Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

:lmao:

snending new car pixie dust but also hoping it stays dry between now and the hearing, nothing worse than a stinky car!

UGH on the crowds

Thanks for the pixie dust!! I'm sure the crowds will chill out by the time we get there. :thumbsup2

I’ve had a very crazy, crazy week! On Monday I received news that a friend’s dad died, FIL was in the hospital and her husband had a massive heart attack – all over the weekend! The FIL died a few days later – I think yesterday. Luckily I just heard that her husband is home from the hospital.

As you know, my car has been in the shop for the past couple days – still no word on whether they think they’ve fixed it or not…

This morning I had to take Alex to get a tooth yanked out of his mouth. He prematurely lost his upper right canine tooth due to overcrowding. The dentist wanted to remove the left tooth to keep his teeth from shifting to one side. Fun stuff!

Today a good friend found out that her husband has been having an affair for over a year! She is angry, sad, confused… I’m devastated for her and for her kids. I just can’t get it off my mind! She’s probably telling her kids why dad isn’t home tonight right now.

And tomorrow I have to take Zachary back down to Mass General for more autism testing. His neurologist is still on the fence about his diagnosis, even though his psychologist feels very strongly that he is on the spectrum. We’ll be having one of the additional tests that the neurologist ordered tomorrow. We got in for the test more quickly than normal because he is participating in a research study… which means I have a ton of surveys & questionnaires to finish up tonight. I’m glad I got most of them done last night because I’m not really in the mood tonight. Alex is participating too – I haven’t even started his paperwork yet… he doesn’t have to be seen in person because he’s had this specific test previously (ADOS – Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule).

I hope to still get my Week 3 To-Do List posted tomorrow… but if I’m late, you’ll know why.
Finally I want to add that tomorrow starts Autism Awareness Month. Celebrate those who you know who live with autism – they work so hard to do what you & I do every day. If you have the money, make a donation to an autism related charity. Wear blue on Friday in honor National Autism Awareness Day!

Thank you to all of the great friends I’ve made her on the DIS! You all share in my world of autism every day! And it makes me appreciate every one of you when I have a friend losing family members and another being hurt by them.

OK - done being emotional now. ;)

I am so sorry for all the issues your friends are having. That is too much to bear fo the friend with all the death in their family.

Ouch about Alex and the tooth. Bill has to have 4 teeth pulled, 3 wisdom and a molar.

That is so sad about your friend's husband having an affair. I hope it works out the way she wants it to.

Good luck with the test and the research studies.

We know you are busy and will be around when ever you post your lists.

I will make sure Bill and I both wear blue on friday!

Oh Amy! That is too much for one week. :grouphug: to you and to your friends who are going through such difficult times.

I will wear blue on Friday! And I will wear it for all the people with autism and for the amazing mom's who live with this and find a way not only to survive but to thrive. My hat is off to you and to all the other mom's.

What a roller coaster of a week. Sometimes life just throws it all at us at once. UGH.

Hugs that things start looking up!

Big (((HUGS))) for everything going on in your life right now. I'm so sorry for the death and the illnesses. I also am very sad for your friend, dealing with an affair. :(

We are very new to the Autism world and still am just trying to find my way. It's not an easy world to live in so I thank each professional, each mom and each teacher who has helped guide me so far. :) Good luck with the boys' testing Amy! I hope you get news either way about your minivan soon.
