celebrating my 40th at the World

OMGosh, so many cute dresses! Little kids today have it sooooo much better! :rotfl:

Now, I have to go check out the Wonderland Tea Party. :upsidedow

Since I'm solo (sorta for the most part), I don't think character dining is the thing for me to do. But I'm gonna check it out anyways. ;)

I don't sub to any of the touring plans either. With all the uncertainty about hours and park attendance levels, I don't see how they can guide for me. One is only a generic one and the other doesn't do EMH, it seems like it is a waste of money when I can look at it with my own eyes at the park and make a decision to what to do next. Then again, I'll be a part of 1 so maybe I'm a little biased. princess:

So now I need a little input.

This is my itinerary for Wed. March 11

Wednesday March 11
AK
Wonderland Tea party~ 1:30
Whispering Canyon ~6:30

Now we are not big AK fans, but I would like to catch the two shows, as we have yet to see them. I was thinking of trying to get there a bit earlier and and do one, then the tea party and then come back an do the other. It may not work out, and we will just go in the afternoon for one. It is an evening EMh day for that park.
I moved WC back to 6:30 from 5;30 to allow more time at the park. Actually I aksed for 7 and the lady said 6:30, but Ishe was hard to understand, so not sure if any later openings were available. So I guess I COULD try to move it back an hour OR I could try and make a character breakfeast somewhere and skip AK till after the teaparty and then get CS for dinner either at AK, or at Pop.
I like WC, but Hopp Dee Doo food is similar, so I wouldn't really be missing alot (except the yummy shakes)
Also DD isn;t good at getting up too early, especially since we will be out past 9 the night before, so it would have to be a late breakfest. But it then would allow more time at AK without going back and forth. I have read the the Lion King musical is on during EMH's, but not Nemo, so we could do Nemo first, and then try for the LK musical. If we get them done early, we can just go back and relax?
So what are your thoughts?

We are going to be there the same week and we are staying at POP also! Our plan is different but we both have AK on the same day. Your daughter is adorable. My DD is 4 and this will be her second trip, but this one is just us two!

I love all the dresses. At this point my DD is only bringing her Cinerella dress and a really cute Tinkerbell dress. Maybe we should bring more dresses

Have a magical trip :wizard:

If your DD likes to dress up, you may want to bring another dress or two. My DD dresses up all the time. Or you can jsut wash the dresses you have while there. We did that last year with 2 that got dirty. I just threw them in the tub and hand washed them with some shampoo.
They do take awhile to dry though, and I actually used my blow dryer on one to make it dry up faster.

I like the old pictures you posted :) Congratulations on the milestone birthday and hope you have a good time at WDW :)

Good thing I decided to make the switch to breakfast at Cape May.

I decided it might be better to just do a breakfast and not ry to run back and forth from AK and try to get in what we want. So I figured I try for Cape May or O'hana. I tried Cape May first and got it. They actually had alot of openings. We got in for 10:50.
SDo then I said I need to cancle my Whispering Canyon one for that day. I am on the edge on that one. I really like that place and hate to cancel, but I did want to try different places this year, and so far almost all our places were repeats from the pas t to years, with the exception of Akershus.
So I give her my confirmation number and she sasy "well thats been canceled already! WHAT? I just made it a few days ago, but I had also cancle another WC ADR at the same time. Well the dumb CM, canceled the one I made, and kept the one I wanted to cancel. I knew she was having problems understanding me at the time, and was leary if she got my stuff right. She didn't seem with it. :headache:
So I had this CM confirm all my other ADR's and they were OK. :)

So now with this 10:50 appointment, we could actually be tight to get to Wonderland tea Party, but I think we'll be OK. We will have a renatal car, and Ilooked on Mapquest and it' supposed to be less than 10 minutes to get to Beach Club from Pop, so we'll drive. I figure it should take an hour or so to eat. Also if we arrive early, we might get in earlier. So then we'll see what time it is after we eat, and either drive over to GF for the tea party or drive back to Pop and DH can rest if he wants and DD and I can hop a bus and go on our way.

Now Wonderland Tea Party serves lunch, but I have a feeling DD won't eat anyways. LOL! So between the 2 meals she should get something in her. She goes days wear she eats next to nothing and then others where she can't stop eating. I swear last trip she ate next to nothing for the most part. Sometimes I wonder if it is worht for her to be on the Dining plan, but I think DH and I, (especially) DH make up for her and more.

I'm also trying to talk DH into doing the Richard Petty ride along. I think he would love it. He hasn't said much, only that he doesn't want to drive one. But that day would be a great day to do it, while we are at the tea party. I plan to go take photos pf GF while she is partying! :cool1: princess:

The Famous Mrs B also got back with me last night and with in minutes I ahd the "Alice in Wonderland" dress ordered and paid for.

It is to ship out today and she said most arrive in 3 days! :cool1: :woohoo:

So I am excited. DD seemed excited when I told her too.

We are getting rain and warm teps here today so all the snow is melting. And our basemtn likes to flood in situations like that, so we've been watching it all day and had to bring in an extra pump to pump out the sump pump. I have told DH from day 1 that this this set up must not be right because why do we flood and every house near us doesn't. He finally said today he thinks the tiles are in wrong. Like it was a whole new idea he came up with. LOL! :rolleyes1 It just proves once again he never listens to me!

Great start! Your plans look good so far...I am jealous, you're going to be there over my birthday (March 12).

I love the comment about living in Ohio and the possibility of having a blizzard in March. Ain't that the truth?! We live in Wisconsin so it's the same here.

We have decided to take her Snow White, Cinderella, and Tinkerbelle dresses. Her Fav princess is Sleeping Beauty so I ordered the ballerina sleeping beauty dress with matching shoes. She will be so excited to get this dress!! We are in Northwest Indiana and the last few days it had been 60 degrees and now they are calling for snow on Saturday :confused3

Yay! I'm glad she got back to you! You will love the Alice dress. Did you see Disney Store Online has the 30% off today (of you spend $149 or more) The luggage is pretty cheap. That'd make up a good part of the $149 if you need some.

I gotta stop buying stuff though. LOL! :rotfl2:

Ok I got a email from Disney about the EMH for March 8. It gave me a number.
I just called and talked to a person, The EMH evening hours are for MK on March 8th, but Spectro is still scheduled for March 9.
So that is the best kept secret right now. LOL!

Also for those who don't know, the new mugs are now out.
I'm mixed on this. I wanted a new mug, but then after being set that it wasn't going to happen I decided we would save money and jsut bring ours from last year (I know that is soo wrong). So I think I'm gonna be good and bad. I'm gonna buy a new one for me. I'll let DH make up his own mind and buy one if he wants. And I will bring at least 1 cup from last year for DD. The thing is, she will barely use it. And she will use it for milk and stuff too.(she likes a straw for everything). If I get yelled at for filling a bit of juice for her, I'll dump it and/or buy her one. But I'll at least get a new one for me. LOL!

So I just said I wasn't going to buy anything else, but I did buy 2 books. LOL!

But I had a gift card and got a good deal. I got the Unofficial Guide and Birnbaums for kids.

I got the two for $22.

At first I was just going to get the UG, but then I read that if you bought $25 worth, then you got free shipping. It was over $20 just for the one book with shipping, then I found a $5 off coupon, so for about $2 more I got an extra book. I'm not big on Birnbaums anymore. In the past I did like them, but mostly I liked the pictures. :thumbsup2
But I have found alot of the info is not always accurate. My sister bought this years edition and she said it stated stroller rental for only $10 a day, but it was $18 when she got to the park. So thats a big mistake in my opinion. (and she was mad!) Anyways, I have old editions and Claire loves to carry them around and look at them. The most recent kids edition I have is from the 90's, so it's pretty beat up now.

So I am reading your report...dairy farmer, tractor pulls, are you sure your not in Iowa? We also have the dirt race track...noisy and dusty. Your trip sounds like so much fun and your DD is such a cutie. We are counting the days until our 1st trip!

:rotfl2:

DH just told me the other day that they added 2 pulls in Iowa for his class this year. But that is so far, and then in between them there is one in another state, so he thinks he's going to skip those two.

Theres a dirt race track not too far from us too. (15 minutes or so, which in the country is like your next door neighbor. LOL)

I love the way you shop woman! Claire is just so sweet.
Paige likes hangin with the old folks? I used to also, they always have great stories to tell. Your son Michael is very handsome. Nice family. :thumbsup2
Really looking forward to more. popcorn::

She is one who goes to bed at 8 or 9 and gets up early. And she eats dinner at 3:30 or 4. LOL She does love thrill rides though. When I used to take her an Michael it was so hard, as she wanted speed, and Michael gets sick from most rides. LOL!

I just read through your pre-trip report and thought since I'm a Buckeye too, I'd say hi.
Congratulations on the weight loss. Keep up the good work!
Your daughter is a cutey! I love all of her dresses.:)
I'm with you on the Ohio winters. That warm weather was such a tease because like you said we could still have a blizzard in March.:headache:
Is Allegient out of Toledo a pretty good deal? We only live about an hour south of Toledo. We have flown out of Detroit, Cleveland, and Columbus but Toledo is closer so I would be happy to fly out of there.

Can't wait to read the rest of your pre-trip and your trippie. :)

. :)

I don't think Allegiant really is that great, but I know alot of people do. It was in total about 100 cheaper than Detroit. We are flying down for 29, but I think it's 109 to fly back...BUT....then you have taxes...AND...if you want to be sure you sit together, then you have to pay at least $11 per seat pick each way. Being that we have a little one, I'm not chancing getting seperated... and then luggage is $30 per bag round trip for the first bag, lots more for additional bag per person. We just have one each though. So it cost us about a little over $660 for the 3 of us to go down and back. But I live 15 minutes from Toledo Airport and there isn't an ounce of traffic by that airport. Kind of just there in the middle of no where. LOL! Bu the down side to me is we have to rent a car and get our own luggae, etc. I prefer ME much more. DH on the other hand wants a car, and said he would get one no matter where we flew in at. He just likes to know he can leave if he wants or needs too. In 2007 we flew Allegiant and it was nice. But our car sat most of the trip. We drove to Chef Mickeys one morning and DH drove to look at the race track one day and thats all we used it for besides going back and forth to the airport. But this year I see it will be faster for us to drive to Cape May so we'll use it for that too.

So we need to liven this report up a bit. I feel like I do all the talking and hope you all are reading..

So I was hoping you all would share with me. I am kind of stealing ideas from other reports I have read. LOL! :confused3

I was hoping you would share a funny moment from a past Disney trip or any trip in general.

Here's one for us.

When I took Michael and Paige on thier first trip (with my mom) Paige was pretty clutzy. Actually she still is. :rotfl2: We were at MK on day and it rained really hard,. We went to the bathroom in Fantasyland and then came out and it had stopped. The concrete was super slippery and Paige took one step and was down in the splits. (she was almost 5 at the time). It was soo funny (I know mean mom). She was fine, and even laughed after she got dowm crying a quick bit. Then the next day we went to Epcot. Paige was in all of Spaceship earth and as we were aproaching the park she just kept looking up. I said "Paige, theres a pole, watch out for the pole, hey thers a pole!" And my mom had chimed in, and BAM! Paige walked right into the pole. Agiain we were dying laughing. (especially Michael) Mom mom hugs her and loves her while she cries and at the same time is looking at me and just laughing. And I too am trying to be comforting, but laughing too. It was so funny as it was like in slow motion and we kept telling her to look where she was going.
Then 3 days later we went to Mk on our last day. It was a rainy day and we had on ponchos. We decide we would leave, as it was oing to be an all day rain. As we walked towards the front we saw the parade goin on so we stopped and stood by a railing to watch it. Paige climbed up on the railing sticking her feet in the grooves. On the other side of the fence rail it went straight down into water. Maybe a few bushes. I told Paige to get off of it as it wasn't safe, and about a millisecond later both feet slip off and down her legs go through the railing. Luckily she had a peice of pole in between her legs and that stopped her from plumetting into this water. We didn't laugh so much that time. But I was in awe of how clumsy she was that trip. She still remembers it al land we all laugh about it now.:rolleyes1 :grouphug:
