We are looking for some tips from some experts in getting character autographs. We were in disney briefly last year as we drove home from Marco Island and my husband and son (4) loved meeting the characters and getting autographs. We have some character meals and I know about the Toontown Tent, but I was looking for any other hints or areas to find those hard to get characters. Any tips wpuld be great. Thank You!!

We were there in January, and I think it was the most characters autographs we every got. We go every Jan, and went this past Thanksgiving as well. One day we walked into Magic Kingdom and as soon as we walked under the train station, there were characters everywhere. We saw 25, yes 25!! characters right here before we even hit main street. I went thru a whole role of film in the first 30 minutes. The kids were loving it. Here is some of who we saw just right there... Donald, Cruela DeVil, Aladdin, Jasmine, Meeko, Friar Tuck, Peter Pan, Wendy, ALice, TImon, Rafiki,Dopey, Robin Hood, baloo, Max, pinocchio, mean guy from pocohontas, Mad hatter.. and more. A good place to check is in the back of Exposition Hall. There are usually characters in there at certain, unposted times. We always get good ones in there. In MGM, there are always characters around the big hat now. Lots of characters. I hope that many characters are out and about when we go back in October and again in January!! My kids were in heaven!! They have every pagein their autograph book filled, and had to start getting them on the backs of pages which we never had to do before!! Good luck!

Here are some of the best places I've found to look for hard-to-find characters:

Town Square at MK- usually a bunch of characters, sometimes some rare ones.
Expo Hall at MK (behind the Camera Shop)- A couple of Princesses can usually be found here at around 11 after they finish the Princess breakfast at the Castle
Toontown Teardrop at MK- This area by the exit of the Judge's Tent in Toontown sometimes features some rare characters on occasion
Fantasyland Character Festival at MK- Villains reign here, so you might be able to find some rarer ones like Stromboli, Malificent, or the Wicked Queen if you're lucky.
Socerer's Hat Courtyard at MGM- Tons of characters show up here in the afternoon up until about an hour or so before the parade.
Washington Square at MGM- At the end of the New York Street, also a great spot for lots of characters at once.

You may also want to check my web site (in my signiture). It has a bunch of information on characters and autograph collecting.

Peter Pan, Smead, and Hook hang out by the Pirates of the Caribbean area. I suggest making a list of characters that you'd like to find. We went to the city hall near the entrance of the MK to find out where certain characters would be. They will call and find out. :) Happy Character Hunting!!!!

Here is a idea for autographs. I read it somewhere. We are going to WDW in 2 weeks and my daughter who is 16 is going to do this. Instead of an autograph book, but postcards of the characters you want autographs from and them get them to sign the cards and make an album when you get home. My daughter loves the idea and it sounds cool to me too.

If your 4 y/o is anything like my 8 y/o, he will need to meet Buzz Lightyear! (DS8 went Buzz Crazy on our trip 2 weeks ago - Toys, Pins, Fanny Pack, even Face Paint!) He hangs out right next to Buzz Lightyear's Space Spin at MK - but only at certain times. We had a CM with a Radio call & check to see what time he would be there & we went there about 5 minutes before hand! It worked out great! (It was our last day at the park & it made DS8's trip complete!)

If you are not in a hurry to get to rides, there were Numerous Characters at the front of Main Street at Opening Every day! (We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Peter Pan & Wendy, Pinocchio, Dopey, Meeko and others!) Also, Aladdin, Genie & Jafar hung out in AdventureLand - right near Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride. Peter Pan, Hook & Smee were right outside of PoTC - CMs can probably give you times for them too!

Definitely do Character Meals too - It's worth it not to Stand in line! The Crystal Palace was great for Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore & Piglet. And I recommend the Garden Grill at Epcot for Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale!

Minnie1156 - We did the Postcard trick too - but for an actual postcard - We had Tigger sign one at the Crystal Palace & mailed it home to someone! She loved the postcard & now she has a great souvenir, too!
