Cell phone problem..

My work phone(Nextel) and DW's Tracfone(on AT&T) both worked fine on our June 08 trip. This was texting and voice. No data from the Internet involved. :confused3

I have had my curve for just over a month now and have Verizon. I have never had an issue with the signal. The only problem I have is the track ball is starting to not "catch" and will not move the arrow on the screen. But that is spotty and obviously just this phone. My husband has had a regular blackberry for 2 years now and has not had any problems.

Mine is catchy too. Started off real smooth and got glitchy after a couple months. That must be a Curve thing.

the only one i ever heard of that had a problem was virgin.. then i heard virgin doesn't have a problem.. but i think it was a roaming issue.

there is in fact a nextel tree.. er.. tower on site

My DH has a pay as you go Virgin Mobile phone - it works GREAT here at home, but in Florida, it is like the battery life gets sucked out of it after one phone call - I think it must having something to do with roaming or constantly searching for a signal, but I don't really know.

Our Alltel phones worked fine while we were there though. :confused3

WHo knows what the deal was then?? I have a razr and it doesn't get great reception in spots out in the farm land I live in, but I figured that was a tower problem. Maybe it was a phone problem.

T-Mobile here, both on KRZR's, and no issues! Low signal inside hotel rooms, but not loss entirely.

We have Sprint and in 2005 we did not have any problms.

I have a Treo and use Verizon and have had pretty good luck at WDW as recently as Nov/Dec 2007. I've had a good enough digital signal to go online while waiting IN line, to check menus and plan where we want to have lunch.

Ah... multitasking at Disney! :rotfl2:

The only place I ever had an issue with my cell was at POP. It hardly ever had any bars in the room. But as soon as I hit the bus stop I was fine.

I had next to no problems with Verizon in 2007. I mean, the signal wasn't GREAT, but where I live, the signal is never great. It was enough to make me happy though. I think someone mentioned phones being kind of spotty in line at Soarin' and I do have to agree with that one. I tried to text a friend and it took a couple of tries.

I have AllTel and a Moto Razr. (It's AllTel/AT&T now?) I didn't have a problem. I get a better signal in WDW than I do at home. I had a great signal inside BWV and all the parks. A couple of years ago when I had a Nokia, the signal wasn't as good.

DisFlan

I was kind of wondering if the electronics, etc at Disney interfered with the signal? I could get a signal at CBR but no where in any of the parks.

Wow, the opposite happened to me. Mine worked pretty well within the parks (carrier: T-Mobile), but for some reason where our room was located at CBR was a total dead spot. There were some other spots where I couldn't get EDGE service for data, but voice was good...

I have Verizon and the only time I had trouble with my phone was in Test Track. We were waiting for a pre-show room to open and I tried to send a text to my dad and it would not go through. Once we were in the loading area it went through. Go figure.
