Hi all,

Another character breakfast question from me I am afraid.

We are considering 1900 Park Fare or Cape May for Joshua's first CB in August and want to get it booked now.
However, as we are now staying at the Boardwalk for part of our holiday we are entititled to the EMH etc, so I am possibly thinking Crystal Palace may be an option now.
Will it be quiet(ish) first thing in the morning at CP?
If you book CP are you allowed in the park early anyway, guess you must be...?

Cape May is probably the favourite as Beach Club is so close to the Boardwalk but whilst Josh cannot really relate to many of the characters, I think Winnie the Pooh, Tigger etc would be better than Mary Poppins or the Mad Hatter (who are at Park Fare I believe).

Just need to get the balance right betwen the right characters and finding somewhere not too loud and noisy for him.

I know I have posted a thread about this before where I got loads of useful advice, but just don't (for us) see the appeal of a CB unless there is a chance he will like the characters.

hi my son joshua is also autistic and he loves the winnie the pooh characters at crystal palace, we found chef mickey's a little to noisy for him he sat with his fingers in his ears the whole time. they let you into the park early for your breakfast but the lands are roped off until officlal opening time hope this helps.

of the 3 you mentioned, i most like cape may...
it's the quietest of the 3, and has a nice selection of characters.....although i'm having a hard time remembering which ones...i know Goofy's there....and i think also chip and dale...and maybe pluto?.....nice characters (i also don't like the real face people characters that they have at 1900 park fare)

my second choice would be Chrystal Palace.....it's much much bigger than Cape May and 1900, but it''s pretty and has nice characters too....and it is convenient for being in the park...and yes, if your breakfast time is scheduled for before the park opens, you are let in early (we had an 8:30 breakfast time, so we were let into the park early - they have a list at the turnstiles - you go over to the side to one place where they have the list and let you in early)....

bottom line, my first choice would be Cape May (smaller, quieter and nice traditional characters).
my second choice would be CP (nice characters and pretty location)
as for Park Fare, i would never eat breakfast there. We ate there this past year and were extremely disappointed.

Thanks, have decided on Cape May and have just booked it, 11th August 07:30.
:)

Cape May is a lovely breakfast :)

I think Joshua will have a wonderful time there :teeth:

I think you've made a good choice.

I took my nephews some years ago when the youngest was 6 and a bit shy. Like you we had an early booking and it was just perfect. We also did a Crystal Palace breakfast on that trip and it was w-a-y too noisy for my liking.

Glad you are going to try BWV too :)

Thanks Alan & Moira, looking forward to it - we are planning to buy into DVC, just want to sample it first and view all the other resorts etc

Good choice :thumbsup2

This was our first Character meal
DS was 4 at the time and would not go near any of the characters
and hid under the table when thay came around
Chip wrote a note to him asking him what he was afaird of and then went down under the table with him in the end :rotfl2: very funny
enjoy

Good choice Johnny :)

We found Cape May much more quiet than Crystal Palace I must admit :)

I'm sure Joshua will have a great time (and there are Kripsy Kremes :teeth: )

It's also convenient for us as we are at the Boardwalk the first few nights of our holiday before the bulk of our stay at a villa.
We are going to make a big effort to eat out more on this holiday, something that we just never do here at home.

It's nice to finally get everything booked, Universal APs renewed etc
4 months to go :)

Johnny

Sounds fantastic, Im sure Joshua will have a lovely time there :thumbsup2 You will love the Boardwalk, I have never stayed there, but had a wonderful visit there last year, it was my first visit to the Boardwalk, and I fell in love with the place.
