Changing the guests on a package

We have 6 people staying in a cabin in Fort Wilderness in September (4 adults and 2 children). Our package needs to be paid in full by August 8th however half of our party will not be able to come up with their part of the reservation until the first of September. Is it possible for me to lower the number of people on the reservation to 2 adults and 1 child and pay for that in full on Aug 8th and then increase it back to 4 adults and 2 children at the beginning of September? If so, what is the latest point that you can add people to a package?

You can add people up to the day of check-in, unless you have the dining plan - that is a three day minimum.

You will pay a fee if you make changes within fourteen days or less, no matter whether you go up or down. If you go up between the 44 days and the 14 days, often the CM will waive the fee because you are essentially increasing the cost of your package.

They charge a $15 document fee. I don't think they also charge the change fee but if they do it would be another $50. If you make the additional before the 14 day mark you won't be charged a fee at all.

If you are adding them on more than 14 days prior to check-in, chances are good they will not charge you any fees.

I doubt that they will charge you a fee but if they do it would be only $15. But you are increasing the package so they shouldn't. It really up to them but I would say no but do it as soon as you know. MHO

Isn't it possible that a change like that (especially adding people on) is going to trigger the pricing structure of the package to change to reflect current ticket pricing, though?

Sad I only made the reservation a week ago so I already paid the higher price for the tickets. I would definitely not do it if I had secured the lower ticket prices.
