Gimme your best guess for these days in October (Thursday-Tuesday, the week after Columbus Day)

1) Value studio at AKV for Th-Fr?

2) Standard 1BR at BWV for Fr-Tues or Sat-Tues?

3) ANY 1BR at BWV or BCV for Sat-Tues?

I'm working with a very limited number of points and I really want to have a 1BR for at least three nights. I will not be able to waitlist since I will have to buy some of the one-time-use points and those cannot be used to waitlist.

I make my reservation on Sunday and although I would be happy with just about anything, I'd like to try something besides OKW and AKV. I've been to AKV 4 times and our 4th trip to OKW is next June. I'd like to try something different for this trip since it will be without any kids. Switching resorts mid-trip is something I'm actually looking forward to doing.

For the BWV/BCV options, am I correct in assuming that I have two things working in my favor: One, I am only looking for 3 nights starting on Saturday; and two, I think I heard that 1BR's are usually the last category to fill up? Should I get my hopes up?

I would not get your hopes up since you are talking Epcot resorts during Food & Wine. Weekends are very popular due to the special events.

Good luck! You can always stay at SSR since you haven't stayed there.

My guess is #1 and #2 are going to be very difficult. #3 less so, but still not easy.

Why not a studio at BWV? We were able to get this last Oct. With just DH and myself. We did 3 nights in a 1bdrm at Kidani and then 2 nights in a preferred view studio at BWV. Did not mind the split stay at all. It was very easy and almost like having two different vacations. Good luck. Let us know how it worked out.

Good luck. I agree, the thing that helps is the 1 bedroom. Keep in mind if you call on Sunday for your THursday arrival and decide to do #3 option, you will have to wait until Tuesday to book that with a Saturday arrival. I only know because I have to call for a Saturday arrival and my day to call is Tuesday. I just need to add a day to my arrival and am pretty sure I'll be waitlisting.

A studio would work, but I have points to use up and, since I have them, I would much prefer a 1BR. Plus, I *really* want a W/D in my villa since we'll probably be doing carry-on only.

Yup, planning on two calls. I still haven't figured out if I want to do a DP for any or all of the trip.

Called at 9am sharp this morning....as I expected, the value studio is not available. It was available for Thursday but not Friday. I don't want to waitlist since I will be dealing with borrowed points once I complete my reservation. If that waitlist came through, I'd "lose" my borrowed points since we won't travel before they expire.

I booked a standard studio (wanted Jambo but only Kidani was available...no biggie!) instead. I will still have enough points available to get a 1BR at BWV or BCV because I'd forgotten that I'll have 15 points available to borrow from my 2012 HHI allotment.

Just wondering... since the 13th was available and the 14th was not, should I maybe try calling tomorrow to see if maybe someone canceled and switched when their 7-month window opened? Like I said, I am not interested in waitlisting because I do have other acceptable options.

For the second part of my trip, I've decided on the following four options...

First choice: 1BR at BCV
Second choice: 1BR preferred at BWV (*this would actually be my first choice, but it is 1 more point so I'm making it number 2)
Third choice: 1BR at SSR
Fourth choice: 1BR standard at Kidani or Jambo (this would leave me with 7 points that would end up going to waste so this is really a last resort...no pun intended)
