What is completely insane and backwards about how the media (and general public) is reacting to this is that videos were released about Planned Parenthood selling aborted baby parts, and yet we haven't seen NEARLY the outrage that we have for a man killing an animal. It shows where our values are in this country.

And before someone says it, yes you can be upset over both, but the lion coverage is clearly showing where our priorities lay.

PLanned Parenthood has deep pockets and defenders in very high places. They have been quite effective in squashing the "mainstream" coverage. I haven't seen Jimmy Kimmel crying, over the babies, or much outrage anywhere.

True, I don't care if anything bad happens to the dentist, his business, his coworkers, or even his family. I'm not calling for his head; I'm not wishing physical harm to any of the people mentioned. But, yes, if something does happen to them, I'm not going to cry or lose sleep over it.

Well, that's all we need to know about you. No further discussion is warranted. Says far more of your character than that of the dentist and people he knows.

I don't get the politicizing of this sad incident by bringing up the Planned Parenthood mess. It is two separate topics that we can all feel outraged over. If the news media coverage seems out of wack then take it up with the news media.

I don't want anything bad to happen to this man but I would like to see this incident lead to better regulations. Yes, the lion matters. No, that doesn't keep humans from mattering.

Being outraged all the time gets tiring. Yes, we should make our voices heard but I can't completely blame those who don't.

I think that in the case of Cecil, most of those with loud voices are animal rights activists. Not all but most. They tend to be loud anyway.

Well said. I don't see the reason for hijacking threads. This thread is about Cecil the lion. If someone wants to start a planned parenthood discussion thread, fine.

I agree. As bad as killing the lion is, it's no where even near as bad as pulling a baby out of it's mother to sell it's body parts. But you won't hear much about that, especially on the dis. For some reason liberals are not outraged by this practice and I don't know why that it.

I am a liberal. And Guess what? I care about both. But this thread is about Cecil. Not about abortion, domestic farm animals, or any other subject. They are all important, but belong in their own threads if a legal subject.
