Has anyone ever done Character Dining with adults only in their party?

We are a family of 4 adults, youngest being 24 and want to do a Character buffet dinner but are wondering if we will be the only ones there without little ones.

Anyone ever seen 4 grownups at a character meal before with no little children with them ??

Thanks!!

DH and I (ages 57 and 52) have been doing Crystal Palace's breakfast for the last five visits -- without kids (also took my BFF and her DH with us back in 2008 and did two character meals). There are plenty of "adults only" doing character meals.

Before we had kids, DH and I did character meals all of the time. I actually think that I enjoyed them more before we had the kids along for the ride.

DW and I have done them, but honestly we were usually one of the very few (if not the only ones). Never felt awkward though, it's Disney!

My mom and I did Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. We loved them both and did not feel uncomfortable. We took pictures and interacted with the characters. There were plenty of people like us. I say go and have a great time!

me and my DH are doing Crystal Palace for dinner on our upcoming trip and its just the two of us...
and on our last trip (which was also just us) we did Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner(when it had the characters). we liked it a lot and there were a lot of other adult only tables around us. we enjoyed getting pics with the characters and just the atmosphere in general...made our meal feel even more "Disney-Like":)

Thanks for all the tips.

We have never done a character anything other then a picture with all of us with Mickey at MK in Toontown in 1998 so this will be exciting. I didn't think we would be the only "kidless" ones but just had to throw it out there and see what the majority had to sayl

:goodvibesDH and I are going to 1900 Park Fare for my birthday. I love the characters and Cinderella is my favorite.

You will be the only adults there. Character dining is awful for the adults. They are all buffets with the food picked over and messy lines. The staff tries to clean up, but with all the kids they can't keep up. Not to mention kids are running around and screaming everywhere. We took my daughter to several last year when she was 2, and will limit it to no more than one per trip. Adults do not get to eat well, because you are chaseing the kids, and trying to get your kids to eat.

Sorry if that was your experience but we have been to almost every character meal on property and have never had any issues. The CM's do a great job of keeping the food replinshed and the food areas clean. The characters have given us the same amount of attention as the kids with the same photo ops and such. Crystal Palace and Cape May are favorites of ours. We usually hit 1-2 character meals per trip depending on how long we are there. And yes, we have enjoyed Chef Mickey's. We were there in Jan of this year to kick off my 40th bday celebration :)

We did 4 character meals on our honeymoon...

We both really enjoyed it. I prefer character meals over waiting in line to see the characters in the parks.

We do character dining too. I'm 47 and DH is 43. We love CP, Cape May and CM. We're trying Tusker House Breakfast too this trip

I second this. My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary last year and had a breakfast at the Crystal Palace (no kids). The waiter brought us out an anniversary card signed by the characters and made a cute fuss over us. It was a lot of fun. We're going back, sans kids, in December and my DH's only meal request was breakfast with Pooh again.

The only difference, for us, is that when we're just adults we may grab a quick photo with one or two characters, but generally when they stop at our table we'll just say "hi!" and wave them on to other tables with kids who are waiting.

We've done both Akershus and Cape May without kids (and Chef Mickey's, but that was so long ago that it wasn't even a buffet yet!). I have to say that some of the characters do seem a little unsure what to do with two adults, and we're shy people so we just kind of smile, picture, move on. But mostly they're great. Certainly the servers won't think you're weird, or whatever. We didn't have any problems with noise or uncleanliness or anything at either of them; the food was good, the characters were fun, and hey, there was air-conditioning.

Oh yes adults do these meals all the time.

It is just DH and myself (still waiting on God to bless us with children) and I love Crystal Palace. It is my favorite place to eat.
I love being in the MK, the cute atmosphere of the restaurant. It's kind of quaint, reminds me of the movie Mary Poppins. :cloud9:
Oh and the food is very good.
We never feel strange with the characters and enjoy getting pictures with them. DH loves to play into their antics and most of them really play back.

Go and enjoy!

My friends and I (a group of 20 and 30 somethings) do character dining every year! We love it and never feel out of place. We have dined at Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, and 1900 Park Fare numerous times and have a great time each year!

Here are two of my best friends with Drizella at 1900 Park Fare last year to go with danceintherain's Anastasia pic...

DW and I do a character breakfast on every trip! I haven't done a trip without one, and I'm not going to let not having kids stop me.

DD (26) and I do at least one character meal per trip. We have lots of fun with the interaction and the picture-taking!

I agree with you - the DH and I do Chrystal Palace every trip along with breakfast at Hollywood and Vine at the DHS and they have all been great. The food is good and we enjoy the characters and watching the kids there with the characters.

My DH and myself eat Character Meals all the time. We have done Crystal Palace and Cinderellas Royal Table. We have an awesome time and the food is always wonderful and the CM's treat us wonderfully. :goodvibes
