Celebrating Anniversaries at Disney

Congrats to everyone for all the anniversaries! We too are celebrating our 20th in May. And yes, we'll have the kids too! It's O.k. though, because when you've been married as long as us, you really don't mind - we love having our kids with us! Love all the ideas, we really haven't planned an evening 'just for us' although we have ps at 4 restaurants and I will call back and tell them its our anniv. Our WHOLE trip is our anniversary present, I plan to make every day a memory!

Here's hoping SPECIAL Pixie Dust falls on all of us!

"Come on Everybody Let's Do the Dance!!!":jumping1: :jumping1:

We'll be celebrating 3 years of marriage this October during the Food & Wine Festival. We'll be staying at BWV. Haven't made solid plans as of yet, but some ideas I have are:

Celebratory dinner at either CG, Wolfgang Puck's or other yet-to-be determined destination.

Maybe a couple's spa treatment at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa?

We celebrated our one-year anniversary with a couple days in WDW and then a 4-day cruise. We enjoyed a Surial Spa treatment and a couple's massage on Castaway Cay.

Maybe I'll find some great ideas from you all!

Us too - we are going for our 6th anniversary and my dh's birthday! We don't have anything planned except the trip itself. I'd like to order some champange - any idea's on where to order it?

Can someone tell me all about the
Rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill ?

Thank you!::MickeyMo

gingermommy94,

We will have our kids as well, I couldn't imagine them not coming. When we were on our honeymoon floating around Castaway Creek at TL we made a pact that we would come back 10 years later and show our kids (which we did not yet have obviously) the magic of Disney. We have managed to sneak in 2 trips with our 2 children already, so it won't all be knew to them, but now they are 7 & 9 a perfect age. We have talked the kids into the Neverland Club so we will have some time on our own. Their ages also make for an easy time of it, no diapers, they dress themselves, great swimmers, etc.

Others just don't get it when I say we are celebrating our anniversary in Disney and with the kids, but we do and that's what matters. It's nice to come on these boards and know there are others who feel the same way we do.

Congratulations to you and enjoy your 10 years of Magic Family Trip!

I couldn't agree more! ::yes:: I just couldn't imagine taking this trip without the kids. My kids are about the same age as yours! Looks like we have lots in common ;) Congrats to all of us..and I can't wait to compare anniversay trip reports! :Pinkbounc

Haven't done the ceremony myself yet, but it sounds like they have you stand up, say a few words, and kiss to 100. I've already made sure my kids can use our new digital camera to make a memory of this! They will all be surprised. As for the champagne I saw on another thread that you could probably ask at the front desk for them to help you arrange this.

Is there anyone out there who has actually done either of these?

I didn't mention earlier that we will also have our kids with us for our anniversary trip. I would never do a vacation without them. They are only little once and DH and I have the rest of our lives together. Happy Annivesary to all of you. It is nice to see that there are so many couples out there that are as happy as us.

For those of us celebrating #10 the 'gifts' are tin/aluminum (how romantic) and diamonds. Not sure about the first two, and don't know that I can afford the diamonds after paying for this trip. Anyone happen to know if their is a jewellry store at Disney, maybe diamond Mickeys for me?, or anything made out of aluminum or tin? LOL! Let's brainstorm.

DH and I did the Rehitchin' Ceremony for our anniversary last May. After we had finished eating, four CM's came up to our table with the rehitching certificate and a cake. They basically said "do you..." and then made us kiss for a count of 100. :love2: We had a blast. The Garden Grill is a great location for rehitching because it is one of the smaller restaurants and it is curved, so the ceremony is pretty intimate. The CM's were great and one even picked up our camera and took a couple pictures for us.

Who has celebrated their anniversaries in Disney?
What did you do?

My husband & I have celebrated many anniversaries in WDW. We normally have our anniversary dinner at Victoria & Albert's, but there were times when we've celebrated at the Luau or the Hoop-Dee-Doo. No matter what we did, we always had a wonderful time. We just love vacationing in WDW.

Last year's anniversary was different. I had an accident and was disabled for a few months. Since our vacation was almost cancelled due to my injuries, I wanted to do something extra special to thank my husband for having supported me through the "sickness" part of "in sickness and health." We celebrated our anniversary with a private dinner party inside the Disney Studios Theme Park (I wrote about it in my trip report on the Dis' Trip Reports Forum). It was magical and I will cherish the memories of it always.

This year's anniversary will see us renewing our vows inside Disney's Wedding Pavilion. My husband and I watched the pavilion being built during one of our vacations years ago, and we always said we'd renew our vows there someday. Well, that someday has finally come. I know it will be magical.

Whatever you chose to do to celebrate your anniversary, I hope it is followed by many, many years of happily ever afters.

Many Disney watches come in tin cases. Beyond that if you want to get a present at the parks, you're probably limited to games or candy in tin cases. If you get a present before going down, you have many options. One good choice would be one of the Disney Treasures DVDs that come in tin cases. The first two series have been discontinued and are not available in stores. The third series is going to be released May 18th, but that might be too late for you.

We are planning to do this same thing on our 10th anniversary in 4 years. That's also when we'll buy our DVC. My mother didn't like DH so at our reception she made a very loud bet that IF we stayed married 10 years, she would give DH 1000 dollars. We plan to use that grand towards our DVC down payment :)

What a beautiful story, your DH is very lucky to be married to someone as sweet as you!

DH and I will be celebrating our 8th anniversary at WDW and on the 3 night Wonder cruise this October! The 20th is our anniversary day so we are planning to eat at Citricos that night. I did not plan anything for that day yet. I noted we are celebrating our 8th on our reservations and will tell Poly concierge when they make our PS too. We have some fun things planned like MNSSHP, the Food and Wine festival, the Segway tour at Epcot and lunch with an Imagineer at MGM. I hope we can get open air massages on Castaway Cay too!

I would love to renew our vows at the wedding pavilion in 2 years for our 10th. I told DH this and he liked the idea, but I would also like to go to Europe so it depends on how much we save before then! :hyper:

Oh, Keriannhoward, your story made me laugh! How cute! I hope you get to collect. My father promised my husband $20,000 if he married me. My husband, silly fool that he was, believed my father. We've been married for quite a few years now and my husband is still hoping to "collect" that money. So far, no luck. I hope you're a little more successful than my husband is. ;) By the way, we are DVC members and love it. We'll be spending part of our anniversary trip in our home-away-from-home (the BoardWalk Villas).

Just checking in... DH and I will be celebrating our 10th the last week of May. We've been down that time of year several times before, and it's always great. For the 10th, I'm surprising him with something (shhh, he's on these boards too) and we're doing V&A on our actual anniversary (28th). We're childfree, but as DVC owners we almost always end up taking some family with us. Not this trip! Our first few days we'll be at AKL concierge to do all the special safaris, then we'll move to BWV. Can't wait!

That sounds great! One of these days we'll splurge for AKL concierge, too...we really want to do the sunrise sufari.

My husband and I really wanted to get married at Disney World but didn't just so that all the family could be around us. We vowed that at our 10th anniversary we would renew our vows at Disney World so thats what we will be doing next November. We will probably do it at the boardwalk since the Wedding Pavilion requires a minimum of $10000 from what I've heard. We will just do something small at the Boardwalk which is where we own DVC anyway so it will be nice. We will probably have a few friends and family down there so maybe we can plan a Magical Gatherings event or something. Since it isn't until Nov 05 I figured I'd have some time to plan. Thanks for all the tips on this thread and congrats to everyone else celebrating out there.

We're going for our 5th anniversary in October. So far, we're doing MNSSHP, Cirque, and Keys to the Kingdom tour. A couple of years ago, we were there for the New Year and bought a glass picture frame and had it personalized with our names and the date. We thought that this year, we'd get something else personalized on our anniversary, like glasses or something.

I've also bought (er, should I say am making payments on) a ring for him. I bought a bear that plays "When you wish upon a star" and holds a box that I'm going to put the ring in to give him. I just can't decide whether or not to try to bring it all the way there and give it on our anniversary, or give it to him the night before we leave so that he doesn't have to keep up with it all during the trip. I feel that it would be so much more magical to give it to him there, but I kind of worry about bringing it that far and the aspect of loosing it or having it stolen...any ideas/thoughts??
