I was wondering if anyone has gone to a character audition? Any advice on anything or what they have you do?

The audition is pretty basic. There are 2 parts: the animation part and the dance part. You start out with having to animate something (for example, making a sandwich). Then comes the dance part. It is in counts of 4, and goes from easy up to much harder.

You may get called back for another dance part, and also may be asked to do the puppeteer audition.

When you say "animate" do you mean mime'ing an action, ie pretending to make a sandwich without any props?

thanks,
agnes!

yup, animating is like charades, where you use BIG actions to show what you're trying to do, like play baseball or mow the lawn

Don't let yourself get too nervous about it. Just go with the flow and have fun! It really is not so bad! :thumbsup2

Plus you'll get to meet a lot of fun people! At my audition there were so many of us that we were split into 2 big groups and I was in the 2nd group, so we had to sit around til the first one was done. There were a lot of outgoing people in my group, so we all started playing duck, duck goose and getting to know one another!

You'll never know what kind of crazy characters you'll be dancing with :)
