My husband and I are considering DDP. Last time I did DDP was almost 5 years now so I can't fully remember.

When on the plan do they have a list of what you can get on DDP? My husbands concern is that something he wants won't be on the list of what DDP can order. Now I understand you can order off DDP and pay a little more but how restricted is the DDP in the restaurants?

I assume you are talking about the regular dining plan (1 TS, 1 CS and 1 Snack). For the TS, if it is a buffet or all you can eat place, you get the regular meal and a non-alcoholic drink. For a regular sit down dinner, you get an entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drink. You can order additional items such as an appetizer, speciality drink but those would be an added out of pocket expensive not covered by the ddp. At breakfast you would not get the dessert. I suggest reading through the dining plan pdf disney puts out for specifics.

Some restaurants offer a prix-fix menu (ex: Chefs de France) that you can get an appetizer with and it's covered under the plan. Every restaurant is really good about explaining what is covered.

If you are asking if there is a "special" DDP menu - there is not. If you are at a TS "menu" restaurant - your TS credit includes an entree, drink, and dessert. What would not be covered - but you can purchase OOP - would be appetizers and some specialty beverages including alcohol.

So, if you look at menus on Disney's sites or sites like allears.net - those would be the menus you are selecting your entrees, dessert, and drink from.

Hope that helps and clarifies.

We love the dining plan - but have always gotten free dining.

There is not a "class" system where you are only allowed to order certain things, but some restaurants are more complicated than others (Via Napoli for one) that exclude some things or Boathouse where some sides aren't included. If you know where you want to eat, definitely ask on the boards about going there on DDP. Also, the server will ask as soon as you sit down and explain what you can get.

All the details on the plan are here http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2015Dining.pdf

There aren't any restrictions on what you can order as long as it fits within "dessert" "entree" for the various courses.

Only minor restriction on drinks, no alcohol, no souveneer cups or glow cubes etc and a few third party resaurants may restrict you to soda / ice tea only, no speciality beverages, but at Disney restaurants milkshake and speciality is usually included.

BUT if you are paying for the dining plan check the numbers, if you wouldn't normally eat that much dessert then the plan may work out more expensive than paying cash.
