Change in Park Hours - Fantasmic! question

Hey all!

For my upcoming trip we have a Fantasmic! VIP package for Sunday Dec 13. HS park hours have been extended and now there are 2 Fantasmic's, an 830 and a 10pm. I was thinking the 10pm would be better for our schedule, but now I see the Fantasmic package says it's good for the 1st showing. When I booked this, there wasn't an option, as only 1 Fantasmic had been scheduled.

Can I use the VIP pass at only the 1st showing, or will it be ok for the second as well?

I went through the same issue. I have a reservation at the Brown Derby with F! Dining Package for 12/20. My reservation at the BD is at 5:25PM, and 1st F! show is now 7PM, which was impossible for me to go to.

Initially when I called and presented the issue to Dining I was told I could only go to the 1st showing. If you are determined to the 2nd showing (as I was), ask to be transferred to a supervisor, and they will transfer you to Guest Services. My GS rep ended up contacting the restaurant directly, and the restaurant manager authorized me to get passes for the 2nd show. I had my GS rep send me an Email confirmation, in case there are any issues once at the restaurant.

Based on past experience, you will have very little problem getting a standby seat at a second showing on a Sunday evening before vacation season begins. Last few times I've been to a 10pm there outside of peak times there were still empty sections at show time. Can't remember if you're paying a premium for the VIP package but if you have any trouble getting the pass for the 2nd show - I'd just see about changing it to a regular reservation (or cancelling the reservation if you mostly did it for the Fantasmic part and didn't care as much about eating there).

Does anyone else think it's strange that HS closing time goes back to 9pm Dec 21-24 (although 24th has PM EMH)? It's 10pm for Dec 18-20

There have been rumors that there may be SW fireworks on the 18th to mark the release of The Force Awakens. Perhaps fireworks will be all weekend?

DHS closing has been extended to 11:00 beginning 12/18 through the end of the month due to SW fireworks. yulilin3 has posted the times in the Launch Bay/SW fireworks thread.
