Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars

My comments on the finale-
1. Trace's sob story about how the Red Cross helped his family. Ummm, sorry, but i don't for one minute think that the Adkins family couldn't afford their own hotel room after their *mansion* burned. I'm pretty sure that they have people that could have handled it. I thought that whole segment was laughable.

I live not that far from where Trace's house burned, just south of Nashville. While I don't know him or anything about his financial situation, his house was far from being a mansion. It was typical of the houses you see in this suburban area. Many of the country music performers do live in multi-million dollar homes but Trace was not one of them. While friends or his label might have rallied to support him the good thing about the Red Cross is that they were able to be there right away. I think he was on the other side of the country when the house burned so I think it was especially important to him that they were there for his family right away.

In this article Trace talks about the Red Cross showing up as they do 70,000 times a year when someone's home burns. He also talks about being grateful that his family had somewhere else to go and the means to do it. He also comments that the Red Cross is sometimes all people have (unlike his family).

It's not about what his family could afford, it is about having an appreciation for what the organization does.

Also since he realized just how much the Red Cross helps out he has since volunteered for the Red Cross several times so I do think he is generally thankful for their help when his family needed it.

I went to Walgreens yesterday and was sad to find tons of traces I've cream left and no Penns. My hubby loved Traces but it has nuts in it so I can't eat it. I fell in love with Penns ice cream and I generally hate ice cream so now I'm mad that I finally found a flavor I will eat and I can no longer find it.

In regards to trace putting nuts in his but having a child with food allergies I think it's ok he used the nuts/ my daughter has food allergies and we make sure she avoids everything she is allergic to but we do let her sisters have things she can't eat(they do have strict rules for eating foods their sister is allergic to like eat in a different room and wash hands etc..) for the benefit of this task I think he did the best he could and I don't think it's a dig to his daughter who has allergies. But I'm basing that off on my daughter understanding others can have things she can't and they shouldn't be short changed and my allergic daughter gets special things they can't have

Why? What is the difference between his guitar strap and the ever-present crosses around people's necks? Aren't they also "self serving"? And the "Jesus is on our side" crack from Trace came well before the live number on the finale. It was a tongue-in-cheek reference to Tim Tebow. My guess is that you wouldn't have blinked an eye if one of the other people playing had a cross or fish on their guitar strap. Oh, and FTR, I missed it completely and I'm also an atheist :rotfl:. So much for keeping an eye out for the "bat signal". I completely missed it *sigh*.

:thumbsup2 I'm a former agnostic turned Christian and I didn't even see the strap, but even if I did it doesn't offended me.

I didn't notice the guitar strap either and I'm a Jesus lovin' Christian.

:thumbsup2

I'll be honest too...I have a hard time understanding why a millionaire celebrity needs the assistance of the Red Cross for ANY reason. My aunt's multi-generation multi-family home in Arizona burned to the ground yesterday. The lost EVERYTHING. In fact, the firefighters stopped fighting the fire at one point because they had to take an OSHA mandated break. Just sat there while the house burned. No Red Cross folks showed up for them.

Sorry about your aunt's home - I know about those breaks. The union crew assigned to remove the 7,000 volt wires from my car after a crash finished their break before coming to help ::yes::

FWIW, Red Cross was a HUGE help to my sister when her house burned.

As for the show, I think Penn was terrific throughout while Trace was a little more inconsistent. I think what put him over the top was that when he WAS at his best he was THE best.

We'd have been okay with either guy though. Had no idea Penn was so bitter about his first appearance on the show. He seemed very like able to us both times.

I don't know, the actual time, that any particular comment was made, but many "confessionals" are recorded out of sequence. Honestly, there's not much spontaneity in reality shows...just saying. ;)

What's the difference, other than it is spelled out? Not getting into that discussion. I thought, it was unnecessary and don't understand, how it helps Penn's charity raise money or Walgreens sell ice cream.:confused3
