Inspired by the "Changes at OKW" thread ...

I you had in a say in the matter, what positive changes would you like see implimented at HH? This could be anything from housekeeping, events, food service, entertainment, transportation, etc.

As already expressed in another thread, anyone (HH owner or other DVC member or even non-DVC member) is welcome to comment since they may at some time consider staying there.

This could include improvements like onsite restaurant, room service, more parking or anything else you think you would like to see.

Enjoy!

As already expressed in another thread, anyone ([HH] owner or other DVC member or even non-DVC member) is welcome to comment since they may at some time consider staying there.

This could include improvements like larger rooms, closer parking, onsite restaurant, a front desk not shared with another resort, transportation to the main entrance of Epcot or any other amenity that anyone could ever possibly be remotely interested in adding- whether they would ever stay there or not.

Enjoy!

Can't forget HH, it's a wonderful resort.

Transport the entire resort to beach front property. LOL!!!

I do own there, but.... the location does not do it for me. I love HH, but don't stay at Disney when I go.

Beachfront villas. Rental boats at the HH pier for cruising the inland waterway.

Those rental boats sound like a great idea! Also, how about an on-site ice cream place like Chuck S was recommending for OKW. A beach resort like that reminds me of what Samantha Brown said "Everyone remembers summers on the beach...and eating too much ice cream!"

Bring back the big cookies that they used to have in the lobby. All they have now are small, somewhat dry ones. When I went for my cookie fix last week, I was disappointed.

More seriously, HH needs to have HS Internet. If it is cost prohibitive to put it in each room, then at least have some PCs and ports to access, perhaps at the beach house. Dial-up from HH is a pain.

I wouldn't change a thing....except have the take out window open just a tad later, maybe 5:30, 6 instead of 4, so if you wanted a quick light dinner you could grab it there.
Otherwise, for me, it's perfect. I prefer the non oceanfront location, as my kids don't ask to go to the beach because they don't know it's there. (I realllllly am not a sand person);)

I would also like to see extended hours at Tide Me Over. If I remember correctly, they opened at 8 AM when we were there in July. Sometimes, DH would have liked to of headed over for coffee a bit earlier than that.

And, definately later hours in the afternoon would be an improvement. My family enjoys cooking in our villa but once in a while, it would be nice to have another option without having to shower/change/dress up a bit to go out and get something for dinner.

I agree with the restaurant suggestion or longer hours for Tide me Over. It would be great if they had a breakfast & dinner place.

I would like to see a low priced (if not free for members) mini golf at the resort. Even just 9 holes would be nice. It could be themed to the resort of course, with many hidden mickeys!

We like to play tennis and always end up a few times over at Pametto Dunes to play. I wish they had courts on-site at the resort. Other than that, I think the resort is just perfect.

I think the recommendations sound good, but isn't location limited on expanding. Also, I thought I had heard, one of the concessions that they made with HH planning boards was there would not be a restaurant on site?

How about if Disney purchased the restaurant right before you go over the bridge and themed it out.

I love the non-beach location. I makes it seem like two different vacation spots when you go to the beach. Plus riding the bikes over to the beach is great.

I would like to see a the community hall changed a little bit to reflect more like BWV's. But then again, that is what makes all the locations diferent.

Expand the hours of Tide Me Over. Expand the liquor selection from Tide Me Over. Expand the store a little.

I'm fine with the restaurant situation. Anybody that visits HHI will have a car - am I wrong? - and the island is absolutely filled with excellent, reasonably priced restaurants.

I'm also someone who'd like to see the resort relocated closer to the beach, but still keep it near the harbor, which we really like. And make the air temperature a little cooler in summer (but keep the water temperature the same). Is that too much to ask?

Seriously, though, about the only thing I can come up with is rehabbing the gift shop. My wife and daughter were absolutely ravenous for HHI souvenirs, and the shop had nothing, really. Most of what they did have was recycled WDW memorabilia. So they had to make a trip to Walmart, where they really loaded up. But what they really wanted was Disney-related stuff.

Since more families stay there Sunday thru Friday, I wish they would schedule more teen, kids activities at the beginning of the week so kids will have a chance to meet each other and perhaps play with each other the rest of the trip. Last time we were there, they only had one teen program, on Thursday!

The main problem I have found is that parking can be a problem when the resort is full. It would have been nice if that had been better thought out, but I guess they wanted to fit in as many villa's as possible. Also I agree about longer hours at Tide Me Over.

We were thinking about trying HH next summer. From what I've read it looks liek they coudl use more food options at the resort itself.
Also, I comapred activity sheets from VB and HH and VB seemed more appealing for kids. It wodul eb nice if they threw in a few more activities theroughout the week for younger kids.

I'm not sure what VB had that HHI didn't, but our kids had way more things to do than they could squeeze into a week. Plus just outside the gates are an endless variety of other things, since HHI has been a hot destination for decades,

I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid, exactly, but you really should wait until you stay there. I'm pretty sure you'll feel differently.
