We are going in May and I'm trying to think of some good character meals for ds he will be 4 at the time of the trip (it will be his b-day trip.) I know he would not like it if has princes at it. Does disney do just boy meals like they do CRT? if not I think they should. Thank you for your help.

They have the pirates and princess thing now. Not sure what it is, still have to look into it. But boys do love the breakfasts at Cape May Cafe and Chef Mickeys is also a good choice.

The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom has Pooh and friends. We go every time we go to Disney and my seven year old son still loves it. He also likes the restaurant in The Land (my mind is blanking out on me for the name) in Epcot. They have Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale dressed like farmers.

Yes, The Garden Grill! I don't know why I couldn't think of it. It's is cool with the characters, the rotating and cupcake decorating. Our waiter showed us a hidden Mickey once so now we have to search for it every time.

Hey, my 6'4" DS15 specifically requested the Crystal Palace! The food is good, and there's lots of it. (Plus DD7 loves the Pooh characters.) We'll be eating at the Garden Grill (the one in the Land ;) ), too.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is another great one for boys. DS15 requested that one, too, but we're not going to make it there this time.

My DS, then 5 1/2, loved this one (The Garden Grill) as well! - We actually booked a second meal there another day of our trip. Besides the characters dressed as farmers, it slowly rotates through the upper part of the sets from the Land ride, and he got to decorate his own cupcake for dessert.

My neighbor's son (slightly older) likes Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdon. I haven't been there in a long time, but I think it was Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and Meiko (the raccoon from Pochahontas) when we went to it.

Hi! Depending on if he still watches playhouse disney, how about the one at MGM? My then 3.5 yo DS (His 4th birthday is next week) loved seeing his favorite Little Einsteins. JoJo and Goliath were there too. Also, at least at breakfast, every once and a while (15 minutes? half an hour?) they put on music and the kids can get up and dance around.

Play & Dine at Hollywood and Vine at disney MGM was GREAT (we just got home yesterday!) The food was hands down the BEST at any character meal, and the singing and dancing was great fun. Both my twins (boy and girl) had a blast.

Other good character "boy" meals--try Garden Grill at the Land epcot (food was decent) and Crystal Palace at MK w/ Pooh & Friends (2nd best food by far).

thank you all with your help. Of knew of some places but I do not that there was that many, so thank you so much you all have been alot of help :cool1:

I have to ditto Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. We did CM's for both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed ourselves both times. We recently shifted our planned WDW trip to DL in CA to add in time with my parents in San Diego. The one thing my DS (age 12) was upset about was that we weren't going to get to the Pooh breakfast at WDW! He's always been a big Pooh fan.
My younger son was really into Donald when he was younger. I've heard that boys really like Breakfastasaurus (sorry for the spelling!!), which features Donald, in AK.

Chef Mickey's is a great place to go for breakfast.... lots of food and it's great to wake up knowing your going to see Mickey in an hour or so. :cool2:

I agree with all the places listed.

Crystal Palace (for the Pooh gang and parades) ,Chef Mickey (for Mickey gang and parades), Garden Grill (slowly rotating restaurant, Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale "Farmer" theme), Hollywood Vine (if into JoJo, Little Einsteins). At AK they have Donald's Breakfastosaurus (Donald Duck and gang). Also the Liberty Tree Tavern at dinner has the Mickey Gang.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the breakfast with Lilo, Stitch and Mickey at Ohana. It's great fun too.

We liked the Breakfast Ohana also. Character Dining is huge for us. So we've tried alot. I think the AK's Restaurantosaurus is great for boys too. I heard a rumor that they were going to make a boys character dining experience with Toy Story characters, but I don't have any idea if that's true. Maybe just wishful thinking!

Our DS (almost 6) requested Chef Mickey's. We are also goig to try Liberty Tree for the first time. CP is a tradition now.

We are also going in May with a our two boys - ages 4 and 18 months. We have booked the following: Crystal Palace breakfast (for the baby), Chef Mickey's breakfast, and Ohana Breakfast with Stitch. Our boys are early risers and tend to do better at breakfasts than they do dinners. We have done CP and CM in the past and both are fantastic. For dinners we are doing Liberty Tree character dinner and Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge (not a character meal, but looks like its a blast nonetheless). We passed on doing the Hollywood and Vine with the Little Einsteins (you can meet them in the park also) because we have some major toy story fans and Pizza Planet is a must when we go to MGM. Regardless, there are plenty of options to consider.

I think we are going to breakfasts because DS eats more in the morning then any other time. I think that is his big meal for the day lol. I think we are going to do 2 breakfast the Hollywood Vine and Ohana then do 1 diner or lunch at SF. Thank you all for your help.:hippie:

My boys favorites are Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Tavern and Chef Mickey's. Ohana's breakfast & Donald's breakfastsarous is also very well enjoyed.

My DS at 4 HATED Crystal Palace (Pooh); he had just entered the "that's for babies/girls" stage. They didn't have the Jo-Jo one at that time, but I can imagine he wouldn't have been too thrilled with it either. Y

ou might try Mickey's backyard BBQ .

I think you should try a Pooh breakfast or just something with Mickey and the gang. I think there's a safari themed breakfast at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I'd call Disney in any case, just to see what (or who) is where. Have a good time, whatever happens...your son will have so much fun!!! Also, if you go to Magic Kingdom, ride Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin...it's a really cool "boy's ride".

My 7 yo loved the one at AK, Liberty Tree, and Ohana, though now that lil sis is 2 we have to split to try to make both happy. At 3 does he watch Jo Jo and Little Einsteins?? That is a good one too. My DS requested that one for his sister. Lots of dancing and playing!! Loads of fun!! Though I would love to see one strictly for boys!! Have a great trip!!:tinker:
