Changing Credit Card on File

I'm facing a bit of a conundrum at the moment and since four phone calls to WDW resulted in four different answers, I thought I'd ask the DIS experts here!

Our next visit to WDW is in December. We'll be checking in at BLT on 12/2 and checking out on 12/10. The credit card that I currently have on file expires 11/16 and because of that, I wasn't able to complete our online check-in at the 60-day mark. That, in and of itself, isn't a huge deal as I'll phone them to let them know of our early arrival and room requests.

Now, onto the bigger issue. Our spring trip is June 1-June 10. Our 180-day ADR window opens on December 1st. That means I'll be booking our ADRs prior to leaving for our December trip but won't have a valid credit card on file to do so (remember, the one on file now expires next month).

If I were to go in now and change the credit card that I have on file, will I lose all of the ADRs that I made for our December trip? I had one CM tell me "yes, absolutely", another tell me "I don't know. It's a risk you'll have to take." Another one said she spoke with a dining CM who has 18 years of experience and said "You won't lose them."

So, does anyone know the correct answer? If I were to change my credit card now, will my December ADRs become null and void?

No, you will not lose your ADR's if you change your credit card. I've changed my credit card without a problem. I've also had an expired credit card on file and didn't lose the ADR's.

Thank you so much! I've gone with an expired credit card before but never ran into a situation like this where I would need to be making future ADRs literally the day after my current card expires and the day before our next trip that's packed full of them. You just made my day, @Wood Nymph!

I have changed the cc'd on file a few times - and honestly it never occurred to me that I may loose my ADRS (and I haven't). Honestly I doubt it would even be noticed until/unless they attempt to charge you a no show fee.

If you do have a card that covers both trips I would use that as the saved card instead. For ADR's you won't be charged unless you no show and if you would like a different card for room charging you can change that at the desk or during online check in.
