Changes to Norway?

It has FP machines because from about mid-afternoon until closing, lines can be up to 60 minutes for it. Also, there aren't as many attractions in Epcot. Not all attractions that had FP kiosks are super headliners:

Living With The Land, Winnie The Pooh, Stitch, Primeval Whirl.

Not everyone likes the same thing. My belief is Maelstrom has that "it factor" that is hard to explain, but it just makes die-hard WDW fans feel at home and is a must-do. I can't explain it, but I love the whole experience, from the ride, to the village after the ride, to the movie.

I get what you're saying. The big issue was the high expectations we had when we saw FP machines. The vast majority of attractions at WDW that had FP machines were headliners, so that was what we were expecting. Kind like whan a friend raves and raves about a film, and builds it up so much that by the time you see it you are much more apt to be let down.

...and by the way, I AM a die hard Disney fan. :thumbsup2 Still, Maelstrom is not a must do for us. Maybe for some, but not us. Like I said, we liked the ride. We've just focused on other things at Epcot the last three years.

That may have been true in the past but certainly not once FP+ was implemented.

When FP was implemented park ops was mandated to have a FP attraction in every "land" of every park.

Which is why they had them for some attractions but they where almost never used HM comes to mind. Rumor was FP slowed the attraction cycle time because it was so well engineered that the disruption of splitting the flow FP then stand by caused them to lose per hour capacity

The countires in Epcot are about the countries, not movies that might possibly maybe be placed there. If they want to do a Frozen display it should be done at DHS. I do agree that the movie at the end of Maelstrom could use some updating, but I don't think making it about Frozen is the answer.

I agree with 100%

But do the nations have any say-so on how their names are used? Could Norway ask that their name not be used if they don't like how they're portrayed?

I don't believe they do. I don't think the Norwegian government holds Trademark (copyrights don't apply to titles) rights to the name. I do believe politically if they wanted to make a stink about it, they could say something to the US department of state and they could come down and talk to Disney.

But then Disney could say "You know our ship the Magic that is going to bring a lot of people to your coastal cities next year... yeah well umm.. it's a no go."

What you are missing is the parks are all about the quick fixes. For a while after they bought Pixar the fix was to slap a "Now with Pixar added" sticker on things. Now Frozen is hot (hehehe) so now the solution is "Put A&E in it."

WDW still doesn't have Star Wars land or Cars Land.

While Avatar Land is happening, look at what the lead times are on it. They are building stuff but it's going to be another 2 years. And it is a fast tracked project to the point of they announced it before they knew what they where doing. It was an odd Disney announcement without concept art, because they didn't have a concept.

I won't worry about the change till it happens. All these changes need money and take time. Both of which may take till it's like "Ahh yea you remember Frozen? Which one was the Queen Anna or Elsa?"

That almost sounds like more blackmail. I don't like but it sounds like only Disney has control of anything.

I hate this idea, but honestly Disney already ruined Norway when they changed the restaurant into a princess showcase and turned part of the gift shop into a princess store.

Ugh. I always feel bad for the Norwegian cast members who come here as a representative of their country only to find Disney princesses.

How does a pavillion taken over by an animated film classify as part of a "World Showcase"????????????????
MK is all about fantasy and fictional characters. Additionally, DHS and AK have plenty of attractions based on the animated feature films. Leave the World Showcase AS IT IS!

They had to put zazu and Iago into Tiki Room. (Though i heard they've reverted it, now.) They took out Mr. Toad to put in Pooh. They pulled our Horizons for Test Track. They put Jack in Pirates. Always meddling with things.

I really love Anna and Elsa from Frozen. But I love Maelstrom, The Puffins Roost and Kringla Bakery even more...I hope that whatever changes are planned are minimal.

Horrible idea. Frozen doesn't belong in the World Showcase. On a similar topic, Lilo & Stitch doesn't belong in Tomorrowland.

I agree on both counts. If they are gonna base rides in EPCOT on where a disney movie was based then there should be a Beauty and the Beast ride in France,Mary Poppins riden in England, Mulan ride in Japan, Aladdin ride in Morroco etc...............
