I am taking DH to Disney World for his first time in Sept. He is a 12-yr-old trapped in a 36-yr-old body. I want him to get a great taste of Disney magic by taking him to some wonderful character meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, it doesn't matter). We have 10 days, so I am not limited on time!!! He would have loved the villain meal, but I hear that no longer exists. :(

Any suggestions?

Also...his fav characters are from Monsters Inc...since there are no character meals with these guys, where can we spot them?

Thanks very much for the input. :teeth:

I recommend Crystal Palace for breakfast. The characters there are Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. Hollywood and Vine had a great character breakfast, but I don't think they do theirs any longer. Those are the only two I recommend as I haven't done any others. Definitely do Crystal Palace for breakfast...it's a don't miss! :p :o I'm sure others will give you some other places to dine for character meals, but I hope I helped with Crystal Palace. I'm a Tigger fan and that was a definite must for me. :jester:

We just ate at the Crystal Palace for lunch on Tuesday, and it was great! We did this character lunch a couple of years ago, and we really enjoyed it this time, too. The food was really good, and the character interaction and festive atmosphere are wonderful. My 5-year-old daughter was selected to be "Chef of the Day" and got to decorate a Mickey-shaped cake with whipped cream and sprinkles, and the characters helped her with it! I think your husband would enjoy this character meal.

Hi there...

Don't feel bad about there not being a villains dinner... I took my daughter to one at the GF - because I thought it sounded like fun.. but you know what?

She did not like these characters...(I mean - they ARE bad guys) the whole meal I was worried she was going to slug one of them.. lol (expecially the pocohontis guy - she gave him an earful about his bad ways and he just stood there nodding his head or shrugging his shoulders.)

The meals where she liked the characters - where MUCH more fun! What was I thinking??

If I were you I would take hubby to see the beautiful princesses and have your camera ready for some great photos of them kissing him. (They will leave big lipstick marks on his cheek)

You can do this at EPCOT or Magic Kingdom.

Have fun planning your trip.

We never miss the Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast. To us, it's the ultimate Disney eating experience...and if it's his first visit, it's a real "don't-miss-it!"
We also love Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner.

On my first ever trip to WDW last NOv. I Loved and wil do again Chef Mickey's We did Brfst. Prob would do dinner here next time.
Liberty Tree Tavern. I personally didn't care for 1900 Park Fare but it could have just been timing of it.

we have done everything but the new princess breakfast & the garden grove...our favorite breakfasts are Crystal Palace & Brekfastosaurus & I think our favorite dinner would have to be Liberty Tree- Chef Mickeys was our original favorite but we didnt love it so much the 2nd time around. My personal favorite is when the characters are dressed up!!! Have fun!:D

DH's (34) favorite is the Chef Mickey's character breakfast!!!! Mine is Crystal Palace breakfast although Winnie the Pooh isn't too "manly"!!! :p

I vote for Chef Mickey's, but do it for dinner your first night. It is a wonderful intro. to WDW with the classic Disney characters (Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip & Dale). You can take a monorail ride before or after dinner and if it's dark, it's great to see the resorts all lit up. Have a great time!

Mike & I loke a lot is the, often overlooked, Beach Club Breakfast. Goofy, Chip & Dale, Pluto and usually Minnie Mouse in their old fashened beach outfits. The place is small and there's lots of interaction. The food is good too!

The only breakfast I have experience with is 1900 Park Fare which was very good. DH isn't a Disney fan but really enjoyed it. When we go in FEb we will be doing as many as we can because we will have our kids with us and who knows when we will go back. I think it would be great to see your DH with the Princesses. I am going to be doing this one , or at least I hope I can get a PS, and I can't wait for all the photo ops between my DH, DS and my dad!!

We just were at Donalds Breakfastasourus and it was great. The characters were very nice and the food was fabulous. There was Donald, Mickey, Goofy and I think Pluto. We also were at Chef Mickeys for dinner, pretty good food had Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale. At Park Faire for dinner ther was Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (the mice) and Fairy Godmother, food was pretty good. Crystal Palace for dinner there was Pooh , Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore, again food pretty good. Also went to the Princess Storybook breakfast at EPCOT, ther was Belle, Mulan, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, and Mary Poppins.
Monsters, Inc. characters are at the Studios, they have a spot to greet and take pictures right next to the ABC Commisary but do not sign autographs.

Thanks!
I will consider all of your suggestions...although my husband made it clear ahead of time that he is NOT interested in the princess meals. Seems like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are two favorites. I also heard great things about the ice cream social at the Garden Grill.

I appreciate all of your help!

I would recommend the Liberty Treet Tavern and if your going to Animal Kingdom have breakfast at Donald's Restonasaurus. Donald, Mickey, Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale are usually there. Your son will love it, I'm 32 and I had a blast LOL!!!
