a few question on this, has anyone done the lunch at cowboy cookout? What characters r there? What food like? Best time to book? Aubergeins best time to book? Cafe mickey breakfast bn a while since we done this, what are current prices?? What time r the sitting for this? And finally inventions going to do this our last nite as a treat for my 30th going to order b-day cake more for the girls benefit than mine honest:rolleyes what the best time to book this also? What kinda cake is it?

We always like to book Inventions for when it opens at 6pm - in the past we've found it's very quiet then so the character interaction (and the food :rotfl2: ) is all yours however on our last trip at end of May it was fairly busy even at 6pm.

I can't help with the birthday cake as we've never had one here - even though it was my birthday the last time we ate here. I like their desserts too much and IMO Inventions is expensive enough without paying extra for a cake and then not being able to do the puddings justice. :rotfl:

If it was me, I'd eat at Inventions another night and instead of going to Cafe Mickey for breakfast I'd eat there for dinner on your last night and order a cake there instead of dessert.

thanks elaine, we have done the cake at cafe mickey b4 for the girls birthdays and tbh i wasnt that impressed it was €24 i think and same cake is €10 in tesco! Dd2 had a small piece but the rest went in the bin! I wouldnt normal b a dessert person either. It more the fuss of the cake and the character the girl would enjoy! We are planning on doing cafe mickey our 1st nite anyway, the breakfast isnt a def yet just though it might b nice on our last morning. I wonder can you get the b-cake at cowboy cookout???

I had a cake at Inventions a couple of years ago and it was really yummy but after eating one or two (or several) deserts it was quite a challenge to eat it.

There is a picture in my trip report but not sure if its the same now

They let us take it back to the room but was on a plate (we were staying in DLH that trip) as they couldnt box it up so to be honest it would be a waste if it was your last night.

Not sure about cakes at cowboy cookout as its counter service rather than table/buffet

We saw lots of cakes being brought out at cowboy cookout when we were there in May so I assume you can have it there and the characters certainly seemed to be making a fuss of those with birthdays. There was Woody, mickey, goofy, Minnie and Pluto, no Jessie unfortunately. It was dead quiet when we went although we had booked for 12.30 the reservation probably wasn't needed. It was good but not my favourite, seemed to be a bit disorganised with all the characters disappearing off together for long spells, rather than the way cafe mickey etc change them over, but it wasn't that long since it changed from counter service so they were maybe just finding their feet. Food was good though, but loads.

Not sure we will fit it in this time but would go back at some point.

Inventions is my favourite.

Enjoy wherever you end up.

thanks for the link a small world the cake does look gud!! Not sure what to do regards cake:confused: tink we will still do cowboy cookout as dd1 loves woody and jessie (hope she turns up for us) we hav put hav our nov trip bac to 1st wk in jan so dont want to do too many meet+greets in the cold.

We booked Inventions for 6.30 (which was the opening time when we were there last week) character interaction was really good, although Mickey & Pluto did miss coming into our section first time around. The food is fab :goodvibes. We got to meet Mickey, Eyeore (who was fab), goofy, pluto, chip & dale, the genie (who I've never seen before, he only came round once first thing in the evening & wasnt on the next 2 rotations whilst we were there, so not sure if he came out again) & Geppetto. This really was the highlight of our visit, I cant wait to go there again.

We also did the cowboy cook out - we walked up at 12pm at the end of a Tarzan show and got a walk in - this was last week - it was almost empty at that point, although by about 1.15 it was pretty full. I didnt really enjoy this character meal, it was all very chaotic with people milling around, grabbing the characters as they were on the way to the tables which meant that the characters kept missing sections of the room, we never got to meet pluto at all here. The characters were Woody, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto & Goofy. The food was ok, but it all comes together - starters, main & pudding. We used to love the Lucky nugget salon character meal and feel that this isnt anywhere near as good as a replacement. (only our opinion others seem to love it) Dont think we will be going back.

I hope you have a lovely visit
