CF card question?

I'm looking to buy another CF card for an XT (leave for WDW in 15 days). I currently have (2) 2GB Sandisk Extreme II cards - looking to add a 4 GB to the collection.

My question is if it's worth the extra cost to buy the faster III card (writes 20 MB/sec) over the II card (writes 9 MB/sec)? I remember reading somewhere about speed of cards being built over the speed the camera can actually process - kind of pointing out sucker consumers are tricked into buying extra horsepower that that can't even tap in to.

Thanks

I have both II's and III's in the 4gb size, and honestly I can't tell a difference when taking a picture, seams to go a little fast on DL to the computer in the card reader... but that's it. Really the bottle neck on an XT is going to be the buffersize over card speed at this point. IMO

Also, a 4 gig is going to be slower than a 2 gig. Just FYI, I have had 3 card failures - all were 4 gig - 2 Lexar pro and 1 Sandisk Ultra II. The good thing about buying the pro level cards is that they have lifetime warranties and, in the case of Lexar, that even included recovering lost images that I was unable to recover with any recovery software I had. I shoot only with 2 gig cards now and use the 4 gig ones (all replaced) for back-up.

Office Depot helped me with the question this morning - Sandisk 2 GB Ultra II for $19.99 after instant rebate (same price for SD). Can't beat that deal. So I'll go with 3 2GB cards.

There was one card left in the rack - still contemplating going back for it.

I just paid $35 for a 4 GB SDHC card @ Best Buy. The 2 GB SD was the same price. I know my camera (Canon S5) takes both but didn't realize what the difference was. Should I have bought the SDHC?
