CC's Weight Loss Journey

I got back from the gym about 20 min. ago. I did Week 2 Day 1 of the C25K. I decided that Week 2 would be a better starting point for me and I was right. I did great. The weather report is expecting snow a few days this week so I'm not sure when I'm going to fit in a 2nd day this week. I'm hoping for Tuesday night. I should be able to go directly after work. I may or may not get in more exercise today. I am thinking about getting in some Wii Fit Plus time after lunch. I'm really getting good at the hula hoop one and it's a great workout for me. Maybe there will be something decent on TV so I can do some free step.

I don't have any plans for Superbowl Sunday, which is good. The only plan is to have "family dinner." That means my sister's boyfriend is coming over and we are having a big dinner. Luckily, my parents picked having a lean roast so the only sort of bad thing is the potatoes. I'm good about portioning out 1 cup of them and only eating that much, so I should be fine.

So far, I've stuck to my plan quite well. I changed up my exercise plan for the day, although I may exercise some more later. I didn't eat any clemintines with breakfast, but I'll probably eat them at lunch. Hoping the day stays as well as it is.

That's ironic about the chocolate bars, but I think you're right about it being the kind. I find that my yogurt satisfies my urges because you get real candy, evn tho it's a limited amount.

So far, I've had 26.5 points and earned 4 APs. Very proud of myself. I did a few minutes on the Wii Fit Plus and some time on the exercise machine plus Week 2 Day 1 of the C25K for a total of 56 minutes of exercise. My sister made brownies for dessert but I won't be indulging. I'll probably have a WW brownie sundae thing for 3 points instead. Much better choice. I got in lots of veggies, plus 2 tsp. of oil, a good amount of protein, not a lot of carbs, 2 servings of dairy, and 8+ glasses of water. Again, I am very proud of myself. The bingeing days are over and I'm in much more control of my eating this week. I think being pre-TOM last week was a much bigger factor than I thought. Now, hopefully, I can keep this up while I'm at work.

Here is my plan for tomorrow-
Workout: 5-6:30 AM- BL Jumpstart DVD Cardio Level 1, Wii Fit Plus until about 5:55, followed by 30 min. of Free Step during 6 AM news (3-4 APs)
Breakfast: 1/2 cup of oatmeal with 1/2 cup of milk, 1 diced medium apple, and 1.5 tsp of olive oil plus 1/2 cup of milk and 16 oz. of water to drink (7)
Lunch: roast beef sandwich, 1 medium orange 4 oz. Fiber One yogurt, 6 oz. WW yogurt, shredded broccoli/cabbage/carrots mix (5.5)
Dinner: taco salad made with lots of veggies, ground turkey breast, and 1 hard taco shell (6)
Even if I count 1 point for all the veggies, that will still leave me 3.5 points for the day, which is perfect as everyone else will probably be having brownies tomorrow night. Now, I just have to stick to my plan.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Sounds like you are doing great with the C25K program! :thumbsup2 I just started week 5, day 1 and was a bit of a challenge today. I really like how you are thinking about your food one day in advance. I am going to try being a bit more of a pre-planner because it seems like it helps so many people out.

I am impressed with all your exercising!! Great job!
Jen

I think with the consistent journaling - you'll keep going. It's good to see what we eat, or how we move - so we can stay aware.

Good job on doing W2/D1 on C25k! Hope you fit in your wii time too

Planning ahead is a great way to stack on track - you're going to reach your goal sooner than later this way!

Thanks for the encouragement Jen and Deb! I really appreciate all the comments.

So far, I'm having an ok day. It hasn't been the best day as I got hungry at work and snacked, but it was much better than any day I've had in a few weeks. I made it until almost 11 AM before I really needed a snack. I have to get more water in during the day. I'm sure that would help a lot. I'm planning a big taco salad for dinner. GTG

Had a great breakfast that sustained me for a while and only needed a very small snack. Lunch, on the other hand, did nothing for me and I ended up having my first binge in a while. I ate a full bag and a half of cookies. I'm planning to earn 10 APs by Friday night to help counteract the damage I did today. I'm still likely to lose some weight this week as I have eaten so much less than I did last week. I just wish I didn't binge. I know strategies to deal with my anxiety and emotions and I couldn't think of anything. I felt like such a failure today. I am wearing my gym clothes now and will go downstairs to exercise as soon as I finish typing up my exercise plan. I should have just enough time before the BL to do 1 BL Jumpstart DVD routine and 30 min. of Wii Fit Plus. Then, I'll do 30 min. of Free Step while watching BL and 10 min. on the exercise machine in the basement for 4 APs, if I can do all of that. I really need to do all of that though, so that's my goal.

Have a great night everyone!

it's just a small bump in the road. put it behind you - it's over. Move forward...

we all have those moments where our choices aren't the best ones the moment...it's not about the choice at that moment, but what we do NEXT that matters -- you can pick yourself up, dust off and move forward - or let it begin a downslide

...which won't happen. it's done... :thumbsup2

what can you do to combat that next time? was it a craving? was it hunger? was it emotion? maybe having another back up plan will help, and if you aren't sure...just move past it, and keep your eyes on your goal, and don't let it burden you

Thanks for the encouragement Deb!

I went into work a bit today and have the rest of the day off (snow). I got in all 4 APs yesterday (80 min.). I just finished tracking how much I ate yesterday and my best guess says that I'm 21 points over my WPA. So, that means between now and Friday, I need to get in 21 APs at the very least. That is 7 per day, which I know is over the recommended daily swapping limit, but I know it'll make me feel better if I get in 7 per day. I'll get exercising after lunch. I'll also earn some APs shoveling snow, if it ever sticks to the driveway. I'm not out to punish myself. I'm trying to lose weight and exercising helps with that. Here's my plan for today:
- shoveling snow long enough to earn 2 APs
- 30 min. Wii Fit + aerobics
- 20 min. Wii Fit + Free Run
- 30 min. Wii Fit + Free Step
- BL Jumpstart DVD Cardio Level 1
- 10-15 min. on the exercise machine in the basement

I can't wait for my pedometer to come in. I've probably walked 4,000 steps today and right now, have no way of knowing. Well, enough venting for now and hopefully the day. I'll start exercising after lunch.

Change of plans...I'm going to exercise but not enough to earn almost 10 APs a day. I'm up to 27 points over my WPA. I'm aiming for 4 today. I shoveled, but it took so little time that I didn't even earn 1 AP. I'll go in the basement and do 10-15 min. on the exercise machine (1-2), plus some Free Step (1 and some aerobics on the Wii Fit Plus (1). I'll also get in a 10 min. Free Run as part of my aerobics. Not sure if I'll do the BL Jumpstart DVD Cardio Level 1 or not. I enjoy it and it's a good challenge, but I have to be in bed for 9 PM or I won't wake up in the morning. I was hoping to get my workout in earlier, but the snow mixed everything up. I went into work early and left really early and then needed a nap. OK, venting again. I could go on, but I'll stop.

Looking forward to the snow ending. Hoping my pedometer will arrive soon. How many times have I said that? OK, venting again. Goodness, I'm a little anxious here. I guess that's pretty obvious.

Alright, need to go get a grip. Exercise usually helps. Will probably start my workout earlier than expected. Have a great night and thanks for all the comments/encouragement/support!

Doing better, but I don't feel like exercising. I guess I'll aim to get a workout in tomorrow morning. I just found from amazon.com that my package will likely be delivered tomorrow. That's exciting. I'll finally have a pedometer. Am I venting again? I'm hoping for a decent weigh-in on Sat. morning. If I get in 5-8 more APs by Friday night I stand a chance. I have to lay off the carbs and drink more water. I also have to keep my sodium to a minimum. We're out of apples, so it'll be blueberries in my oatmeal tomorrow morning. Hoping that sustains me until lunch time. So, here is my plan for tomorrow.

5 AM wake-up to exercise-hoping I'll be able to wake up
- BL Jumpstart DVD Cardio Level 1
- Wii Fit + aerobics (including some Run) until 5:55 AM
- Wii Fit + Free Step during 6 AM news
Breakfast (8)
- oatmeal
- blueberries
- 1.5 cups milk
- 2 tsp. oil
Lunch (4)
- roast beef sandwich
- yogurt
- orange
Dinner (no more than 5)
- Subway Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Salad
- Subway apple slices

That leaves me with a few points left over for some odds and ends. Not sure what I'll eat. If I feel like I do now tomorrow, I'll be lucky if I eat that much. OK, venting again. I'm appearantly having a much worse day than I previously thought. Off to go handle that....

Sorry and thanks for listening,

CC

Up 2 full pounds today. Not exactly happy, but not surprised either. I'm determined to have a better week this week. I've eaten 26/23 points for the day and we'll be having some fruit with Cool Whip for dessert. So, 1 more point for the day. Nothing to complain about eating wise today, although I have eaten more chocolate than I would have liked. Oh well. Tomorrow is another family dinner. Time to plan ahead.

Breakfast: usual oatmeal (7.5)
Lunch: roast beef sandwich with cheese (5)
Dinner: chicken breast, potatoes, carrots (8)

That leaves me a few points left for a treat. I'm also hoping to earn a few APs tomorrow. I got in 11 minutes of exercise today. I could not get the DVD player to work. I was so disappointed because I was really in the mood to exercise today. I'm content with how the day went nonetheless.

Well, I got up this morning and made my parents breakfast. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter and made them heart shaped French toast. I attempted to make a blueberry sauce, but that didn't go over so well. No biggie, though. I love to cook, so this was really more for them than me. I of course, had my usual oatmeal.

I've been finding myself hungry a lot lately. It's like no matter what I eat, I still feel hungry. I've been thinking about trying one of those crash diets and hopefully lose five pounds in a week, but I've tried one before and gained weight. I am hoping to lose 5 pounds this week without crash dieting. I'm tracking points and calories this week. The Wii Fit Plus says I've lost 2.9 pounds since yesterday. It would be wonderful if that was accurate.

I got in 53 minutes of exercise today. I was hoping to go longer, but I was getting tight on time. Changing the Wii Fit exercise and the DVD player takes up more time than I had thought. I was probably in the basement for over an hour. I'm hoping to get in a 5 AM workout tomorrow morning. I'd love to do a workout similar to today. So, my goal is the BL Jumpstart DVD Cardio Level 1, 30 min. of Wii Fit Plus, WATP 1 mile (everything I did today), and the BL Weight Loss Yoga DVD. I'm also planning to go the gym tomorrow and get in a C25K walk/run. I'll probably also do some strength training. I'm determined to lose 5 pounds or more this week. I need to drop these almost 10 pounds I've gained in the last few weeks ASAP, or at least before my maid-of-honor gown comes in in mid-March.

Hoping to stick with my good day today!

Had a great day yesterday. Earned 3 APs and only used a few of my WPA. Very happy with myself.

I didn't sleep well last night, so no 5 AM workout for me. I'm still planning to go to the gym tonight. I'm planning to do Week 2 Day 2 of the C25K. And, I'll try in get in some Wii Fit Plus time after I go to the gym. The weather report says snow for tomorrow, so my next likely trip to the gym will be Wednesday. I also plan to get some strength training in today and Wednesday.

I don't have to go into work today, but I probably will. I haven't decided yet, though. Looking forward to an exercise filled day.

Dear goodness, where is your pedometer coming from...Mars? LOL

I agree, planning ahead is a good thing. Sorry to hear your weight went up, but weight is constantly fluctuating...keep making good choices and things will happen

If the DVD doesn't work, why not just do this simple trick....while watching a TV show of your choice, every time a commercial comes on, get up and march in place...quick burst, easy to do, gets movement in

That was nice of you to do that for your parents -

still hungry? add more protein - i find it keeps me full longer...maybe add some egg whites or a hard boiled egg as a side to your oatmeal -- maybe increase your chicken portion and drop the potato, keep the carrots...etc

Yikes, it's when you don't get a good rest because it can impact the rest of your day. Oh well, you've got a great workout program. Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to get the hunger pangs under control. I wonder if your body is trying to tell you something...maybe it's just some sort of modification needed in your plan.

That heart shaped French toast sounds so cute!

That heart shaped French toast sounds so cute!

Thanks!

Not too bad of a day. I need to find a breakfast that sustains me longer than 1-2 hours. Maybe tomorrow I'll try eating an egg with breakfast in addition to my oatmeal, etc. I also have to be better about drinking water throughout the day. My goal for tomorrow is to drink some water once when I get to work and two more times before lunch.

Also, I got my new pedometer. I'm so sorry Deb. I thought I posted it on this thread too. I absolutely love it. I'm at 9200+ for the day as of now.

I'm planning to get some exe

rcise in tonight. I'd like to do 45 min. at the very least tonight. Have to get moving :yay: if I'm going to make my goal of 900 min. this month. I'm only at 110. I probably won't make it, but I'll get close if I do 60 min. per day.

You may have posted about the pedometer...I probably overlooked it! :thumbsup2

Good job on your steps and exercise

I'd absolutely add protein...it helps you feel full longer. In fact, if I have carbs, I always try to add a protein, my doc says no unopposed carbs...get that protein in with it...

Thanks!

I just finished 32 min. on the Wii Fit Plus (which included 20 min. of Free Run) and Cardio Level 1 of the BL Jumpstart DVD. I'm determined to try Level 2, but Level1 does me in, so not right away. Add that to 11 min. earlier today and I got in 53 min. of exercise today! I'll take it.

Have a great day tomorrow and thanks for reading!

Yep, that water is sooooo important!

Sounds like a really, really good Wii workout. It's amazing how much it can kick your butt if you do the right exercises.
