Character Breakfast Transportation Information

I'm staying at the beach club and have a PS at the grand floridian for 9:15 a.m. Would it be faster to take the bus (i heard sometimes the bus service there isn't so good : /) or would it be easier to go to EPCOT and take the monorail over? Also, do CMs let you in EPCOT if you have a PS at a MK resort, just to use the transportation, before the park actually opens?
Going through Epcot would require a very long walk through the park. Then you'd have to catch the monorail to the TTC. Then you'd have to change to the resort monorail. It could take well over an hour, and that's assuming they let you in, which isn't likely.

The bus will be much quicker and easier, and it's not as bad as some may claim. Remember to let the driver know where you will need to go -- they might be able to take you directly after they drop off at the MK. Otherwise, you can take the boat or the monorail over.

Thanks so much for this thread, Tyler! Did you ever have your meeting with your manager about getting CMs from other departments in the loop about this? It sounds like there's still a lot of work to do in that area. (Maybe the DIS Boards should be required reading for front desk and CRO CMs???)
Lets just say there's a worn out spot on my desk from me banging my head.

Tyler, when we return from our trip, I promise to write a letter to WDW Guest Services about how helpful you were. I know WDW frowns on CMs posting on this board, so I won't tell them "where" I "met" you, only that you really helped alleviate all of my transportation worries, not to mention giving me wonderful, accurate information regarding Pop Century (in your Resorts Board FAQ). You really are a wonderful ambassador and a credit to whatever department you happen to be working in at any given moment.
I appreciate your kind words... but when I'm on here, I'm just a Disney enthusiast, just like everyone else. Y'all help me out with random travel info when I need it, and in turn, I post what I know to help y'all out. So, it's kind of a group effort :)

We still love you!! :goodvibes
One day I might actually see you driving the bus to thank you in person!
I will try again in sept! ;)

I should have actually thought about it, I forgot how long it takes to get from the IG tothe monorail station, and to even hope one will be there, etc. Thanks for your help!!

It's my turn....Sounds like your the king of transportation. Could you tell me the fastese (easiest) way to get to Grand Floridian (Pirates Adventure) from the Swan. We need to arrive around 9:15 am. Thanks in advance for all the help!

Quick question. Have 8:40 ressie for the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot. Staying at POP. Traveling with two kids and two grandparents. What time do we need to catch the bus at POP for EPCOT? Don't want to be late, but don't want to wake kids any earlier than necessary. Thanks for the help.

Be out at the bus stop no later than 8:15am. Board the Magic Kingdom bus. Let the driver know you need to get to the Grand Floridian. If they are unable to take you directly, you'll just hop on the monorail from there to the GF.

Be out at the bus stop 45 minutes prior to your seating time.

Thank you...what about walking to Epcot & taking the monorail all the way. Is that a longer route?

Walking through Epcot from the International Gateway to where the monorail stops is quite a walk, and add on the walk from the Swan to Epcot and you are looking at about 20-30 mins I would say, I think you would be better off catching a bus from the swan, maybe you will get lucky and the bus driver will bring you right to the GF.

Thanks so much StaceyA. I had no idea it would take that long to walk to the monorail. Bus it is...hopefully they can take us to the Grand Floridian!

Okay, I read through all eight pages and I just wanted to double check what I'm supposed to do. We're staying at the Poly and have an 8:05am Crystal Palace PS so take the monorail around 7:30? And we have an 8:00 PS for Boma's at the AKL so I should take the 7:00am bus that goes to the AK (the bus goes to both places?)?

TIA! :flower:

For the Crystal Palace, just hop on the monorail around 7:45 or so.

For Boma, be out at the bus stop no later than 7:15, and make sure to let the driver know you need to get to AK Lodge for breakfast.

I think I have an original question - at least I don't think I've seen it in this thread so far.

We are staying at the Dolphin, and will be doing a Princess breakfast at Epcot. What time does the boat service begin? Any idea how much time I need for the trip from the Dolphin to International Gateway?

Not sure if the boat will be running early enough for the breakfasts. You might have to walk... :(

THANK YOU TYLER!!!!!! I hope you know how much your answers relieve a lot of stress for people and make their vacations better. :goodvibes

Do you know what time to the boats start running? I think my reservation is @ 8:50. Let's assume the park doesn't open until 9:00 that day. Will the boats likely be running at 8:00?

The boats should start running around 8:00ish... and it takes a good 20-25 minutes from the S/D to get to Epcot IG.
