Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude-April 11-19, 2014-Day 9-Part 3 (updtd 6/29)

Love the BC. We stayed there for a night in March and it was wonderful. We also have a post cruise stay there in October. Great resort and great location.

That will be the perfect time to be there. Will ood and Wine still be going on?

Love CMC too!

Cute pj's!

Thanks!!

We LOVE BC!! How did OKW compare to BC after staying at both?

They are both so different even though they both have a beachy theme. OKW is a lot bigger, even the rooms are bigger. And the resort is very spread out. Beach Club is just steps from Epcot and their pool is AMAZING!!

I've never had those little sweets. We will have to look for them on our next trip!

They are so yummy!!

Loving your report :goodvibes

Hey !!! Thanks for following along and taking the time to say hello!!

BC is a gorgeous resort. That's awesome that the Cm was able to find you guys some Oreo Bon bons.

Jill in CO

It was awesome!! I was so happy we were able to get some.

Happy Mother's Day, Susan! I hope you're having a great day!

We cancelled an adr last October at Cape May Cafe in favor of Via Napoli. My husband loves seafood, so we need to get there soon.

Any idea why they discontinued the oreo bonbons at the buffet? Making more money selling them in the gift shops?

Thank you Ann !!! I wish you the same!!

They have some great seafood, but I am allergic to shellfish, so I am limited to what I can have. They have MANY other options if seafood isn't your thing.

I asked about that, actually. And they told me it was too time consuming for them to make so many every day for the buffet. So now they just make a certain amount every day and sell them at the gift shop. And when they run out for the day, that is that. They are worth making a extra purchase for though.

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm loving your report! My daughter and I are DLR vets who are planning a bucket-list trip that will include a few days at Disney World in 2016! It'll be my only trip, so it's fun to see your ride comparisons. This helps me make better plans to maximize our time.

Can't wait to read more!

The Beach Club is so gorgeous.. We did the breakfast at Cape May on our last trip.

I am loving those pajamas too. I really like paisley!

we love the BC such a pretty resort we were lucky to stay there once a few years back, the boys never wanted to leave the pool. sadly with the cost of disney going up we just cannot justify the money to stay there again (not until we win the lottery anyway!)

OK caught up. Baseball season is doing me in. I have a game almost every night of the week and with Jay on the Varsity team at school I sometimes have 2 games a day, like today.

Anyway the Dinosaur Hannah got is really cute.

Love WPE and the meatloaf. Will definitely eat there again.

Can cross the Monsters playground off my list. I only have ONE day for the F&G, the very last day so I am hitting it running and trying to do as much as I can. Sadly my good camera is not working right and had to go for repairs. Hopefully my backup will be OK.

The pool time looks like fun I just never spend much time at the resort pools. We belong to a swim club and my whole summer is spent at the pool. I am not a water person and swimming is really hard with my ankle. My grandkids are all water people so I have to go in with them. So not high on my list at Disney.

Think I am caught up for now.

So I though I'd take a second to say I have been keeping up, but I do all my reading on my phone at play rehearsal or dance class these days (yeah, that 'd where I am now). Not the optimal situation for responding in an appropriate manner. Anywho, trip sounds like mucho fun thus far. Love, love love my pin!!! Thank you so much for being my personal shopper. Since the Oreo Bon bons appear to be a rare commodity now, will have to be sure And pick some up next time we go.

I bet that is a super expensive place to stay if you pay cash. Even with DVC, it is hard to get a reservation there. We loved it the one time we stayed there, though. We will be back for that one.

I hear ya. I am kind of ready for summer and the after school activities to end. It will be nice just to come home from work and not have 3 different places to be.

Anyway the Dinosaur Hannah got is really cute.

Yes, but she needed another stuffed animal - NOT.

Love WPE and the meatloaf. Will definitely eat there again.

Soooo yummy

bummer about your camera. Hasn't that thing been giving you a lot of trouble?

It hurts my ankle, too. But I did get in a cool off a little. The water was perfect that day.

Think I am caught up for now.

I see on FB that your DD is super busy. Does her schedule slow down some over the summer? Mine will have a slow down then. It will be nice to come home from work and not have to go somewhere. I am a hermit like that.

Day 5 – Part One

Today was Magic Kingdom day. We dragged the kids out of bed around 7:30 and got to the park around 9AM. The crowds weren’t too bad and we got a lot done in a short amount of time.

DD wanted to ride the Barnstormer, so we headed back that way. DS went to ride Space Mountain.

We rode two times in a row with no waiting.

I realized I forgot my visor, so I headed into the Storybook Circus gift shop and bought one.

And then we hopped on Dumbo.

And then DD wanted to ride the Speedway. I waited, while DD and DH rode. I texted DS and he said he was riding the “Blue Train”

We had a 10:30 is FP for BTMRR and we still had some time, so we rode Pooh which didn’t have much of a wait.

I think this ride is super cute, but I’m not gonna lie. This queue makes me bilious. All of the germs and bacteria that must be present just makes me cringe. I touch nothing and afterwards, we head to the restrooms for a decent hand washing. I bet the health department would shut this place down if anyone swabbed the surfaces and tested it. It never really LOOKS dirty – but with all of the kids and even adults touching everything, it has to be a biohazard.

Sorry for forcing my neuroses upon you. Moving on.

We met up with DS and we all headed over to BTMRR. DD’s favorite ride.

After that, we headed back over to ride Haunted Mansion.

After that, we headed over to our favorite MK quick service to get some lunch.

Columbia Harbor House.

We got I early – about 11:30 AM and ordered food and found a nice quiet place upstairs.

We had a great view of the area outside. Still not a huge crowd problem.

See how pretty the weather looks? Yeah – that will change - and soon. But back to the meal.

I love the décor. I especially love old maps.

We always get the same thing to eat here as well. The kids get chicken and french fries.

And DH and I always split the Shrimp Platter.

It is always plenty of food. They used to have an apple cobbler which was really more like apple pie, but now they have seasonal cobbler. I got this for DH since he loves berries.

For my dessert, I got this lemon slushie and maybe some brain freeze to go along with it.

The kids got chocolate cake.

So at this point it is about noon and we had really gotten a lot of things done. We had a ressie for dinner at Be Our Guest about 4:45 PM and DH was wondering if we were going to make it that long. So I called to check and see if we could change our reservation. And … that was no. Nothing was really available and since we secured this reservation with a credit card, we either had to go or take the $10 a person they charged if you didn’t go. So we decided to stick it out. And stick it out we did.

I'm a neurotic hand washer, also. Thank God I have a sink in my classroom because I probably wash my hands 15-20 times a day at work. Kids are germy!

We love Columbia Harbor House, too! Has the apple cobbler been discontinued? Can you substitute the lemon slushie for a dessert on the dining plan or did you have to use a snack credit? That slushie looks really tasty.

Truth!!

Yes the cobbler has been discontinued. Now they call it seasonal cobbler. I would imagine that they do the apple sometimes, but the last two times we got peach and berry. Yes, you can get the slushie as a dessert. I love me a lemon slushie.

I think I'll never let my youngest DD see the post about the Pooh ride. She will drive me insane. She has become a HUGE germophobe since she started her prenursing classes. I can't wait to see how bad she is when she starts nursing school in the fall. I keep some pretty smelling anti bacterial stuff on my bag.

I love the shrimp platter at CHH. One of the counter services in MK.

The camera is fixed, I hope. The shop did an update on the software and set it back to factory settings. Something was out of sync. I will take a back-up camera just in case though. Now if I could just get the energy to get ready for the trip. Baseball isn't a big issue for the next few days. My granddaughter has a bad bone bruise on her hand and my grandson is recovering from an appendectomy. LOOOONG couple of days.

The queue just gives me the heebs.

Always a winner for us!!

I am glad your camera is fixed. A bone bruise i very painful and it take a long time to heal. I am glad your grandson is OK. Yikes - you leave in four days. You need to get busy!! Are you flying? I forget.

She was actually happy about it. Means no softball and she doesn't want to play. It was a bad bruise and I had to listen to the "door" lecture from my dad. :lmao: He hates doors.

I am beyond happy about Jay. My cousin is a nurse and she answered a few questions for me. His appendix was starting to "burst", there was fluid in his abdomen, so we were very lucky. I will be happy when he is home because then I know I can relax.

Yep more like 3 1/2 days as I fly out at 7 AM. I did pack my socks and shampoo so I have started anyway. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Is that how she hurt her hand?

This happened to my cousin as well. He had to stay in the hospital several days. Something about watching for infection or some such. Can be very serious for sure.

I would leave your long pants and sweatshirts back home. It has been REALLY hot here. Mid to upper 90's.

And the kids love the macaroni here. Always a winner for us.
So is this some kind of special macaroni that is different from every other place at Disney that serves macaroni? :confused3

DD checked the case they were in and no … none left. So I asked. And one of the CM;s said she could go check and see. She said it would take her about 10-15 minutes to go to the place to check though and asked if we could wait. We said yes, and after a while she came back with four packages of them on her cart saying that was all that was left. We grabbed a package and thanked her.
Good customer service. I'm glad they were able to find some for you!

We rode two times in a row with no waiting.
That's always a good thing. Especially when the ride only lasts 20 seconds. :rotfl2:

Convenient excuse to buy a new souvenir. :thumbsup2

Don't worry. It's no worse than everything else you touch all day at Disney World... :rolleyes1

So at this point it is about noon and we had really gotten a lot of things done.
Definitely! That was a great morning! :thumbsup2

I have shorts, capris and Tee shirts on the bed in the spare room. Just didn't get past that part spending so much time in the hospital.

Crystal had a car door shut on her hand. It was an accident but she hates softball, so she's happy she can skip games for a week or 2.

It is actually. It is not the bright orange stouffers type - it is better!!

Good customer service. I'm glad they were able to find some for you!

I thought so, too. It was very nice of her to go all that way for us.

That's always a good thing. Especially when the ride only lasts 20 seconds. :rotfl2:

It is 28 seconds to be exact. LOL

Convenient excuse to buy a new souvenir. :thumbsup2

Who needs an excuse? I buy at will.

True, but this seems worse. Especially that "honey" wall ~ shivers ....

Definitely! That was a great morning! :thumbsup2

Why even sign up for it if she hates it?

Happy packing!!!

Why didn't you ride it while you were there last? It is fun but if you get motion sick, it might make you queasy.
Too fat.

Love the Flower & Garden Festival.
The egg hunt sounds like fun.
Oh the Rose slushie. I dream about that.
Love the Jiminy mug.
Cape May is a good place to eat.
Nice she found those treats for you.
I need to try CHH.
All caught up again.
