Celebrating with Mickey! ~A May 2012 PTR~

I'm Krystina and I'm pretty new on the boards. I am 26 and have been to Disney World once. I was about 6 years old and I believe it was about '92. I have a faint recollection of the trip...My grandparents took me and we stayed at the Dolphin and I remember the Dalmations movie being pretty big as well as The Little Mermaid then. I think. That was a huge splurge to stay at that resort but it meant less walking for them and that was a huge plus. All in all, we had a blast and although I don't remember much, my grandparents really seemed to enjoy it as well and it sparked a love for all things Disney inside of me.

Flash forward about 20 years..lol and I have a DS7 who now shares my love for Disney. I love the magic of it and try to share that with him each and every day. Innocence is one of those things that children have and adults lose..but its nice to know we can have our innocence back in Magic Kingdom.

Alright, now onto the bigger details


Now for the longest time, I have wanted to take my son but I guess we always figured it was out of our price range..I had no idea there was something for every budget! So we have began planning our first trip to WDW for in September 2011..and we are now just working out all the final touches. ...We're...really....going... !!!!

So we are officially counting down 60 days till we get to Florida and 61 till we're in Disney World!

//UPDATE 5/3: Imagine my excitement when I see that no..we are not counting down 60 days anymore...18 days now! WOW..a little more than 2 weeks..(a very little more)...and...we will..be strolling down Main Street hand in hand.

//Update 5/3: We changed resorts because we thought Jordan wouldn't be able to go and wanted to save some money...but once we read more about POP..we decided we would enjoy it more..and now Jordan is coming for sure..so we are sticking with POP..we are counting down 18 days to go..and we are ready to try the Tie-Dye Cheesecake!

Requesting 70's(In Honor of Nana(my mom) because these were her glory days lol and so much of the trip is about the kids...wanted to do something for her..I hope we all love the resort!)

Why? To celebrate with Mickey of course, to celebrate life, love, family, graduations, and to just be kids again.

We are trying to watch the budget as far as souvenirs and all go..so I'll be posting any great finds here. Also anything we have already taken care of pre-trip. So far we have accumulated:

What worked for us in December was a theme park merchandise sale that was featured on the Disney Store website while we were down there. It was 25% off all theme park merchandise plus free shipping. We were able to get quite a bit of our souvenir shopping done and it was there a couple of days after we returned home.

Just thought I would update a little since I haven't in over a month.... We found more goodies..including a new Disney mug that has Magic Kingdom attractions and the monorail on it..beautiful..we also found a Pooh and friends ball cap...a simple Mickey ball cap..and lots more plush animals..including one that is goofy dressed up as a stage hand from Hollywood Studios..sooo cute! we are so close...18 days to go. Any tips for a first timer?

You will love POP! Whenever we stay there, we always request the 70s wing, with a lake view. It's so beautiful in the mornings and very quite too.

That's exactly what we were thinking of requesting...are the lakeview rooms far from the food court and hippy dippy pool?
