Hello!:goodvibes
We are traveling to WDW for Christmas/NYE. We have all of our ADRs booked, but are still up in the air on a resort. There is still availability at both CBR and CSR and I cannot seem to decide which one to pick.
We usually stay deluxe, but are choosing a moderate this time to save a little $$, especially since we were just in WDW last week. Traveling with me are DH, DD21, DD19, DD11, and my two nieces (19 and 18). We will be getting two rooms.
My biggest concern is relying on the bus system for transportation at this very busy time of year. Can anyone tell me their bus experience with these two resorts? Is the food court better at one over the other?
I am pretty much decided on CBR or CSR, but I am open to the other moderates too. I know I need to make this decision very soon!!
Thanks for any advice!

I have stayed CSR many times. I love it. We have found bus service to be good. I think it has four pick up locations, I would recommend waiting at stop two or three. Less people load here. The most people load near the lobby. The rooms are large, the beds are queens. The pepper market is one of my favorite places to eat.

POFQ.....new beds ...newly refurbed rooms, short walks, boat to DTD or POR, decent food court, no conventions, more disney feel, first bustop at por/pofq. Carraige rides,.......use all POR ammenties also. sister resorts share.

nightly entertainment. Jazz bar and piano bar.

We liked CSR but didnt feel like disney. seems like an off-site nice condo. convention resort,...food court can be confusing the way they do it.

CBR is nice tropical feel but alot of walking. only double beds here...

remember no balconies or patios at any of these...

We just stayed at CSR last month and loved it. Until CBR gets queen beds, I'm not planning to stay there, but it does look like a lovely resort. Have a great trip.

We have found the busses at CBR to be OK in May and June; can't speak to Christmas week but would expect everyplace to be crowded.

To me there is a big difference in food courts. CSR no longer has a traditional food court at breakfast or lunch - Pepper Market is a 1 CS credit buffet for both of those meals. If you are using DDP credits it's a great deal. But if you wanted to pay oop - or if 1 person wanted to purchase a full CS meal breakfast platter while another person in the group just wanted to use a snack credit for a bagel, you can no longer do that and sit together at CSR. CSR has expanded their grab-n-go location to offer a few more choices, but it has little to no seating of its own. And the person with the full Pepper Market meal has to stay inside the separate Pepper Market seating area.

Especially since you have a larger group where people may want different quantities of food from the food court, I think CBR is your better option.

We love CSR and would stay there anytime, if we still fit in one room! It is probably just perception but the rooms seemed slightly larger to us than the rooms at POR, for example. The pool is amazing and on a par with a deluxe resort, which may not be important to you at this time of year. We found the bus service good, but honestly never really ate at the resort other than snacks, so I can't really speak to the food court issue. We did feel though that CSR had the most deluxe feel of the mods we have experienced.

We haven't stayed at CSR, but we loved CBR. The tropical atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. I can't speak for the bus service during the holidays as we stayed there during the summer, but we had a great experience with the bus service. There are 4 or 5 internal bus stops, but no sharing with any other resort and it was always a quick trip to every park and DTD. We thought the food court was great with a lot of variety. My choice would be CBR as CSR doesn't appeal to us as far as theme/decor. Good luck.

The bus service can be good or bad at any resort on any given day, so its a non factor. Drivers change, routes change daily.

As far as food courts go, they are both good but Pepper Market at CSR has a different concept that some people aren't fond of. You are seated by a server who gets you drinks, and you go up and order and get a card that they mark off what you order and you pay at the end. You are also expected to tip the server 10%. However, they have a very good food and many options.

I would probably pick CSR over CBR because CBR is in need of refurbs, IMO. CSR has queen beds while CBR still has double, and that would be an important factor for us.

Thank you all for your input!

I have decided on CBR, mostly based on my daughters! They seem to like the theming more. I didn't know about the style of Pepper Market, so I appreciate those who told me that it is more of a buffet. I think CBR will have more options that will appeal to all of my group.

Thanks again, and Happy Holidays!
