, Peter, Wendy, Tink).

In addition, instead of so many meals with some variation of the fab 5...one meal should be Pixar-type characters (Mr & Mrs. Incredible, Monsters, Inc, Ratatouille, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt, etc.) and I DEFINITELY think we need one Pirate meal...Jack & gang...eat on trenchers and drink from goblets...learn "pirate speak" , etc. Aaaaarrrggghhhh!

Boy, I'd spend a million dollars on character meals if they'd make them each different like that.

I would take another Disney trip soley for a Toy Story/Incredibles/Monsters Inc. meal. Hands down.

Disney/Pixar is leaving money on the table on this one. Especially with that new space at Hollywood Studios. That would be the perfect place for something like this.

Here, here OP!

I've said it on MANY, MANY threads - They NEED a more boyish character meal. Peter Pan, Pirates, Monsters, Toy Story, Incredibles, I don't care what, just something more than the classics and princesses!

I think 2 princess venues are needed (I'm not counting 1900 PF).
The castle can't possibly keep up with demand (thus the prices and difficulty getting ADR's. I remember walking up to King Stefan's on every trip, but that's not an option any longer.) Yet the castle is the single best location for a princess meal for obvious reasons.
Akershus helps take up the princess demand slack. (Even counting some of us nuts who go to both. FYI, I enjoyed Akershus more, so I'm not implying that it is just 2nd best.)

Yes, it would be nice to add another character meal or two. I love the Neverland idea, as that could include a fairy and boy characters, and also the Pixar idea, but the princess meals are still needed, and will be, unless princesses become vastly less popular, in which case someone at Disney is not doing his or her job!

I read awhile back that they are making a pirate themed restaurant near the Pirates ride. In fact, I was told that in the "celebration" commercial, where you see a little boy celebraint his b-day with a pirate hat on...thats the place. Not sure when it is to open, but this was siad by one of the Fairy godmothers in training from BBB. I'm actually surprised it hasn't opened yet, because it's been awhile since I heard this. Of course it could be a rumor.

I agree, we need more and better characters especially something for boys

I would go for a Pirate meal in a second. For my DS's 4th b-day we had to do dinner with Shamu, cause Disney didn't have a character meal that interested him

Some "gender-neutral" character meals would be terrific. I like everyone's ideas! :)

Oh....I hope this is true! Our whole family would love a pirate themed restaurant!

I have been hoping for a pirate character meal forever. I hope those rumors are true. I was so excited when CBR came out with the pirate rooms. Dont get me wrong; I think the princess stuff is all great and I love it, but being the mother of just 1 boy it is great to see them included in all the fun!pirate:

Wow, I like all the OP's ideas. I have 3 boys and they're getting a little old for Pooh. They'd LOVE pirates or any of the pixar characters!

I am so happy to read this post. I have been so frustrated with Disney for this very reason. There are really 3 princess meals if you count 1900. When it comes to what is good for boys, it is always suggested CM. CM is fine and all and who doesn't love to see Mickey and the gang in Disney, but it is just not the same. The girls get to go and dress up like princesses and really pretend to be a princess for the evening, but the boys get nothing. My son would love to dress as a pirate and pretend to be a pirate along with the characters. The Neverland idea is great too. They could dress as a pirate or peter pan or even just pretend to be one of the lost boys. I am always amazed that Disney has failed at this for so long and I think it is even more ridiculous when they add things like pixie hollow, making that whole character meet and greet tent fairies and princesses.

Love the idea of a Neverland/Pirate theme and I have two girls! Tink is so popular right now that the girls would love it, but I really like the idea of a more "gender neutral" character dining experience.

And STAR WARS! Why can't Darth and co show up at a meal? My boys would eat there every day!!!!
I have no girls, and I feel the boys are forgotten a lot.
Princesses are such a moneymaker for Disney, but they are missing the boat with the boys.

I agree with you all. Disney is definitely missing the boat on this. I love the princesses along with my daughter but I would LOOOVE a toy story or Monster's Inc meal. The pirate theme would definitely be a true money maker.:cheer2:

oh this would just make the perfect trip! I love Star Wars and Disney, but have not had the chance to make it to Star Wars weekends. If there was a character meal, it would make it soooo much easier for everyone to experience!

LOL
We are planning a surprise trip for my little Jedis in June for SWW.
I just wish they would make a bigger deal about SW than they do. Lots of missed money there...:happytv:

I agree that they need a character meal that is more geared toward boys, but I disagree that a pirates meal would be the best choice.

Pirates walking around being friendly & greeting you while you are eating is just not accurate as far as the ride & the movies go. Pirates are not really meant to be friendly. I also think they might scare some kids.

I would go with a Toy Story meal.:thumbsup2
