CDC Notifies States, Large Cities To Prepare For Vaccine Distribution As Soon As Late October

I read a fascinating story about that. One guy who launched this sorta underground but not system where they keep track of these places, people driving across state line, hours away, hanging out around pharmacies all day, etc.

There are Facebook groups for it in many areas. Once vaccines show up at our local pharmacies, I'm gonna try it. I have time to waste.

It's called vaccine hunting and young people everywhere are doing it.

I mean, there isn't anything unethical about it. Better than wasting a dose. We have a CVS location starting vaccines next week for people 65+ and frontline workers. I'm sure some people will not show up for their appointments each day. It's inevitable.

Limited release bourbons. They are highly sought after and even more difficult to obtain during the pandemic. Prices have skyrocketed. There are FB pages, bourbon clubs, folks hang around the liquor stores... They are so popular they now hold lotteries for the privilege to purchase these bourbons. It's ridiculous.

Sounds like it means scoring some sort of difficult to find Bourbon. Kind of like trying to find Furbies or Cabbage Patch Kids during their heydays. This says something about it. It's mostly talking about limited edition releases and how to gain an edge on getting them.

I'm not that into Bourbon or even other limited edition liquor. However, there was a time when there were hard to find beers around here. The one really tough was Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewing. Before the built a new brewery, they had limited distribution. The one place I knew that had it said that one of their drivers would be followed around by people looking to score some.

Haha...the struggle is real! Hope you feel better soon!. My in-laws 87 and 89 got their first dose of Moderna today....both feeling good. A lot of their friends/acquaintances are telling them that they should prepare to feel kind of crappy to very crappy after the second dose. Thankfully, they have absolutely nothing to do or really anywhere to be . Also thankfully.... their spirits were definitely lifted this evening after getting that first shot. . We're getting there people...we're getting there.

Vaccines have landed at our local pharmacy. LOTS of available appts.
Our county continues to limit shots to only people over 80. 80 and over seem to be struggling with signing up per local media. (Really? They couldn't predict this?) They are adding a phone number so the elders can call vs sign up online.

Anyway, at this point full days of vaccine appts are going unused.
Insane system.

This is the kind of thing that makes me crazy. With social media...etc, it would just be so easy to send out a notification that appointments are available. Or just lower the age to people over 70 for cryin' out loud! I'm sure they'll figure this out...but in the meantime....grrrr...

Unfortunately much more expensive and way harder to find than furbies or cabbage dollls. I remember those days well.

My husband is in a bourbon society and I swear some of the people there hang out at liquor stores all day waiting for ”drops”. It’s serious business for sure!

Russian River Brewing isn't quite as exclusive now. However, this year they decided that their limited release Pliny the Younger would be only sold online. Sold out in 5 minutes this year. I went last year and waited 3 hours in line for one beer on tap and 2 bottles to go (in the first year they bottled it).

A German ethics panel (whatever that is) has determined that it is unfair to ease restrictions for people who have been vaccinated.

I suspect this boat wouldn't float in the US.
