Celebrity sightings at WDW??

10 years ago when I was working at WDW I saw Howie Mandell at the Yacht Club eating dinner (forgot what restaurant) and at work one day (Liberty Inn Epcot) Melissa Reeves (Days of Our Lives) and her husband Scott Reeves (As the World Turns) came through my line. Minor celebrities, but I met them.!::MickeyMo

Just so ya know, Scott Reeves used to be on Y&R, not As The World Turns, and he is now one half of the country duo Blue County.

Ji/mmy Carter and Family spent New Year's 2004 at Old Key West. Spoke with him at the pool and many DIS'ers saw them around the parks that trip. They are Disney fans and have taken a Disney cruise too

While the rest of my family was on BTM, my sister saw Muhamed Ali. He was in a car with Mickey, waving to people, no big parade or anything. She got a good pic of him.

Way back in the late 60's my family and I sat next to Lucille Ball in the Saloon at Disneyland. I don't remember details- I was only about 7.

Well, I don't want to start any rumors because if this gets out the place will be literally jammed with people, but I heard that Mickey Mouse can be spotted quite often at Disney World. In fact, when I was there in early March, he was everyplace I looked. Seems really friendly and accessable. He was there with his wife Minnie. I assume that she is his wife because they have the same last name.

Shhhh! Keep it to yourself or every one will want an autograph.

My wife saw A-rod (Alex Rodriguez to the non-baseball fans) entering through the exit of Fast Track. She was sitting there waiting for me (doing the baby swap). He had a CM and some other family members with him.

Also, I don't know his name (my wife does), we saw the guy who does Pumba's voice in Animal Kingdom. My wife stopped him and and we got a great picture and he did a few lines for us in the Pumba voice.

MGM use to have a celbrety every week that would come in and sign autographs. Not sure if they still do that or not.

I have seen Lavar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Jordy on Star Trek) at the Japaneese Resturant. He was eating at the table behind us. Very friendly and didnt mind that I asked to have our picture taken with him.

My husband spotted Doug Flutie in line at the Buzz Lightyear ride with his son once. He is a football player BTW. He is the only one so far. He is from MA and we are from NH so thought it was kinda neat.

This might have been a bigger deal a few years ago, but when we were there on 3/15, we ran into Joey Fatone from 'Nsync...literally, almost ran right into him. I was never a huge fan and he was there with his daughter, so we just said hello and went on our way.

Not sure if this counts but I saw Jimi Hendrix at Disneyland in 1969 doing a photo shoot on Main Street.
Wow, are you kidding? Of course that counts! That is so cool!

My husband saw Michael Jackson getting off Pirates in 1994. He was coming out of a side entrance and surrounded by a mob of people, I only saw the mob.

In 1999, my brother, his girlfriend (now DW), my father and I were in line for RNR at MGM and Britney Spears was in line so that whenever the line stopped moving, she happened to be standing right next to us. We were surprised that she'd actually be waiting in line, but it looked like she was just trying to be "normal" with a few girlfriends at Disney. My brother was skeptical, but just a week later, I read in People Magazine that she said RNR was her favorite ride at Disney World...

That's my favorite celebrity sighting!! :hyper:

Last year, DH and I were in Toontown and asked a CM to take our picture in front of Mickey's house. After she took the picture, she asked if we had met Mickey yet. I told her not yet this trip, but we were very anxious to. She said to meet her back there in 5 minutes. When we came back, she led us past the lines waiting at the Judge's Tent to where Mickey was waiting!! We got our picture taken, and as we left they were just starting to let the people who were standing in line go back for pictures. I was much more excited than the time I had backstage passes to meet Van Halen!! :hyper:

We saw Scottie Pippen at AK last May. He was just walking along with his wife while a CM was pushing his kid in a stroller.

We saw him at MK in May... must have been on the same trip!

There were a couple of CMs with him then. We walked right by him on one of the less-traveled MK walkways. My first thought when I saw him was "Humpty Hump"...

we were getting off the Monorail in Epcot...we have two VERY excited 6 yr old boys, who are "chomping at the bit":D to get down the NeverendingRamp and get to "Mission Space...now.. please Mommy!!!!"

...of course they are ruwalking...you know...run five steps, mom yells at you to SLOW DOWN and WAIT for ME...walk three steps...then run again...repeat ad nauseum:rolleyes:

So, in the middle of the last walk step, launching into the run sequence, one of the boys trips into the man ahead of him...

the man laughs, and to our very many "We're so sorry" (s), he says "That's ok, little man...I'm excited too...."

Wait...that voice....that hair...it's Morgan Freeman:D

:sunny:

Maybe not a minor celebrity, but certainly a "small" one.

Never have seen a celebrity at DW, but once delivered a pizza to the Smothers Brothers.

totally a Morgan Freeman line too! How cool!

About 10 years ago (or so), we were at the Grand Floridian and saw the whole cast from Full House (along with camera crews, director, etc.) standing in front of the main elevator in the GF lobby getting ready to film a scene that took place right outside the main lobby (facing the beach). I started video-taping them with my camcorder, and John Stamos was nice enough to walk right up to me to say "hi" into my camera. Snow White was also there with the cast entertaining one of the Olsen twins in between takes.

I haven't seen any celebrities at WDW yet but I have seen a couple outside of the "world".

I met a soap star "Lizzie" from "Guiding Light" on my first day of work around Thanksgiving 2003 got her autograph.

I also saw Drew Carey in my hometown's (Toledo, OH) Thanksgiving Day Parade on a golf cart, like around the early 90's.

Well, I was eight on my first trip to Disney. Our first time at MGM we were walking towards the Great Movie Ride and there was an extreme bottleneck. Since we had never been there before we didn't know how to respond to all the people in such a cramped space. Walking along trying to get to the ride we end up against this roped off area and there was Doug E. Doug (Cool Runnings). He had just gotten his square! He had gray goo all over his hands and was standing there talking to me while somebody was wiping them off. I had no clue who he was but everybody just thought that was the coolest. I was lost. Then, with clean hands he reached over and pulled my pig tails and said have a great day cutie. I instantly liked him but about four months later I was watching a television show with Bill Cosby in it and I let out this scream and mom came running in and I said "look, he's the guy who pulled my pig tails!" lol

I have yet to spot a celeb at WDW yet, but I have seen quite a few outside the world. The most memorable ones: 1985 visited "Bono's", Sonny's restaurant on Melrose. DH walked up to him and introduced himself, Sonny was very nice. Said, "here, my daughter Chastity will seat you." She was about 18 at the time, she walked us to the table, said, "here you wanna see a wine list?" and dropped it and walked away. She was not excited to be working in Dad's restaurant! The other time was 1997(?) in NYC, saw a play by Gary Sinese. Upon exiting, saw paparazzi gather around someone, so I started walking. Low and behold, I was walking next to Mel Gibson who was going to the backstage entrance! I am 5'2", and he was only about 2-3" taller than me! (sorry ladies!) My husband got to work as an extra on the Patriot with him years later, and said that he is super short, super funny, and super nice. And smokes like a chimney.
