Changing SW flight booked on points?

We booked our 1st flight ever using points we got with our SW credit card. We may need to change the flights- different airport to different city.

How does that work? Do I just go on the website to change it or do I have to call? Do if I have to cancel the 1st flight, and if so, how long until my points are able to be used for the new flight? If the new flights are less points will they return the points to my account?

I just had to do this! You can change it on the website, you just need your confirmation number for each passenger. There is actually a "change air" option, so you don't actually need to cancel your first flight before rebooking. If there is a points refund due to you, it will go into your RR account immediately.

Just do it all online. Its super easy and if points are due back to you, they just drop back into your account immediately like they were never touched. HUGE advantage to booking on points!

What about the $5 charge per ticket? Does that go back to CC and then get recharged on new ressie? or is the original charge applied to the changed flight automatically?
