Thanks. I'm sure you look fine :goodvibes in the picture. I don't like myself in pics either though so I get that.

OMG NIchole - you are already there and back and have 2 installments posted in your TR?!!! You are amazing!!!

Welcome back!!! :goodvibes Sorry to hear it was so rainy! That seems to be the general consensus from a number of people just returning - how unfortunate! And I have to laugh at your thoughts about wanting to get out of the rain at home and into hot, sunny weather at WDW! Who would have guessed, right?!:confused3

I am sure you had a great trip anyway and can't wait to hear about it!

SS certainly looks nice. However, from the little bit I have seen I agree with you about the lack of theming.

Can't wait to hear about the Poly Meet!:goodvibes

Oh, and I must say, I am also shocked the teacher excluded 3 of the children from being in gowns and hats. How silly!!! If nothing else, (and of course I think it was inappropriate for a whole bunch of reasons!), but if nothing else it makes the pictures look disjointed with 3 kids not matching their classmates. :confused3

Great updates Nichole! I'm so excited that you started already.
Your room looks so nice. I LOVE the view! It looks like a postcard :)

I hope your food reports get better throughout the trip!

It's unfortunate that we were there and are back already :sad2:, the week went by fast. SSR was really nice but it just seemed very condo like to me. Which it is a DVC resort so I guess that is why. I would have liked AKLV, VWL or BCV better I'm sure. We liked for the most part.

Those pics are awful aren't they :sad2: and the fact that she excluded them from a song and printing their names on the program. So glad I wasted my time going there, I could have left for Disney on and evening flight. I will have another installment soon. Thanks for reading :goodvibes. So do you have anything planned for this year yet?

Thanks :goodvibes so much. The room was nice enough and we loved the location. It wouldn't be our resort of choice in the future. We did have some good food on the trip just not at SSR. We didn't try Turf Club though and I have heard it's excellent. I will have another update soon.

DAY 1 Arrival day, completed...

The kids were ready to swim and try out the slide at the main pool. So we got our swimsuits and sunscreen on and headed back to the main pool. i had no problem finding a chair to put our stuff on. Tom went over to sign out a life vest for Thomas for our stay. Kaylee was just about to put her feet in at the zero entry part of the pool, when a lady told her the pool is closed. I asked why and they said a kid puked in it so the lifeguards shut it down until it is cleaned  :scared:. Okay I guess we won't be swimming here today.

So we took our stuff and headed back over to the pool in our section in Grandstand. The thought of swimming in a vomit pool just didn't appeal to me . S owe spent the next hour and a half at the Grand stand pool. It was very nice and not crowded in the least. So many chairs and tables and a mug refill and pool bar. Also there was a splash/fountain play area. It was nice for a quiet pool and was vomit free so a huge plus there .

After a while Tommy went over to see if the main pool was open and it was. but I still didn't like the idea of the kids swimming there. But they wanted to try the slide . So we walked over. By time we got over there it was closed again. the lifeguard said something went down the slide and that something should have been in a swim diaper . It was baby ruth of course. I don't understand why people don't put swim pants on their non potty trained children. Not nice or Disney like to ruin peoples swim day of their vacation. I wish lifeguards would check for this for the children under 3 at least. Thomas wore swim diapers at Disney until he was 3.5 ,though he was trained and would never go to the bathroom in a pool. We do have a pool in our yard which is why I know this, better safe than sorry though IMO.

I decided we would be staying away from this pool for the next 2 days at least :snooty: yuck. It was getting late anyway and we hadn't even had dinner yet. We went back to the room to take showers and unpack. Our missing bag was also there :yay:. It was now 7:50pm so we decided to go to Poly and eat a quick dinner at Captain Cooks and then go to the beach to watch EWP. I was looking forward to meeting up with some DIS friends :grouphug:.

Of course the bus to MK took over 30 minutes to arrive and another 25 to get to MK :headache:. I was starting to miss having our car already. When we finally got to MK we hooped on the monorail to Poly and then went right to Captain cooks. I like the flatbread pizza they have there. I sent Tom to order our meals while I grabbed a table and called Sara to let her know I would meet them right after dinner. Unfortunately it was now almost 9PM and we wouldn't make it to see EWP :sad2: which the kids and I do like.

Captain cook's counter service was good as usual and nice and quiet too. We were really hungry and quickly finshed our food. Then we headed to the Poly beach to meet Sara, her DH Shawn, Michelle and her DD Samantha. It was so fun to finally meet them and to be able to talk to Sara for more than 1 minute like in October. It was like I already knew all of them and didn't seem strange in the least. Even Tom later told me that you were all nice people. I don't know what he was expecting .

Kaylee was happy to meet Samantha and they hit it off after only a few minutes. Samantha is a very pretty girl and seemed to have a sweet personality to match. I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the girls because they found there own hammock to watch Wishes from and we didn't see them for a while. Also we got to meet Becky (ladybugmom) and her family during Wishes. Her DD's were adorable as well.
Tom didn't mange to take any pics of us  but he did take a few of Wishes to just try out our new camera. I'm sure he was trying to get some tips from Shawn.

I guess Thomas was getting tired and a bit fussy. This wasn't our best day for picture taking. So if any of you girls have a picture it would be great if you can post it. After Wishes Tom took Thomas back to the resort since he was tired. Kaylee and I stayed for a bit before saying good bye to Sara and Shawn.

I promised Kaylee I would buy her a Polynesian pin for her collection. So we did a quick stop in the store with Michelle and Samantha. Of course Kaylee wanted to buy the entire store :rolleyes1. I really needed a new pair of Mickey earrings so I got those while I was there. We walked over to the monorail together since they parkd at the TTC. Kaylee of course asked about riding in the front of the monorail. They had two seats available so we let the girls ride up front and we rode behind them in the next car. I guess the girls had fun and even got a monorail license. It was a short trip over to MK and then we said good bye to Michelle and Samantha. Kaylee liked meeting Sam and they exchanged emails to keep in touch. I liked meeting all of you and wish we would have had more time together :goodvibes. We got back to our resort around 11:30 and fell right to sleep. The next day was our waterpark day and dinner at WCC.

Coming up: SSR screws up our reservation & Blizzard Beach!!

Great update! :thumbsup2 Ugh, so gross about the pool... I totally agree on the swim diaper thing!

Thanks for sharing those Michelle :). You don't look like you been touring all day to me. At least you can't see your bra through your shirt :scared1: like me in that picture. Oops - sorry Nichole! I didn't notice that. Do you want me to remove the picture?

LOL Nicole - I didn't notice about the shirt till you said something! :rotfl: ;)

Great update but that is soooo gross about the pool! Ick! :scared:

I will have to try CC next time for more than just breakfast because the flatbread sounds really good!

Glad your other bag showed up! :cheer2:

That picture of Samantha and Kaylee is adorable and that's so cute that they got to ride up front on the monorail without their Mommies! :cool1:

:rotfl2: I don't think you could see it in person. I always wear beige for that reason . Good thing it was dark :goodvibes. The flat bread is so good. We tried it SSR and it was grose. I know Kaylee was probably happy there was no room for us moms ;).

Oh yuck! The pool stories....:guilty: So gross! I could never go to WDW and not have my truck. You should have called me...I would have used up those last couple of CS meals! :lmao:

You met a ton of people on this trip didn't ya?

Oh, Yucko on the pool situation:sick: I would have stayed away for a few days too!!

The Wishes fireworks from the beach look very nice!! sounds like a nice evening.

Next time we will have our car there :goodvibes. We did use up all the CS but had a few snacks left. Figured they would be good to keep the kids happy on the flight. I think we met 6 families, some were just coincidence and a few were planned. We didn't go to the big May meet at Epcot though.

The pool situation  just yuck. Yes it was a fun evening meeting up with Dis friends.

Great update Nichole! :goodvibes

The Dis Meet looked fun! And great that Sam and Kaylee hit it off - I am sure they are bound to meet again!;)

Drag about the slow transportation. I only did Disney transportation once and 99% of the time it worked great. However, your post reminded me why I always now spring for a rental car. Murphy's law it is always that 1% of the time that the bus is running late that you have to get somewhere quick. That's also always bound to be the time when you need to go from resort to resort, having to transfer!:rotfl:

You asked if I had anything planned for this year...I actually went with DD in March to the Contemporary. I know - your favourite resort - not!:rotfl: We actually loved it!!! DD was on :cloud9: I know it is not your style, but the room decor is hands-down my favourite resort on WDW ppty. Overall though the Poly remains my number one resort all things considered! So don't think I have changed my mind on that one!;) I am also thinking about a quick weekend trip this Fall. Not completely sure.

Can't wait for the next update!:goodvibes

We were late for lots of things this trip. It didn't matter if we allowed and hour or more. Never had this problem at CBR and we had 7 bus stops there and 5 at SSR. At CBR buses seemed to come frequently and I don't think we waited more than 20 minutes ever. Tom and I both like having our car there.

:yay: For you and DD staying at CR. Kaylee really wants to stay there. I do love the look of BLT and the location is the best for DVC. But I'm not crazy about the room pics i've seen of the CR rooms. I guess maybe they are too Contemporary for me . I would consider staying there though I just Love the theme of Poly & BC the best. So I guess your not doing a trip report for your March trip :confused3. Well I hope you get to go in the fall for a getaway :goodvibes.

GREAT update Nichole! GROSS about the pool! Loved reading about your positive experience at the Grandstand pool though:thumbsup2 Sorry about the busses! Were they bad the whole trip? Dis meet looked so fun and I LOVED the pictures!! Looking forward to more!:goodvibes
