Changing II reservations?

Does anyone know the rules for changing an II reservation? We have a week in Maui booked for November 2006, but we have just checked flights from the uk and we would have to do a 7.5 hour from Newark, then more than 10 hours from there to Hawaii - plus the internal transfers between the islands!

We are worried that we have made a huge mistake and considering trying to change the exchange to the Caribbean. What are the penalties if we do this? Thanks.

You will probably have to pay another exhange fee, but otherwise will be able to cancel and make a change. You will likely still be subject to the original expiration of the exchange and will need to go thru the process of getting the trade just as before.
