Changing Resorts

Booking our airfare for our March trip...have a 3 bedroom reserved for extended family. We can get much cheaper airfare by leaving one day later.....so thinking about extending for a night.....may or may not be able to get the AKV for that single night. If not.....how much of a hassle would it be to move to another resort? We're planning on using the Magical Express....so how could we do it? We've never had a split stay before.

It's really pretty easy. I do it all the time.
You can take DME to your first resort, and if you tag your checked bags, they will go there as well. Then, the next morning, call Luggage Assistenc/Bell Services and have them take your bags and get them sent to the new resort.
Or, you can just get a cab, and take your bags with you, right to AKL (if you don't get a room there for that first night) This way you'll have your bags with you. If you let Disney move them, you won't get the bags until late afternoon/early evening...and that's a huge pain.

If you can't get AKL for the night, try for a value resort. Then, take a cab over to AKL in the morning, get checked in and then head to the parks.

Thanks for your response! I was actually able to get Kidani....studio....savannah view!!! So....we won't have to move!! YEAH!!!!

I actually tried to get Bay Lake Tower...we've never stayed there....thought it might be a treat! But....no luck!!!! But.....Staying at the same hotel will be easy!!!!

Update....I called yesterday....and I was able to get a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk Villas for that night!!!! Excited because we've never stayed there. YIPPEE!!!
