I really need to find a collection of "trying too hard" pics to use for all sorts of occasions.
Thanks! And now it's in my head too.Sorry, it's been running through my head as well since I typed it so I know your pain.![]()
What is completely insane and backwards about how the media (and general public) is reacting to this is that videos were released about Planned Parenthood selling aborted baby parts, and yet we haven't seen NEARLY the outrage that we have for a man killing an animal. It shows where our values are in this country.
And before someone says it, yes you can be upset over both, but the lion coverage is clearly showing where our priorities lay.
Yep, the poster is responding to what I wrote. The formatting of the reply might make it difficult to determine this.
True, I don't care if anything bad happens to the dentist, his business, his coworkers, or even his family. I'm not calling for his head; I'm not wishing physical harm to any of the people mentioned. But, yes, if something does happen to them, I'm not going to cry or lose sleep over it.
I believe, most people do care. Although, they can't seem to raise their voice and muster the same outrage towards Planned Parenthood.I don't get the politicizing of this sad incident by bringing up the Planned Parenthood mess. It is two separate topics that we can all feel outraged over. If the news media coverage seems out of wack then take it up with the news media.
I don't want anything bad to happen to this man but I would like to see this incident lead to better regulations. Yes, the lion matters. No, that doesn't keep humans from mattering.
Being outraged all the time gets tiring. Yes, we should make our voices heard but I can't completely blame those who don't.I believe, most people do care. Although, they can't seem to raise their voice and muster the same outrage towards Planned Parenthood.

Well said. I don't see the reason for hijacking threads. This thread is about Cecil the lion. If someone wants to start a planned parenthood discussion thread, fine.I don't get the politicizing of this sad incident by bringing up the Planned Parenthood mess. They can't. One was started in response to SSM and it was closed fairly rapidly.Well said. I don't see the reason for hijacking threads. This thread is about Cecil the lion. If someone wants to start a planned parenthood discussion thread, fine.
Then maybe bringing it back up here is not really a good idea. They can't. One was started in response to SSM and it was closed fairly rapidly.
That is a pretty broad brush you are painting there with Mr. Art.I agree. As bad as killing the lion is, it's no where even near as bad as pulling a baby out of it's mother to sell it's body parts. But you won't hear much about that, especially on the dis. For some reason liberals are not outraged by this practice and I don't know why that it.
Abortion, religion and politics are forbidden...right?That is a pretty broad brush you are painting there with Mr. Art.
You don't hear about it on the DIS because abortion is a forbidden subject.
I am a liberal and guess what? I care about both.
Selling body parts of legally aborted fetuses. So, yes, it is abortion. So, yes, it is forbidden.Abortion, religion and politics are forbidden...right?
I do believe, selling body parts is a different subject altogether. However, any thread would be twisted into anti or pro and go down in flames quickly. IMHO
I never did get catch and release fishing. I'm sure the fish doesn't appreciate a hook in the face just to get thrown back.
PLanned Parenthood has deep pockets and defenders in very high places. They have been quite effective in squashing the "mainstream" coverage. I haven't seen Jimmy Kimmel crying, over the babies, or much outrage anywhere.
You proved my point.Selling body parts of legally aborted fetuses. So, yes, it is abortion. So, yes, it is forbidden.

You pro
You proved my point.
Personally, I think it's wrong to sell body parts period. It doesn't matter, who they belonged to or how old the person was? JMO
