We are changing resorts half way through our stay, Do we have to move our bags or does the resorts look after it. Thanks

As I understand it they will move your bags for you if you like.
We switch resorts on almost every stay and so far have always moved our own bags. We always rent a car and just prefer to work on our own timetable.

Anyone with experience with having the resort move bags?

OK, I'm kind of a hillbilly but you mean that after I spend two luxurious days at the AKL (all that I can afford!:p ) and traipse on over to the AllStars for the rest of my vacation---AKL will handle moving my junk???? That's amaaaaaa-zing.

Moving from resort to resort isn't a problem. Call ahead the night before you are moving to let them know, then call in the morning when you are ready and they will pick them up. The baggage is moved around 3 pm, and goes to the luggage area of the next resort. Once you are in your room, and your luggage has arrived, call up and have it delivered. You will need to be in your room when it comes.

Make sure that you keep a bag with you that has your essentials in it. Just like checking luggage on an airplane, sometimes it doesn't all make it together or gets held up for some reason. I agree that it makes it much more convenient to have Disney transfer the bags, but one time we moved from ASmu to ASSp and I swear they "misplaced" our bags for part of a day!

...are you sure that you want to go from a "deluxe" to a "value"???? Shouldn't it be the other way around???!?!?

(Note to readers: you may want to check out my experiences with a split/stay on "Trip Reports" Board under "DAY ONE: INVASION OF THE MARINO'S!" and you can link to the other days from there....;)

My experience was the same as MJames41. I resort hopped on my recent stay from AKL to GF. I called when I was ready to go and within 10 minutes my luggage was picked up. It is probably a good idea to keep some essentials and a change of clothing with you, but I didn't. I was informed that luggage tranfers take place by 3pm. Though I wasn't told until later, you must be present before they will deliver the bags to the new room.
All my bags arrived at GF safely .
