Changing terminals in Las Vegas

I've been tracking flights for a few days now and it looks like our SWA flight will land at Terminal B and our connnecting SWA flight departs from Terminal C.

In looking at the airport map for McCarran in Las Vegas, there appears to be a security gate between those 2 terminals. Will we have to go through security again just to change terminals to our connecting flight? (We had to do that for a flight through Los Angeles last year - what a pain!) We only have a 55 minute layover, so not much time to dawdle!

Thanks for your help.

There's a Las Vegas board here, under the Disneyland section. I know this is Transportation, but somebody there might know better. I was looking at the airport map, but it's not detailed enough for me to help you - I think I come into Terminal C all the time, but I don't change terminals :(.

I have only been through begas twice but my recollection is that you pass through security and then you have the option of walking to terminal b or taking the tram to terminal c. However that is when you are going from non secure are to secure. I assume you can switch but it does depend on wher the terminal c tram lets you out.

Okay, I'm checking with someone I know who lives out there; no promises on when I'll get a response.

Okay, my source says you don't go through security again between B and C. But are you sure you're coming into one terminal and leaving from another? Southwest is the primary airline using terminal C, so it seems odd that they'd be using any terminal B gates.

The airport is doing construction at terminal C so they are closing several gates at a time there and sending some Southwest flights to terminal B. I just happened to check McCarran's site the other day and saw this information.
You won't have to go security again but you will have to take a tram but they seem to run frequently and quickly so it shouldn't be too bad.
