Can you change resorts(If it's avail) without a penalty money wise?

Yes, as bad as I hate to admit it. We've changed from POFQ to ASMu to CBR to AKL. No fees as long as it's outside of the 45 days and availability.

Thanks Ktink

Dh really wants to stay moderate but I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around the extra $1000 for a place to sleep.

Good luck in deciding. We really liked staying at CSR versus Pop but I don't know that it was worth $1000 more. Why is it so much more? Do you have 2 rooms? We were trying to save for this trip and that's why I ended up changing so much. But I finally had DH talked into AKL and I backed out the past couple of times we had it booked. Now that he's on board I decided to go for it.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide!

For the love of mike and your own personal sanity..

TRY TRY TRY to get your resort changing out of your system before the booking window closes. It becomes MUCH more difficult .. and sometimes NOT POSSIBLE.. outside the booking window.

Please get it all worked out by the end of the booking window.. :)

We originally booked POFQ but switched to POP. Saved us about $215 and I figured we'd be doing commando touring so the resort didn't really matter as we'd only be sleeping there.

Yes we have 2 rooms booked for 7 nights.

Well that would explain it. Good luck. And ITA w/ Canadian Guy. Go ahead and get the changes made. I'm kinda going by the old saying, "Do as I say and not as I did!" :lmao:

I will say the next time we book, I will work out all of the kinks before I call CRO. I think I became so obsessed w/ having the perfect resort picked that I lost sight of the fact that we'll be in WDW and have a great time. But still pick the place that you feel best about. And if you'll be commando style I'd go w/ a value in a heartbeat. Or if you want to have more downtime and relax then I would go w/ a mod.

I've switched once so far and am considering a 3rd time. When I originally booked, there wasn't much available so I picked CR Garden View. But, we decided we'd rather stay near Epcot as we're 2 adults and 1 teenage son. So, picked Beach Club. But, I'm looking at the price difference between Beach Club and CB moderate, 1000.00, and thinking I probably could use that extra money for something else. Really would love Stormalong Bay but when I looked at our overall plans, we won't get much time there anyway.

Question - is there anyway to change online other than cancelling the one ressie and doing a new one? I hate carrying that extra 200.00 on my credit card if I don't have to. It can take a week to a few weeks to come off.

Top priority for my son at Disney is renting a Sea Raycer he can drive without mom or dad coming along. He knows he can at POR but can't at CR as those are much faster and require a licensed driver.

Looks like he can at CB from what I'm reading. I'm thinking about how many hours he can actually rent one and I still won't spend that extra 1000.00. This could be a win/win.

My husband only asks for quiet relaxation and loved POR since we were in one of the far buildings in Alligator Bayou. So, as long as he has that, he doesn't care where we stay. Though not particularly fond of Values.

Made the change. Going to AS Movies which is perfect. I like that resort and we will hardly be in the room.

Told DH that with the extra grand we could take a 4 nighter to Vegas- that did the trick.

Thanks for the help everyone.

you can go nuts with changing resorts-we started out at assp then wanted pop which wasnt available so we kept calling
and then it became available so we switched to pop - i was all excited until i read the thread about everyone changing to pop and its going to be packed and that assp will be empty due to the pool rehab - so then i started thinking of switching back !!!! but im not-and im not going to think about it anymore :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I can't believe you switched yet again :rotfl2: I'm jealous - I thought about AKL but figured we can try it next year!

OP, I'm glad you made a choice and were able to get what you wanted. I recently switched from POFQ to POP because with two trips this year I just couldn't justify the extra $500 for someplace to sleep. I'll stay at POFQ someday; just not this year.

:rotfl: Me too - and dont forget reading about all the bus transportation!! First it was better at pop, now reading with the new GPS Tracking systems out, All Stars may become a better choice!!

:wizard: Its disney, its magical... :wizard:

Guess hubby and I will have to wait for a mod until we are both out of school. The extra money pays for a class for each of us. We stayed at ASMu last year, tried for POP this year, but it was booked, so we are back at ASMu. Which is cool, b/c its only a place to sleep. Right??
