Ok so I was brain storming this weekend about centerpieces.
I am thinking of doing a waterlilly and lilly pad in a round bowl and putting sand/stones at the bottome.
How does this sound?
I am even thinking of trying to find some nice looking fish to put in the bowl too! (Disney ex-nayed the live fish idea)

Thanks!

Nkkilala, I’m not sure what your theme is but my guess is that it is aquatic. If it is, then what you have mentioned sounds absolutely lovely. Have you asked your Floral Event Manager for some suggestions, too? I have found that the experts are the ones with the most unique ideas, and those ideas are not necessarily always expensive. It’s definitely worth looking into.

For example, I had three main venues to decorate for my vow renewal’s dinner party, and my guests were going to be spending various amounts of time in each of those venues. Since the Gangster Area is where they would be spending the least amount of time, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money decorating it. My Floral Event Manager knew this and thus suggested very simple decorations. For the other two venues (Western and Land Of Oz), she suggested more lavish decorations because my guests would be spending more time there.

The cocktail portion of my party was being held in the Gangster Area. Since this venue was dark, my Floral Event Manager suggested sticking with black table linens but adding red-striped overlays to them for a splash of color. For centerpieces, she suggested simple column candles that were filled with red gel. This gel would emit a soft glow while the candles burned during the cocktail party. Here are a few photos:

The dinner portion of my party was being held in the Western Area. This was a well-lit area that was filled with earth-tones. My Floral Event Manager suggested keeping the earth-toned feel with the linen package and using Western-themed centerpieces for the dinner table. Here are a few photos:

The Land of Oz was where dessert would be served. This venue was colorful and fun. My Floral Event Manager suggested continuing the fun feel by using table linens in bright colors. She also suggested whimsical centerpieces that contained lollipops. Here are a few photos:

As you can see, my Floral Event Manager took the theme of each venue into consideration when she suggested ways to decorate them. She was the expert and I trusted her judgment. I can tell you that not only did she not lead me astray, she did not cost me an arm and a leg. I wish I could share the cost of decorating my venues with you so that you could see how reasonably priced my Floral Proposal was, but my husband would divorce me (I promised I’d keep that information private). But please trust me in that it was very reasonable. So that is why I asked you to discuss your venue with your Floral Event Manager. You just might be pleasantly surprised by what can be done for a reasonable amount of money. I know that I was. ;)

I hope that in some small way, my post helped. Have fun planning your wedding.
