Celebrity sightings at WDW??

Probably in the mid 90s we were staying at Beach Club, in lobby one evening saw Patrick McGoohan from the TV show in the 60s called The Prisoner. I think in early/mid 90s he was in a Disney TV show starring Hulk Hogan that seemed at times to be filmed at Disney World. I would catch this show while flipping through channels (can't remember title of show) I would think "Hey, that's The Land Pavilion" or something like that.

Several years ago when my husband and I were at Epcot he left me standing in front of the Chinese Pavilion to go get something quick to eat. It was evening and I was just hanging out there. All of a sudden the lights went black and I was so disoriented. I didn't realize it was time for the laser show. After a few minutes some lighting allowed me to see people gathering near the lagoon. Someone put there hand on my shoulder and asked if I was ok. It was BOB HOPE!!! (with his very young female "nurse") (his words!!) He was the nicest man. :) I explained where I thought my husband was and that I was pretty nervous now that he wouldn't be able to find me. He invited me to watch the show with him and his companion. Which I did, of course. When the show was over he shook my hand and gave my knuckles a kiss, assured me my husband would be right along. Then he turned around and walked back through a gate in the fence I would never have seen!! It was an amazing experience.

Thanks for helping me remember

Wishfulthinking. What a wonderful story! From all of the stories I've ever heard about Bob Hope this rings so true.

I'm glad you have that memory!

My husband swears he saw John Stamos at Epcot on Saturday (4/17/04).

Supposedly, Michael Jackson was at MGM mid-week, too, as Concierge Av. was closed off and noone could go back there.

My husband spotted Doug Flutie in line at the Buzz Lightyear ride with his son once. He is a football player BTW. He is the only one so far. He is from MA and we are from NH so thought it was kinda neat.

We saw Doug Flutie also. He was staying at the Wilderness Lodge with his family last May. I saw him in line getting breakfast and I pointed him out to my husband. I didn't tell my mother because she probably would have made a scene and probably kissed him. She kisses everybody. No one at the resort semed to bother him. Maybe he's not real recognizable.

Isn't it funny how celebrities always look shorter in real life.

I once read a bio. on John Lennon, and in it he talked about how guilty he felt when he took Julian to WDW and was able to bypass the lines with a guide. He said something to the effect that it made him very uncomfortable, and something of a hypocrite, but if he hadn't , their day would have been spoiled. I'm sure that people wouldn't have left him alone.

My niece, who used to be a CM told me to look for the CMs in plaid vests. They are usually the ones escorting celebrities.

My DH swears he saw Michael Chiklis from The Shield playing Mission Space Race April 4.
I glanced over, but if it was him, I said we should just leave him alone and give him whatever privacy he is able to have.
A lot of other people were standing around staring as well.

We were there during President's week this year and my hubby swears he seen Omar Vizquel (Cleveland Indians) at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at MGM. We also seen Doug Flutie at MK.

At Disneyland about 5 years ago I noticed Sally Kellerman (Hot Lips Hoolihan from the M*A*S*H* movie) walking by me. I had been pushing my stroller when someone else walked by with balloons and they got tangled up in the balloons tied to my stroller. I saw it was a CM escorting a few young kids. Sally stopped as we tried to get the balloons apart but it was a comedy of errors, they just kept getting tangled more. She started to get a little annoyed about it. Oh well.

I figure they were her grandkids. I wondered why she had an escort too. I figured it was to help deflect any attention on her from detracting from the visit for her grandkids. Kind of like if things got too crazy then the CM could take care of the kids and move them along? Not my biggest celeb sighting but for others it might be a thrill. But the only one at Disneyland; hope I have one at WDW during our trip this May!!
