We were planing on taking a taxi over to Chakanab for the day in Cozumel. Has anyone been recently and do you know the entrance fee for adults and children?

We were also going to take a taxi to 7 Mile Beach for the day. Has anyone done this, are their restroom facilities and somewhere to purchase a drink?

Thanks!!!!

We've done both on our own. Chakanaab is $10 for adults and children 8 and under are free.

As for 7 mile beach, ask to be let out at the Holiday Inn and you can buy drinks there and use the facilities.

Have a ball and save on excursions!

Is there a place for 'non-guests' at the Holiday Inn in GC? Or, do you just walk through the hotel?

I read you can get beach chairs. Any idea the cost? And, are the taxis back to the dock readily available?

Thanks.

At Chankanaab in January we paid $10 each for admission (including 9yo DS) and DD aged 6 was free. We took the taxis at the back of the shopping mall as you get off the ship, and the standard price was $10 one way. There were lots of taxis waiting at Chankanaab to bring us back, too. Make sure that ALL the seats in the taxi have seatbelts - not just the front seats!

We took bottled water, antibacterial wipes, and snacks with us, and after using the bathroom facilities (basic as opposed to awful) were pleased that we'd done so. We also took our own snorkelling equipment, but rentals were available too. There were lots of lounge chairs on the beach and casual outdoor restaurant facilities if you wanted them. The children were thrilled that we were able to see a couple of ignuanas sunning on the rocks, too. Including taxi tips, we paid $55 for the excursion for the four of us. I may not remember the prices exactly, but it seems to me that the Disney 1/2 day snorkelling excursion was going to cost us $45 each per adult and $35 each per child for a total of $160 (including rental of snorkelling equipment).

Hope this helps!

The Holiday Inn is across from 7 mile beach. Just ask the cab to drop you off at 7 mile beach across from the Holiday Inn. There was no rental fee for beach chairs. Just walk on the beach and they are there. The taxis are there lined up on the road waiting to take you back to the port.

I e mailed the Holiday Inn before we went and asked them if we could use their facilities including their pool and they said fine, no problem.

Hi Donna-

How long ago was that? Do you think they let anyone use the facilities? I went to GC last month on CCL but did a Sting Ray excursion and did not stop at 7 mile beach. Do you think going to 7 mile beach would make a good day for my 2 and 5 year old sons's?

Thanks!

Tiff, I hope you were asking me, I didn't see a Donna.

We were there in May of 2002. There is a bar on the beach to get drinks. Our friends were on the Magic May 10, 2003 cruise and she also e mailed Holiday Inn and they told her the same they told me. Again If you are interested in using their pool like I was, I would ask that question specifically.

It is a regular beach, nothing different than any other beach, except with a 2 and 5 year old be very careful as the shore declines rather steeply, and you are in far before you know it.

Hope that helps

Joanna
