Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude-April 11-19, 2014-Day 9-Part 3 (updtd 6/29)

So, I have missed not one post but TWO! Thankfully, I was slow at work, so I could read them both and snack on some beef jerky (doesn't that sound like fun? :thumbsup2 )...

I try to update daily if I can so yes, you need to keep up, girl!!

Your room at OKW looks awesome! Seriously, I am telling my husband we are staying at that DVC first. It looks so comfy and the colors make everything look so relaxing. :goodvibes

Rent points. I can't stress that enough. Let me know if you have questions. We always use all our points though. And if you stay at OKW, stay near the hospitality House or rent a car. This resort is huge and spread out.

I just got excited a little over the MagicBands, I'm not going to lie...If you can dress them up, I am there ;) Was that a Polynesian cover in the package as well?

I like that, too they had some really cute stuff. This is what I think that package of band covers was all about. It is a Magic Kingdom set of covers. And the three rides represented were small world, haunted mansion and maybe jungle cruise.

Sewing room drawers....I saw your post on FB the other night. Aren't they wonderful? I have my grandmother's Singer from 1912. Drawers still in tact filled to the brim with sewing supplies from the 1940s through 1988. :lovestruc

OK. I am going to need a photo of that. I wanna see!! Since I posted that, I have had three people wanting me to buy their old machine from them. I get paid on Thursday, so there is a high possibility that you will see another photo on my facebook page.

I cannot wait to try HP ride.

Why didn't you ride it while you were there last? It is fun but if you get motion sick, it might make you queasy.

MMM, Butter Beer.

It was alright. It was very sweet.

Love that little train ride.
We just tried Bonefish Grill for the first time last week, YUM!.

I love their food!! And that shrimp. I have dreams. Dreams of yearning ....

Never had Chick Fil A and never will.

I can understand why you feel that way.

Cute Dino she got.
MMM, I want the meatloaf now.

That meatloaf is awesome. Lorre tried it and she said she loved it.

The room looks so nice. We had bad batteries to and we called and they replaced them for us.

I know I could have called and asked for some, but the kids were fine with what we found to watch, so we were good.

I like the patio there.

It was very serene, Nice and peaceful. Dh was always out there smoking a stinky cigar

Cute items for the magic bands.
All caught up again.

They are cute. I love my balloon one.

Looked like a nice day at HS .

Love the magic band covers this is my only concern with them, I'm not keen on wearing anything on my wrist to begin and worry they may irritate me, was there a lot of choice in terms of covers for them?

:welcome: I love your screen name - LOL. I highly recommend the magic band covers. They are made of the moisture wicking material as well so if you get sweaty - well you know what I mean. Having the cover made mine more comfortable for sure. They have a decent variety, I think. You just have to look and see what you like the best. They were selling them everywhere.

Day 4 – Part One

We got up around 7:30 AM and headed over to Epcot. This is my favorite park. The park was already showing signs of a heavily crowded day, so we got in and headed straight to Test Track.

We had fast passes for Soarin’ so we needed to ride Test Track in the standby line. The wait was already up to 30 minutes and there was a line out the door, so we all hopped in the single rider line and rode in 5 minutes.

Our fast pass for Soarin wasn’t for another hour, so DD wanted to ride Sum of all Thrills. She loves this ride.

It was still before 10 AM and the wait was already past 20 minutes. I waited while they rode. DS wandered off somewhere to look around.
After they were done, it was time. Time to ride my favorite ride ever. Soarin.

The line was already huge for this one, too. Thank goodness for fastpass!!

After that we rode the Living with the Land.

After that, we headed over to Club Cool and sip some sodas and feel the sticky floor under our feet.

DD is still mad that they took away her beloved China soda. Some of the new ones are pretty good though.

Once World Showcase was open, DS took off to explore on his own.

We took a stroll through the butterfly garden on our way to the World Showcase.

Oh!! I don’t know if I mentioned this already, but it was the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot while we were there.

Everything was so pretty. Up next – our Easter egg hunt in World Showcase.

Thanks came up with it years ago not even sure why now :rotfl:

Will definitely invest in a cover (or two) then on our next trip :thumbsup2

So I have been MIA all day in my sewing room. I bought a messenger bag pattern from Craftsy (online craft store) before our trip and I am just now getting time to try it out. Here is my prototype. I can't wait to make it in other cute Disney fabrics.

Front of bag with the flap down.

Back of bag. Sorry for the blurry photos.

Flap open

Main compartment with pockets along the inside wall.

And a zipper pocket on the flap

Fun huh?? Back to my sewing for now .....

Love your Flower and Garden Festival photos!

That messenger bag is adorable! I can't believe you can just whip one of those up in no time.

Another awesome update...:thumbsup2 Is the Butterfly exhibit only open during Flower & Garden?

Ugh! I hate the sticky floor in Club Cool but I love hanging out in there for a bit to try out the sodas popcorn::

And I will definitely invest in some of the Magic Band covers. I really like the ones you got. Did they have Epcot ones or Animal Kingdom?

Yes. It is really cool though. I can't help but feel sorry for the butterflies at times though.

I like the sodas. And I like that fact that they changed them. They changed every flavor except the Beverly. Why that still remains, I will never know.

And I will definitely invest in some of the Magic Band covers. I really like the ones you got. Did they have Epcot ones or Animal Kingdom?

I don't really know. Once I bought mine, I quit looking at them. I imagine by the time you go they will have all kinds of different choices.

Wow the bag looks great. You are super talented I would never be able to do something like that

Thanks. I always hear people say they could never do that, but if I can do it - anyone can.

Love your Flower and Garden Festival photos!

I have lots more. It is so pretty there during that time.

That messenger bag is adorable! I can't believe you can just whip one of those up in no time.

Thanks, Ann. They are so fun to make and they are selling like crazy. It is fun for me.

Day 4 – Part Two

I was ready to head to World Showcase, but along the way we were stopped for quite a while when DD saw this Monsters University playground.

She is 11 and she is growing up so fast. She still loves all of the little girl things – even playgrounds. So we let her play for a while since we knew she would be outgrowing it soon and becoming a teenage brat like her brother is.

They only have these playgrounds out during Flower and Garden. Last year was an Oz one I believe. They are amazing and the kids LOVED them.

I work for a landscape architect and we are designing a children’s garden at our local zoo. I made sure to get lots of photos. It was “research”.

This is DD helping another little girl spin on this thingy.

This looks empty now but a couple of days later, this area was packed. So much so that kids were waiting in line to get in.

After that, we headed to one of the gift shops at the entrance to World Showcase. I think it was called Port of Entry. Anyway, they were selling these maps of World Showcase and these little eggs stickers with characters on them – Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, etc. You had to match the sticker with each country. The eggs were hidden in the country.

DH saw this in the store and thought it was funny.

Sorry, back to the egg hunt adventure. We headed towards Mexico.

Fantasia topiaries

DH really like the floating planters.

We arrived in Mexico and DD was moaning about being hungry, so we got her some Nachos and churros at La Cantina de San Angel.

DH and I were saving ourselves for the American Pavilion food kitchen.

After she had eaten, we set out to find some Easter eggs – finally.

Sometimes they were easy to see, sometimes not.

No egg here …

Yoo hoo egg – where are you??

There you are!!

We got our Donald sticker and placed on Mexico and headed to the next country.

My next photo was in Germany and this is where that egg was. Can you see it??

DH got a beer for us to share. I love the beer in the Germany pavilion. It is always so nice and cold. I know that in the real Germany they wouldn’t drink it so cold, but here in Florida it is nice to have it so cold.

I am at my photo limit, so I will stop here. Stay tuned!!

I would love to do the egg hunt one year but we never go at Easter time so I guess that won't happen!!

ANYTHING cold in Florida heat is amazing!

Cool that they do an Easter egg hunt! What a fun touch!

I visited Epcot briefly in March and I was very impressed with the Butterfly garden. We were actually the first stamp for the butterfly garden since it had just opened and they discovered there wasn't a spot in the passport. I would think they have all been reprinted by now.

It was cool that morning so the butterflies were pretty inactive and I got some great pics.

Great pictures of the playground.

Looks like a very nice morning in Epcot!

We just missed it last year, so I was glad we got to do it this year.

It wasn't very hot that day, but I really just like my beer to be really cold. I don't really like it warm.

We didn't even see the passport things. Now I'm bummed we didn't do that. I know they have them for Food and Wine

DH took the butterfly photos. Mine never turn out as good as his do. He says my hands shake too much. I just love Epcot.

Looks like a lovely day!

I have the Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts for my boys but I think they are probably outgrowing them by now. I want to make a blanket for them when they are older with all of their disney shirts. :)

You have me really considering my DH and I sharing meals on our weekend trip in June... It really is plenty of food and obviously, cost cutting. :cool1:

We do it all of the time and there is always plenty of food. The kids often don't eat all of their food, so we eat that as well. If you are paying OOP, I would definitely share.

Day 4 – Part Three

We meandered around in the countries finding eggs for our Easter Egg hunt and taking topiary photos.

Aw Kermie. Can’t you just hear him singing the Rainbow Connection?

DH and I settled in at the America Pavilion. Their food kitchen was called The Smokehouse.

DH and I noshed on some Pulled Pork Sliders with Cole Slaw. These were snack credits.

DD colored a Duffy bear.

I loved the Woody topiary.

Check out the pull string …

After that, we headed out to search for more eggs

Another playground

Then we arrived in France.

Where DH took photos

while I waited in line to purchase my beloved La Vie en Rose Pink Slushie.
