I booked a room-only reservation for 2 nights. Can I call later and take off one night, or will they make me cancel the whole thing and re-book.

The CM told me I could, but then again he also told me that woods view was the standard view at WL. And that was after I asked for AAA standard and he quoted me courtyard bunk bed. :rolleyes1 I just don't want to call to change it and have them tell me I need to cancel and rebook again!

I have done this before, the last time was just yesterday. Yes, you can modify the reservation to drop a night. Mine was even an AP rate and probably no longer available for new bookings but it didn't matter, I just dropped the first night of the reservation with no problem.

I just made AP rate room only for 2 trips. First one is 3 nights at CSR and the second one is 2 nights at Poly after 9 days of free dining. Both said I could modify them if need be and add or drop a day... adding a day there might not be availability to do it. I might add a day to our 3 night anniversary stay at CSR.

Oh wow! That's a relief! Is it only a problem when you change resorts or totally change dates? When I tried to change my OKW reservation to WL yesterday, they made me cancel and re-book. I was changing dates too, so maybe it was just too many changes going on. :)

Just today I took a free dining ressie and turned it into AP rate at CSR.. same resort though. That was easy, they booked the AP room and then cancelled the free dining. I did need a new ressie # though. Then, on the second one, I switched from CR to Poly and that one they just switched the resort and gave me a new total, ressie # stayed the same. I asked about adding a day and they said if its available they will just add it. If I need to drop it, they will just drop it. But for instance, the Poly, if I drop from 2 nights to 1, they only have lagoon view available instead of the garden view. But with 2 nights, they have my garden view. So really not sure on that one.. if I had to go from the 2n I have booked down to 1, would they really make me change to a lagoon view? Not sure. But when I checked 9/29 for 1n, only lagoon view came up. I then asked about 9/29 for 2 nights and with that garden view came up. Go figure!

I have never had to book a new reservation unless I was changing my arrival date. I could drop or add days at the end, but the one time I added days at the beginning, they issued me a new reservation and cancelled the old one.
