CC's Weight Loss Journey

Wow, you are using the heck out of that Wii! BL sounds like a real butt kicker.

I need to think of you for inspiration...I binged on cocoa powdered nuts this week and I know better. You're doing so great with the binge avoidance. I will remind myself of that when those little suckers tempt me tomorrow.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!! :wave2:
I've been lurking on your journal for a while. You're inspiring me to avoid those "OMG-gotta-have-it" binges!!!

Welcome! Thanks for saying hi!

Just wanted to say....CONGRATULATIONS on being this week's BL!!! You should be so proud of all that you are doing!!! I am always impressed when I read reports such as yours.

Keep it up!
Jen

Thanks so much! I'm hoping to post at least some loss this week. No binges, but lots of food at work. Still within in my points, but not exactly healthy food. Lots of carbs.

What were you the BL for? The Biggest Loser challenge on here? If so, YAY!!!! Congrats!

Thanks! I was the BL for the week. I was shocked. I knew I lost a lot, but I didn't think I lost that much. Guess I better learn to do the math myself. Thanks again!

Really good, OP day today. Best of all, no binges! If I am binge-free tomorrow, that'll be 2 full weeks! I hope I make it. I'm so proud of myself already. I think I'll reward myself with something if I make it 2 weeks. Perhaps I'll buy myself something fitness related, like another pair of gym shorts. I never seem to have enough of those.

So, for today: I got up and exercised. I did one of the BL Jumpstart DVD routines followed by 30 min. of free step on the Wii Fit Plus while watching the morning news. I'm hoping to do the same tomorrow. I ate just over my minimum points for the day, so that is good. Looking forward to a similar day tomorrow.

Have a great day, OP tomorrow!

Well, I ate a lot today, but no bingeing. I have one focus/goal for the week. I need to get my eating pattern more under control. I try to save my points for dinner so that I can eat what my parents and sister are having, but I get so hungry in the afternoon and then I have to eat. I may not binge, but I end up going over my points. So, that is my focus for the week. I'm not going to worry a lot about exercise or getting in all 4 COWs (veggies are more filling for me) either. To help me out a little bit, I'm going to develop a reward system. My first reward is going to be when I reach 35 pounds lost since I joined WW in Sept. 08. I'm not sure what my reward is going to be. I've reached the stage in my weight loss journey where I need to build in some rewards. Actually, some might be an understatement. I need to lose over 15 pounds by April 15. I have 10 weeks. I should be able to do it. I'm going to work on my reward plan now. I'll post it as soon as I finish it, probably tomorrow. Until then...

I went to WW this morning just to weigh-in. I wasn't planning on going-it's not even 5 degrees here-but I did and I'm glad I did. I'm up only 0.2 pounds! That keeps me under 140. I'll take it with no complaints. I have today and tomorrow left and then, if no binges, I can declare myself binge-free! I won't be surprised if there a slip up here or there, but none of this five days in a row thing anymore. Will update a little later...

No binges as of yet today! That brings me to 2 full weeks. If I'm binge-free the rest of the night and tomorrow, I'll declare myself binge-free. I'm so looking forward to being able to do that.

I still managed to eat more than my minimum points for the day. I wasn't planning to do that. Oh well. I'll try harder tomorrow. I did earn 1 AP. I spent 30 min. on the Wii Fit Plus today. I'm thinking about heading to the gym tomorrow and making another attempt at Week 1 Day 1 of the C25K. It'll depend on when I wake up in the morning.

I'm still working on getting an eating pattern established. I wasn't expecting to do it overnight, especially since weekdays are harder than weekend days. I did snack a little today, but not as bad as it has been. Here is my plan for tomorrow:

Breakfast- 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp. canola oil, 1 apple (6)
Lunch- 1 oz. roast beef, 2 oz. turkey, Deli Thin, dill pickles, mustard, 1.5 oz. lower fat cheese (5)
Snack: 2 clemintines (0.5)
Dinner: steak, portabello mushroom, 1 tsp. olive oil, and... (at least 6) We often have potatoes with steak. I have the points, so that would be fine.

I'm planning to earn at least 1 AP tomorrow. It would be great to earn more than that, especially after today, but I'll be happy with one.

That's about it for tonight. Until tomorrow...Good night!

Well, I planned out my upcoming rewards. I hope that these serving as motivation for me and that I reach goal by April 15, if not April 1st. That gives me 8-10 weeks to lose 20 pounds. That seems like a lot, but it probably doable if I stick to tracking and exercising. I couldn't get interested in exercising today though. I better move tomorrow. I was hoping to go to the gym or use the Wii Fit Plus, but neither happened. The good news is that I am unlikely to go over my minimum points for the day. I've eaten 14, so I have 8 left. My dinner will be at least 6, but shouldn't be over 8, which is good. No, really good. My goal for tomorrow will be to get up at 5 and exercise until 6:30 when I have to get in the shower to make it to work on time. My goal will be to do a BL Jumpstart DVD routine (1/6 of them-Cardio Level 1), followed by 30-40 min. on the Wii Fit Plus, and then a Wii BL routine. Hopefully, I'll be able to do all 3 of them. I'd love to make it through the entire Wii BL routine too. Lately, I haven't be able to make it through any of them. I'm determined not to be up for elimination this week.

Until next time...CC

CC, I'm sorry I've been absent for a few days...playing catch up now! I'm very proud to hear you're doing well with binges...(Jan 27th) -hoping as I keep reading, you're staying strong.

You started C25k!!!! WOOHOO -- now almost 2 straight week, no binges! Great job...and don't worry about the "ate a lot" day, because it was controlled and not your old habit of a binge! That's good news...

I noticed about yoru afternoon hungry, a lot of people have a bloodsugar drop between 3-4, couple hours after lunch, not quite dinner - maybe have a small healthy snack at that time to get you through...few almonds, a small apple or something may help you through

A reward system is great, and helps motivate so many people.

Not even 5 degrees, yikes...THAT'S COLD! Also, great job with the WiiFit workouts

Cheers, Deb

Thanks for checking in Deb. Again, no binges! Very proud of myself

I tried increasing the canola oil I put in my oatmeal. That really didn't help. I'm still getting hungry about 3 hours after I eat breakfast, which is exactly what you mentioned Deb. I was better about drinking more between breakfast and lunch today and hope to do even better tomorrow. I think that will help. I need to start getting drinks in earlier. I still ate a lot again today, but like I said, no binges. My goal for the week was to establish a healthy eating pattern and I've been working on it so I feel good about how I've been doing. Hoping for a better day tomorrow. Planning to get up and exercise tomorrow morning. Today, I shoveled. I'm hoping to get in a some Wii Fit Plus Free Step and a few other Wii aerobics exercises for a solid 45 min. of exercise. Need to get going on my goal of 900 min. for the month.

Right, about the breakfast -- that's why many people eat smaller meals more times a day. It will keep your metabolism more even all day, and bloodsugars, etc..(ex- i do 6 small meals a day, while others have better luck doing 3 full meals a day w/a snack worked in) -it's really trial and error and feeling out what works for you

So here's an example of what you can do if you can fit it into your schedule...doesn't work for everyone, but may help you - and maybe you'll find a pattern that helps you.

Old way: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snack

New Way: Breakfast/sm snack - ex -100 calories/Lunch/sm snack - 100 calories/Dinner/sm-snack (just remember to allow for those calories you're adding as a snack)

Ex: (just making stuff up, obviously use whatever foods you like)

breakfast; egg with toast (protein will help keep you full/longer often times)

morning snack: small apple

lunch: veg/beef soup (getting protein/with veggies)

afternoon snack: almonds

Dinner: salad with protein

etc, etc, small snack - work the calories within YOUR calorie range through the day...

ideas of small snacks: yogurt, small apple, raisins, nuts, seeds, low calorie breakfast bar, piece of cheese, etc

Good plan on the Wii. I haven't tried the free step yet but a friend of mine uses it and loves it.

You really have those binges beat! The eating plan sounds good...it takes some refining to find exactly what works best for you.

Still working on perfecting my eating pattern. I ate a lot today, but again, I was hungry. I increased the oil I put in my oatmeal to 1.5 tsp and changed it from canola oil to olive oil. I will definitely be sticking with that plan. I didn't get so hungry so quickly today. I'm also planning to increase the water I drink throughout the morning.

Here is my breakfast plan for the morning:
1 cup cooked oatmeal
1 cup blueberries
1 cup of milk
1.5 tsp. olive oil
1 egg white plus 0 points of veggies (broccoli, maybe-whatever I can find)
Total: 7 points

Hoping for an OP day tomorrow!

Thanks for all the support.

Olive oil is supposed to be very healthy. Hopefully it will cut back the appetite.

Not my best day. Not my worst day. Doesn't that sound like a line from Dickens? Tomorrow starts a new WW week and I'm committing to having a great, OP week. Again, I'm going to focus on my eating. I'm not going to worry about the COWs this week again, but I am going to aim for 2 APs a day. I can't wait for my new pedometer to arrive. I feel lost without having one on. I really want to earn 2 APs from moderate to intense exercise and another 1 or 2 from all the walking I do during the day. Here are goals for the week.

1. Eat 22 POINTS per day.
2. Eat no more than 5 WPA per day, aiming to have at least 15 left at the end of the week.
3. Earn 2 or more APs per day.
4. 10,000+ steps per day (need pedometer)
5. Avoid chocolate.
6. 8 8 oz. glasses of water per day

I think it's doable. The hardest one will be exercising.

Have a great weekend!

Hopefully the pedometer will arrives soon. I was looking at those in Target today while choosing a heart rate meter. I might get one this spring to see how much exercise I actually get at the theme parks.

Hopefully next week will be a good one. At least this past week didn't have any major downers. So-so is much better than totally bad.

Cannot wait for my pedometer to arrive. I read about this one on the BL9 thread and am really looking forward to trying it out.

My weight is up back over 140, but I'm not surprised. I was really hungry this week and I ate a lot because of that. It was also pre-TOM and I doubt that helped. This week is going to be different though.

I did really well today. I ate 28.5 and earned 2 APs (42 min.). I probably earned another in steps as I walked around the mall almost 2 full times today time each floor. I got home really hungry and ate 4 points worth of WW ice cream bars. I learned that the smaller one satisfies my chocolate craving a lot more than the larger one. It's interesting as the smaller one actually has less chocolate. I think it's the kind of chocolate. The smaller one is vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate whereas the larger one is chocolate ice cream, which has never really satisfied my chocolate cravings. A fudge bar does, though. I'm weird like that.

I'm hoping to get in 3 APs tomorrow. We're having family dinner tomorrow so I'll have to plan accordingly. That means some solid exercise and a lighter lunch. Here is my plan for tomorrow:

30 min. Wii Fit Plus
30 min. Free Step on Wii Fit Plus
BL Jumpstart DVD 1-2/5 routines

Breakfast: oatmeal, 1 cup of milk, 1.5 tsp. olive oil, apple, 2 clemintines (7.5)
Lunch: turkey and roast beef sandwich with cheese plus mustard and dill pickles (5)
Dinner: beef round roast with 1 cup potatoes and 1/2 cup carrots (8), leaving me 0.5 points for the day, which I will probably use on more veggies at dinner or dessert, which is more likely as we're having family dinner

Had an almost perfect day today and hoping for the same, if not better, tomorrow! Have a great tomorrow! Thanks for all the encouragement and support!
