Changing number of people on a dining reservation

We are going to WDW November 14-21. All of our adrs are made. It looks like our party will change from four people to three people. Should I go back and modify all of those reservations? Or should I call Disney directly and have them modify the number? If I leave them as they are will we be charged for showing up with three people instead of four? As hard as it was to get reservations for that week, I am worried about messing with them.

You won't be charged, as long as someone shows up for the ADR. Honestly, I would leave them as is. Odds are the table size won't be affected.

I had the same question. I am going in February with EITHER 4 or 6 people. I need to make reservations now. I have made them for 6 with plans of dropping to 4 if needed, but I'm worried because I know those are different tables. Anyone have experience with this?

I would keep them as they are. You will not be charged if the number is different- only if the whole party is a complete no show. Showing up with 1 less person is no big deal and most of the restaurants, 3 people will be sat at a 4 top table.

You should totally call and reduce each ADR by one person if you know for sure that person won't be coming. It's not about whether or not you will be charged if you show up with one less (which you won't) like PPs are saying, but think of all the people who are trying to increase their ADR by one person because they forgot to add their infant or someone unexpected would like to join - it's about occupancy.

It only takes a few minutes and they don't cancel and re-book, so you have nothing to lose except a few minutes on the phone. :)

That is one thing I was wondering about. Since 3 people would probably be placed at a 4 table top, I didn't know if it would change or open up a reservation for someone else or not. But if it would open up something for someone else I will definitely call. My concern was trying to modify them on MDE and messing something up.

You actually don't have the ability to modify dining reservations on MDE; you can only book them or cancel them. :)
