Celebrating Easter 2011 on the Magic

According to NASA's site and some poster on the main forum, the Endeavor is scheduled to launch the day we are in CC. It would be pretty cool if we could see it from the beach.

We are on this cruise too! I read people are doing the fish extenders...Can anyone tell me how many rooms are signed up and how do I sign up? Also have never done this before, any suggestions on gifts to give.

I saw this same thing...I'm pretty excited...we might be able to see the shuttle while in port...might consider a quick jaunt over just to see it.

I'm pretty excited by the cruise in general but a chance to see the shuttle launch from CC would be amazing!

Hope to see some of you there!

p.s. haven't started packing...hoping to lose some weight before the crusie begins. That way I can eat like a pig on the ship and still fit into some cloths!

I think we had like 8-9 cabins/families signed up to do the FE exchange but the our FE organizer, PixiePrincessMom, was not able to get confirmation from a couple cabins that they still wanted to be included. PixiePrincessMom, any updates on the status/count of our FE group? Maybe you can repost the DISer names for our FE on this thread of those that are confirmed and see if others definitely want to join. I know we all want to firm up the count for our FE gifts and had set a deadline a week or so ago but maybe we can be flexible for newcomers?

Of course the FE exchange only works if the cabins that sign up actually do participate. It would be disappointing to bring and leave surprises for cabins but find out some of the others do not reciprocate. So please make sure you plan to participate if you sign up. I know my kids love coming back to the cabin to find surprises!

In terms of gifts, there are several threads on the boards with samples, suggestions, ideas. Some people go all out and make unique things - others like myself put together care packages of some little momentos and "consumable" items. Totally up to you. Hope that helps a little.

I've been too busy to post but my family is getting excited!

This will be our first Easter on the ship and does anyone know if DCL does anything special for Easter?

We missed out on FE sign up but excited for everyone who gets to do it for the first time, it's so much fun!

Not started packing yet, we fly in on the 21st and will spend couple days at Universal.

Yeah I agree....My dd and I had the best time that night looking for the rooms and leaving the goodies and she just LOVED coming back to hers and finding some as well. If my room number happens to changed I will leave a note with our fish extender gift.

Our first time at Easter too and the details are sketchy...lol...I have heard that the White Rabbit "could" appear...the CM wear ears...they may have a service onboard, but that is about it.

Hello everyone, we will be on the cruise as well. I try to stay off this site as much as possible but the closer I get I can't help it. This will be our 4th cruise and the second year in a row for the Easter cruise. It will be me, my DW, DS 16, and DD 14. I can't wait! There is nothing like hearing the disney cruise horn....my favorite!

We were on the Easter Magic Cruise last year and we had brunch on Easter and there were a number of Easter decorations in the restaurants, around the ship, the pictures, etc. I believe the Easter Bunny did come too.

When we were on last year you could get an Easter Basket delivered to the room. It was not Mickey themed though.

Very cool that you live near us. I work in McLean.

The basket was there when we checked in on Saturday so, no, it was not delivered on Easter. I just went in and hid it and then put it out while my boys were sleeping.
