Cell phones at Disney

Does anyone know if cell phones get a reception on disney property? I use Verizon, and the person I'm traveling with uses Cingular. Anyone have any trouble/experience/advice? Thanks.

I have Verizon also and have never had a problem in Disney.

I have Cingular and was actually a little surprised to receive a call while inside Space Mountain (next to the control center). I haven't had trouble with Cingular.

We use Cingular and have not had any problems with reception at WDW.

Coverage at WDW is good. You might find that its difficult in the middle of a large building (like an attraction) but out in the open you won't have a problem.

A tip though, have your phone on your body (belt clip or such) and have it on vibrate. That will greatly increase your chances of actually "hearing" it ring and greatly decrease the chances that it will ring at an inopportune time and spoil other's enjoyment of an attraction.

I use Verizon and my friend had Altell and we did great making connections. The only time I didn't get a call was on Soarin'. It was even ringing on EE.

Add one more good reception for Cingular. I have never heard of anyone having a problem at Disney no matter who the carrier is. I think you should be just fine!

I have T Mobile, but my sons both have Verizon and my mom has Cingular. None of us have ever had any trouble with reception there. In fact last Sept my mom's went off in the middle of the Lion King Show. She thought she had it on vibrate, but apparently didn't.

We have Cingular and have never had reception problems. Hearing the phone is sometimes a problem depending on where you are! We once got a call from our son-in-law (which we didn't answer!) just as we were about to make the first drop on Tower of Terror. It was really funny to us because that's his very most favorite ride.

I too have Verizon and never had a problem with service . I did have a problem with the guy (me) operating the phone ! I kept forgetting to dial the area code when calling home (you're on roam) DUH!!

DH has NExtel --don't want him to get calls from work but if I need him I want it to go through -- good luck on that because it's hard enough at a "regular" location!! Thank goodness I have verizon

If you look around while riding on the Monorail at GF, or on the way to AK (and other sites) you will see why you get such good reception. The odd looking trees that tower over the treeline are CellPhone Towers. The place is packed with them.

We have DisneyMobile and always get good reception, after all, they are magical!

Nextel gets perfect reception anywhere in disney! DF has nextel and we were there in March, and we figured he wouldn't b/c it's so sketchy everywhere else, but he had perfect service the whole week at disney... it was just magical!

I have never had a problem with Nextel. All 5 of us have Nextel and we get service everywhere. Even got phone calls on many different rides.
