Changing party size on an ADR

Several of our ADRs for our upcoming trip were made for seven people. (My DSIL's family was planning on joining us, but now may have to cancel) If I call to change the party size to four, will my original reservations be cancelled and re-made, or do I keep the same reservation/reservation number?

I was worried about losing some of the ressies in the time slots I had.

I had the same problem recently and needed to change several reservations from 8 people to 4 due to changes in plans. I just called the disney reservation # and explained the situation. They just adjusted the party size and I didn't loose my reservation time. One of these was even Aukershus, which requires a credit card guarantee. It was very easy! Good luck to you

I only had to do it once (CRT from 6 people to 5). FWIW, I did have a hard time and was told I had to keep/pay for the whole thing, to cancel. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and it was taken care of.
