Celebrating A 5th Birthday with Mickey & Rain,May 2009! Completed..

Hi Nichole! Great updates...sorry for being a bit behind. I'm so glad that Thomas got to see Remy. :goodvibes What a bummer about the pin code. If we got one we couldn't use it either though. Hope your Dad starts doing better.

Okay I know I said I was going to write up my TR but I had to stop and see what you added! I LOVE the Remy pics! He is the cutest thing EVER! My favorite is the pic of Thomas w/ R in the background. Awwww!

I so wish you could use that code! I'm praying that we will get one. I'd rather have free dining than 40% off the room. If you would homeschool K that school thing wouldn't be an issue! :rolleyes1

Okay back to your TR...love the acrobats. They're amazing! And your Mulan!!! I've never seen that one. Every single time we've met her it's been the same one. I was beginning to think she was the real deal. The on and only true Mulan and then you go mess up my fantasy! :rotfl2:

So awesome to get picked for the candy again! I saw a piece of that show on one of these recent trips and she was so good at the candy thing. Question is...how do they taste?

I totally understand your frustration of getting a pin code and then not being able to use it. The one and only pin code email I got, I couldn't use. It was during school and I just couldn't take my son out especially since it was at the first of the school year.

That stinks you can't use the Pin! Too bad, I would have been so excited to get one too. Fingers are crossed that you can talk Tom into an anniversary trip :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 I could use that pin code. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Remy is so adorable!! HOW CUTE!! My kids would love that! And the acrobats are amazing!

Hope things slow down for you soon!

Hopping over a bit late. Noticed your TR title in I think ladybugmom's report. Since we were in DLR celebrating my DD's 5th the same week I had to come check out your report. Boy there were a ton of Disers at WDW that week. I keep reading about all the rain.

I love how frugal your DH is with refusing to take a cab. You know I admire that as I'm pretty much the same way.:lmao: We really will have to try to get to the characters first thing at Epcot. That is an amazing photo op. Were there people right behind you trying to be first?

Remy is adorable... and look at that happy birthday boy!!! His face just says it all!

Kathy

Thanks :goodvibes Thomas loved Remy!

That does stink.... that is crazy, especially with her being such a good student...

I will definitely do a TR. I haven't decided whether to do a PTR. If I do I probably won't start it until November. By then I'll have the flights booked (hopefully - the rates came out this week and I'm hoping to hold out for some lower fares...) and all the dining in place.

Anyway, I hate you can't work it out to go then... Are you going to have to do summer trips from now on with the school situation?

Sorry to hijack your TR!!

Your not hijacking :goodvibes at all. I guess we have to go during fall break, Spring break or when school gets out. Unless it's ashort trip that she only misses a day or two. I hope you are able to find airfare for a better price.

Thanks Leanne . Me too! A bit bummed about the code. Not sure if we are going to use. I wish it for May then I would just book for SW weekend when school gets out.

Thanks Tammy. Wish we could use that code. But even if we can it will still be a short trip because of Tom's work. Kaylee is opposed to HS, she likes school for the most part. Too funny about Mulan, I noticed that too. This year Thomas was picked for the candy animal. He says they taste good :goodvibes.

That stinks doesn't it? Wish they would send all of us good customers a code we can actually use.

That stinks you can't use the Pin! Too bad, I would have been so excited to get one too. Fingers are crossed that you can talk Tom into an anniversary trip :goodvibes

Thanks :goodvibes. Tom said we could go for a weekend by ourselves in December. But it would be for 3 days and the code is for a minimum of 4 nights, figures. He wanted to go to Cali Grill for dinner.

:rolleyes1 I could use that pin code. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Remy is so adorable!! HOW CUTE!! My kids would love that! And the acrobats are amazing!

The pincode unfortunately is non transferable, which sucks. i would like to be able to give it away since we won't use it. Remy is adorable.

Hello and thanks for reading :goodvibes. I'm sure your tired of reading all about this rain ;). Do you have a TR for your DLR trip? Would love to go there sometime. Yes another family was also heading to Character spot. They have done it before though. That is funny :lmao:, my hubby annoys me with his cheapness. I told him time is money at Disney.

All caught up! Remy is so cute - I didn't know he was so little!

DAY 4 -Hollywood Studios or the Wettest day of the trip!

This was the day Thomas and Kaylee had been waiting for. he couldn't wait to see and hopefully get picked for Jedi Training. Kaylee was looking forward to riding RNRC. We had a quick breakfast of cereal and poptarts in our room. Then got ready and made our way to the bus stop. As usual we waited 30 minutes for a bus.

By time we arrived and headed to the rope drop. The CM's were already letting everyone in the park. So I had to come up with a plan B. Which was for Tommy to get the FP's for TSM and then meet over at RNRC so we could ride standby and get a babyswap pass too. This way we would be over to Jedi Training long before the first show of the day. Seems like we waited a while for Tommy and it started drizzling so we tried to stay under the overhang. Tom arrived with TSM FP's in hand and there was still no wait for RNRC at this point. Kaylee and Tommy went first while Thomas and I waited for the min the giftshop. That giftshop gets on my nerves because it so loud in there :headache: you can't even think. I must be getting old. Kaylee loved riding it again. So her and I rode next. Tommy was going to take Thomas to line up for Jedi Training since it was supposed to start in 25 minutes.

Kaylee and I waited about 5 minutes to ride but she passed on riding in the very front, so we took the second car. After we were done we walked over near Star tours. Tom called me on the way and said they canceled Jedi training :sad2: since the ground was wet and it was so cloudy too. It started to rain on our way over and Tom had the bag with the poncho's. They had just got done riding ST so we met out front and had to get a picture of the kids on this. Keep in mind these were not taken with the good camera, because of the rain it was easier to put this one in my bag. We had a hard time getting Thomas off of this, good thing there was no line.

We had about 10 minutes before we could use our FP's for TSM so I thought we would go see the TS characters while we waited since it just opened. I love the photo ops in here. Kaylee took a few minutes to do some pin trading with the CM.

Thomas couldn't wait to see Buzz & Woody!

Then we walked into the FP's return line for TSM. The kids sat together and Tom and I did. Thomas beat Kaylee's score this time. After we were done it was getting close to the next time they do Jedi training. So the boys headed over there while Kay and I got FP's for TSM again. Our return time wasn't until 2:30. We took the back way over to the ST area. Unfortunately they canceled the show again. Thomas was very sad but still understanding. At this point it wasn't raning but the ground was wet. We checked to see if we could catch HSM 3 Schools out since they didn't start that show until after our October trip. Of course it was also canceled because the ground was wet. The cast would be doing Meet & Greets later though.

As usual we skipped Great movie ride. But Tom and I wanted to go see One Man's Dream so we walked over there next. It started to downpour by time we were parking the stroller and it never stopped the rest of the day. We looked at all the exhibits and they were really interesting. Then we waited for the theatre to open. I was enjoying the movie about Walt Disney when I heard snoring :rolleyes1 I looked over and it was Tommy. Kaylee was also dozing off, which surprised me since she loved doing her report on Walt's life. I learned even more in here then I did when I helped her research her project. BTW her school project didn't win which was dissapointing :snooty: guess there are not many Disney fans around here. Thomas loved seeing how Mickey came to life and all the steamboat Willy cartoons. I was glad an almost 5 year old appreciated learning about Walt. He calls him Mickey's dad. When it was over the sleepy heads woke up.

We had to poncho up and walk over to Sci Fi for our lunch there. This was another first for us. We checked in and waited about 5 minutes for our car/table. I loooked around to see if I saw MaryAZ and her family but it was so packed in there. We let the kids sit in the front of the car which was excellent! It was very cool in there. We also had good service. The movies they played weren't bad at all, my friend told me her kids hated it and were terrified of the movies. For lunch Tom and I both ordered the burger and shakes. Thoams had pizza of all things and coke. Kaylee had a burger and fries. The waitress was nice enough to let the kids split Tom's shake and then Tom ordered a cherry coke instead. The food was good but the atmosphere was so fun!

Excuse my hair, it was in a wet pnoy tail because of the rain.

For dessert the kids each got sundaes, Tom had cheesecake and I had the chocolate peanut butter cake. The waitress gave Thomas a card signed by the CM's working there and even made him a special sundae, which was so sweet. Kaylee had the tiny sundae they give kids which didn't thrill her. The desserts were excellent and everyone liked Sci Fi. Kaylee said it was tie with 50's PT for her though.

Continued: Hollywood Studios and the rest of Day 4

When we finished lunch, it was pouring outside again. The lobby for Sci Fi was so packed it was nearly impossible to put on poncho's. There was no way they were doing Jedi Training for the show in 15 minutes. So we went to the Animation studio instead. Kaylee and I did the art class, while Thomas met characters. We saw Frozone first though. In the art class we drew Eeyore. I should take a picture of our drawings. They came out kind of bad though. Thomas didn't want to meet the Up characters since he hadn't saw the movie yet I guess. It seemed like they brought lots of characters inside today because of the rain. First up was the Little Einsteins, which Thomas hardly watches anymore :sad2:.

After the art class Thomas wanted to ride Star Tours again even though it was still pouring. I was not up for this ride  by this time. Kaylee and I decided to take another art class and then meet back up for TSM. This time we drew Pluto. I have no idea where Kaylee's picture is. Let's say they turned out kind of bad :lmao:. Turns out Jedi training would be canceled the rest of the day since the park was flooded. Thomas made Tom take pics of some of the stuff inside the ST's line. He loves R2D2 in case you didn't know. I have to post some pics or video since we finally got him the same day I left for NJ.

Then we met back up right in front of TSM to ride again with our FP's. We waited quite a while this time, like 20 minutes in the FP line. This time Thomas wanted to sit with me. I finally beat Tommy  too. When the ride was over it was downpouring. We were officially done with being soaked. We had quite a hike to bus stop. By time we got there our clothes were drenched under the poncho's, all of us were dripping wet, even the stroller which had and extra poncho covering it. It really sucked to say the least. Not sure how long we waited for a bus, not too long though.

It was nice to get back to the room and out of the rain. We all took warm showers and got dry clothes on. Our original plans were to go to MK for a few rides. No one but Thomas wanted to do that since it was dark and raining. We tried to think of a place where we would get good CS. I had no idea but we didn't want to eat at Artist Pallette since it was gross the other day the selection was so limited. Our plan was to bus to a resort and eat at their foodcourt. So we went to the bus stop in our lovely poncho's  and waited for a Bus. DTD pulled up first so we took it. When we arrived at DTD we decided we would go to one of the MK resorts or one of the moderates depending on what we saw first. Immediately there was a POR/POFQ bus there waiting, so we hopped on. Oh how we missed our car. It took us 30 minutes to get there. We got off at POR since they are supposed to have a nice big foodcourt. This was the first tome visting this resort for us. We didn't walk around outside though because of the weather but it looked very nicely themed. Not my kind of theming but still really nice. The foodcourt was excellent though! So many choices and good ones too. Also they had tons of seats. I didn't take any pics since Tom and I were kind of in a bad mood. For dinner we got the kids got Macaroni and cheese and Tom and had a roast beef dinner. It was all very good for a foodcourt. We had a huge ice cream sundae for dessert!

When we finished we got a bus back to DTD. We had some annoying women on our bus that were on a bachelorette party. Most of them were loud and obnoxious and even the older ones were dressed what even I would call trashy. Mind you I'm no angel  by far, so they missed have looked pretty bad :scared1:. I wasn't thrilled with Kaylee looking them over with a shocked look on her face.

When we got to DTD we waited in the SSR bus line for almost an hour :headache:. Everyone in the line was very annoyed ,most were wet and holding tired kids. It was nice to get back to SSR for a little TV and a good nights sleep. We caught the end of American Idol. The weather channel talked about the record amounts of rain in FL and how it would not let up until after the weekend  . I'm not going to lie I was very disspointed. We looked forward to this trip for so long. Also I had some many obstacles before we left that I couldn't wait to get to Disney and Florida and into the sun. I was really hoping that Thomas would somehow have a nice Birthday and the rain would hold out for his day at MK.

Next: Happy Birthday Thomas & Magic Kingdom!!

I think that day was definitely the worst for the rain, just relentless. :sad2:

It is too bad that so many of the things you wanted to see/do were canceled.

Sounds like you made the best out of a bad day. I think I would have been in tears..... I hope his birthday in MK goes better! :goodvibes

Great update! So sorry about the rain!:sad2: Hopefully things improve for Thomas' Birthday!:goodvibes

Awww, I am sorry about all the rain! I know Thomas wanted to do the Jedi Training Academy!

I hope the rain got better!:goodvibes

Yep--it rained ELEVEN inches that day (we were in AK). It WAS horrible--you shouldn't be embarassed about being upset--it was NO fun!! I'm so sorry Thomas didn't get to do the Jedi Training Academy. I'm praying he had a good birthday at MK! Can't wait to hear more!!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels sick after Star Tours. Even my Mother can ride it with no problem which makes me feel like a wuss.:goodvibes

The bus ride from POR sounds very frustrating. We encountered an hour wait once at BB and it really does ruin the "Magic of Disney" feeling.

Oh, and yes I am doing a TR for our trip to DLR for our DD's 5th birthday the same week. The link is in my sig.
