Celebration World Resort - has anyone stayed there?

My daughter and I are going to stay here alone in May. I read some reviews and someone wrote about the lack of security and workers targeting single women. That sounded sort of crazy to me, so I'd rather have the opinions of DisBoarders.

We are staying there free using a "Getaway Weeks" certificate. I am wondering if anyone knows if we are treated like hotel guests rather than owners, such as do we get housekeeping?

We have a 1 bedroom with a partial kitchen.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I am also wondering if we get towels. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

We stayed there twice the last two years. Mostly because they are an RCI Points resort AND they accept pets (the two pups - thats Toto over on the left -could come along). It is rather isolated - it is on Celebration property but not in the area most people associate with Celebration. The town is on the other side of I-4. This resort is near Westgate, Windsor Hills and Mystic Dunes.

It is rather plain, not much on site except a pool/spa. But it is easy to get to the parks, the buildings are nice and the staff helpful. I wouldn't rate it a top resort but its not bad.

Thanks so much - Toto is adorable, I hope other people bring pets so we have some to look at. We're flying, so no pets for us, but when I made the reservation, they kept stressing that it was one of the only places that allowed pets.

I think we'll be gone most of the time so it's okay with me that there isn't anything going on. Did you feel safe enough there?

Yes. They have a 24 hour guard house and security guards walk around (we saw them when we were walking the dogs). There are usually plenty of pets there so you'll get your animal fix!

We stayed there last October--also with Getaway Weeks certificate--and we loved it! We had a one bedroom deluxe; it was so easy to get back and forth to Disney and we felt very secure--with security staff on the grounds and at the gate. Yes...they provided us with towels. The location was excellent! I would definitely stay there again if I had the opportunity.

It's great to find someone else who used a certificate, it seemed too easy! Wish we could've gotten the deluxe too. My daughter was given the certificate so I don't know anything about them, did you have to do a presentation? I've only stayed on Disney property, was happy to see how close it was as I feel familiar with the area from taking the bus everywhere.

well I am single woman and stayed there solo - no problems. but hey I am old - because they are only after young women...'

if they have any problems with the staff at all - definitely write to the management.

they have hired everyone once and started over - maybe they should again.

on at one time the security was inhouse only - now they changed it and got really security guards and like really security guards these people are trouble. first of all they change them far too often - so you never to get the sg. (bad for business if you everytime you go you have to show ID - that gets old in a hurray - even with the resort parking permit) also they put a gate - so now you can sit there while they do who knows what. very unhappy with the new security guards - they are slow and don't care how long you wait.

hopefully by the time you go this would have improved.

Thank, I can picture what you are talking about and we'll be coming and going a lot. I'm old too, but my daughter isn't and she's way too independent for her own good. I feel a lot better about this after visiting with all of you and I really appreciate it!
