CC's Weight Loss Journey

Ugh, being sick sure messes things up. I'll echo Solar...get those liquids in!

I got in 5+ glasses of liquids today. Thanks for the support. I am feeling much better today.

Nice job on setting your goals! Very inspiring!

Thanks!

hope you are feeling better....make sure to drink those liquids! when you're feeling your strength back - hopefully you'll get those steps back in too...

Thanks Deb. I got in about 400 more steps today. Definitely progress.

Today was another bad day. I went on a bad binge at dinner time and ate much more than I should, especially considering how much I ate on Sunday. I think the best thing for me to do is just move forward and start tomorrow fresh. Here are my goals for tomorrow:

Eating: Eat 23 POINTS plus at least 1/2 of the APs earned that day.
- aka: I earned 4 APs so I must eat 25 POINTS.
- Drink 6 8 oz. glasses of liquids.
- Eat/drink 2 dairy servings.
- Eat 2 additional protein servings.
- Eat 1 of 2 servings of oil.

Activity: Earn at least 2 APs.

Other Goals:
1. Avoid chocolate.
2. Wear my pedometer.
3. Plan my breakfast and lunch in advance.
4. Write in my tracker and WISH Journal.
5. Take a multivitamin and a calcium and magnesium supplement.

How's it going with the goals today? That's the great thing about life; even if you mess up one day, there's always tomorrow to start fresh.

Thanks for the support. Not too bad of a day. I can't seem to figure out how to respond to you and then post about my day/goals, so at the very least, I'm going to post in reverse of how I'd like to post because, well, it's important that I comment on the day. I hope you understand. Thanks again!

Today was an ok day. No bingeing-yes!

By the end of the night, I will have eaten 25 POINTS and earned 0 APs. I got a Wii Fit Plus last night. Finally found one at Target. Still looking for the Biggest Loser for Wii. Hoping to get it at Best Buy, where it's 1/2 price. I set up the Wii Fit a few minutes ago and am planning on spending 1/2 hour on it tomorrow morning. Plus, I'm planning to get in 1/2 of the 30-Day Shred, if not all of it. I'm going to commit to doing it every day until Jan. 31st. I'm hoping to lose 10 pounds by the end of the month (weigh-in will be Jan. 30th). The Wii Fit Plus says I weigh 136.5 and that I need to lose about 20 pounds. I'm planning to go to WW on Saturday and will see how they compare. I figure as long as I see the number go down, I'm good. The nice part is that the goal weight the Wii Fit Plus suggested is just about the same as WW suggested and is also my ideal weight!

So my plan for tomorrow is:
-Wake up whenver my body says to wake up!
-Have 8 oz. of water (got to get a perfect score on the COW)
-30 min. on the Wii Fit Plus
-1/2 (or more) of the 30-Day Shred
-go about my day...shower, read the paper, etc.
-Breakfast: oatmeal with a diced up apple 1/2 cup milk & 1 tsp. canolo oil plus 8 oz. water
-Lunch: roast beef sandwich with cream cheese plus 8 oz. water
-Dinner: Hamburger plus 8 oz. water
-need to get in some veggies, another tsp. of oil, and another serving of dairy

Tomorrow looks to be a pretty on plan day! Happy New Year!

I love the weighing feature of the Wii Fit. That is missing from Sports Active...I don't know if the Biggest Loser does it. The Wii Fit is cool because it opens up new games or levels as you work your way through certain scores. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info! I'm really looking forward to starting using it tomorrow monring!

Ok, so much for my good day. I just went on a chocolate binge. It appears that just saying the word makes me crave it. Ok, so tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow is a new year and I'm starting fresh. I have my meals semi-planned-just have to add some veggies and a serving of dairy. I'm hoping to earn 2 APs tomorrow and only eat 23 POINTS. I think I need to start spreading my WPA out across the week. But, I don't like to do that, just in case I need them for a particular day. I'd love to earn 1 AP for every WPA I use, but I know that won't happen, at least for a few weeks. I think I'll make that a goal in February or even wait until March. I need to lose 20-25 pounds by the end of March before I need to start having my maid-of-honor dress altered.

In the last few weeks, I went on so many binges and had so many parties to attend-I'm afraid to read my weight when I weigh-in on Saturday. I have a feeling I'm up about 5 pounds. It's ok though, I will lose the weight. I know I will. I just need to watch what I eat, check on how I'm feeling (binges tend to be tied to emotions), and increase my exercise. I can do this. I will do this. 25 pounds gone-here I come!

I have sympathy for you on the chocolate. I only crave it once a month, but when I do....WATCH OUT!!!

How's it going on the first day of 2010? Hopefully this is a good one! :thumbsup2

Today has been great so far! I'm determined to have a great month. I got this e-mail from Sparkpeople that has 31 ideas for how to stay on track (it's set up like a calendar). I am going to print it out and post it at work and at home. I got in 30 min. on the Wii Fit Plus today- some running and Hula Hoop plus a few random things. I burned 144 calories! Also, did 1/2 of the 30-Day Shred. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow. My goal for the day was 1/2 of it, plus 30 min. and 100 calories on the Wii Fit so I achieved that!

Thanks for asking! The support on the WISH boards are great! I couldn't do this without all of you!

Today would have been ok if it wasn't for two different chocolate binges. I've decided that my goal for the rest of the month is to avoid chocolate. My new Weight Watchers week starts tomorrow. I'll post my new goals tomorrow, sometime after I weigh-in. Hoping that I didn't gain so much that I'm over 150. I doubt it, but you never know. The Wii Fit Plus says I'm about 135-136 so I really doubt I'm over 150 according to WW. I'm off to figure out how the BL Wii game works so I can start that tomorrow.

Set up the BL for Wii and am ready to go. I chose the 4-week beginner challenge. I figured I'd so the intermediate, 8-week challenge next. BL said I weigh 139 pounds so hopefully I'm not up too much when I weigh in tomorrow. My alarm is set for 6 AM. That gives me a full hour and then some to get in some exercise before I have to start getting ready for WW. Hoping to get in a BL Wii routine, 30 min. or 100 calories on the Wii Fit (cardio only probably), and then the 30-Day Shred. That's almost 1.5 hours of exercise. I love the running on the Wii Fit Plus. I unlocked the distance one today so I'm going to try that tomorrow. Hoping to do a few minutes of Hula Hoop followed by the distance running (with some walking thrown in there I am sure) and then cool down with some more Hula Hoop. I may do some Step as well, perhaps 1st and last. That's going to be my likely exercise regiment for the week. Plus, I'm hoping to get in 10,000+ steps everyday. I'm going to change my goal regarding wearing my pedometer to wearing it as soon as I get out of the shower. I had been forgetting to put it on until just before I leave for work. I get in almost 1,000 steps just walking around the house before I leave- that's almost 10% and every little bit counts.

Breakfast tomorrow will be my usual oatmeal with a diced up apple, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 tsp. of canola oil plus 1/2 cup of milk and water to drink. (6)

Lunch will be roast beef with cream cheese on Pepperidge Farm Extra Fiber Light Style bread. I love that bread. I'll also throw on some dill pickles and some mustard and have 1 cup of milk as well as some water to drink. (6)

In order to get in the COWs for BL 9, I started drinking out of a water bottle. It holds 24 oz. of water and I fill it twice during the day. It worked perfectly today and I got in both parts of the COW with no problems.

Dinner tomorrow is pasta with meat/veggie sauce. I have to run to grocery store after WW and buy some ground turkey breast. I make a semi-homemade pasta sauce with lots of veggies in it and after I portion it out, I'll add 1 tsp. of olive oil to it and stir it in with 1 cup of whole wheat pasta. (9) I'll also be having my multivitamin/supplements during this meal.

That leaves me 1-2 POINTS (depending on weigh-in) for snack/dessert. If I stick to my menu, I'll have eaten the following GHG:
- 2 tsp. oil
- 2 dairy servings
- 2 protein servings
- whole grains
- at least 5 fruits/veggies
- multivitamin
- avoided alcohol, etc.
- drank my liquids
- and gotten exercise

Sounds like a good day!

Will post my goals for the week tomorrow. I know quite a few already:
1. Avoid chocolate.
2. Wear my pedometer starting as soon as I get out of the shower.
3. GHGs: 2 dairy servings, 2 protein servings, 1/2 oil servings, whole grains only, 5 fruits/veggies, liquids
4. Multivitamin, calcium and magnesium supplements
5. 30 min. Wii Fit Plus or 100 calories, 30-Day Shred, and BL Wii routine daily (starting next Sat., will skip Saturdays because of WW)
6. Eat as few of my WPA as possible. Eat about 1/2 APs on day earned

Hoping for a great day tomorrow and a not so miserable weigh-in!

I love that weigh in feature on the Wii, and it generally agrees with our scale.

Look like you've got all the bases covered with your goals. They make such handy touchstones to mentally return to when temptation rears its ugly (but oh so sweet and chocolately) head.

I really feel like I had a great day. Would have liked to have gotten in more steps. Hoping for a better day in that regard tomorrow. Otherwise, hoping that the day looks exactly the same! Breakfast and lunch will be exactly the same as today. Roast beef really fills me up. I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow with at least someone else in my family, so I'll have a say in meals for the next few days. That is always a plus. Probably going to Mass tomorrow, which means I'll have less time to exercise before I have to shower, so my goal is the 30-Day Shred and the Distance Lap run on the Wii Fit Plus. That's a quick 50 calories burned so a good morning workout. I'd love to get in a BL Wii routine, but not sure on the timing. I'd have to get up pretty early to fit that in. Well, you never know. I had no problem waking up pretty early this morning. I'll post tomorrow how I did.

Night!

So far, I have stuck to my plan. Breakfast-exactly as planned. Exercise, exactly as planned. 3 APs earned and I feel great. May have to make a simple change at lunch as we are low on roast beef, but will stick with the same POINTS goal of 6 for lunch. No clue what dinner will be tonight. Not sure if we're going to the grocery store or not-it's snowing. It's pretty, but it keeps interrupting our plans. I can always have an omelet with veggies and park-skim mozz. cheese for dinner if everyone else is having leftover ravioli and pasta. Actually, an omelet sounds really good. Hoping to continue my great day!

Oh, and btw, yesterday was a binge-free day! Hoping to make it 2 in a row!

Lunch went well. I had a small salad with a glass of milk and a 4 POINTS WW SmartOnes entree. So good and 6 POINTS total-as planned!. I don't have a lot of them because of the sodium, but I also don't eat a lot of salt otherwise. So, pretty much I end up eating less than 2300 mg of sodium per day. I've earned 3 APs today so I can eat up to 13 POINTS without touching my WPA, which is one of my goals. Still no idea what we are having for dinner yet. Got to love snow.

Step total is only at 1400+, but still better than yesterday, and the day isn't over yet. I always do better on work days. Also, that doesn't include all the stepping and the 2 distance runs I did on the Wii Fit Plus.

Be back later.

Whew, sounds like you're doing great so far. Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

I'm with you...I don't eat a lot of salt either. I never salt my food beyond what is already in it.

Thanks for the encouragement inkkognito!

The day continues to go well. I'm up to over 5,000 steps!, which I will take without any complaints. We are having baked cod for dinner tonight, which is very low in POINTS. That means that it was ok for me to have a snack this afternoon and boy did I need it. I was unusually hungry. It's getting close to TOM, so no surprise really. If I continue on this binge-free day, I'll end up eating 23.5 POINTS. Got to check my eTools to confirm, but I know it's not more than 25 because I planned accordingly. Planning has been so helpful.

So, with all the talk earlier about possibly having an omelet for dinner tonight, I decided to have one for breakfast tomorrow. I've already pre-portioned my veggies and cheese and will just have to measure oil and egg whites. It'll end up more like a scramble, but that's perfect for me! The omelet alone will get in 1 serving of oil, 6 servings of veggies, 1 dairy serving, and 1 protein serving. I planned out lunch and dinner as well. Lunch will knock out another dairy serving as well as a 2nd protein serving and whole grains. Dinner will be more whole grains (pasta) plus a 3rd protein serving, more veggies, and my last oil serving. Sounds perfect to me!
