Hi, In reading all of the posts about the CBR closing and the relocation of all of us CBR reservation holders, I am wondering something........

Alot of you have mentioned that it is best for us to wait for Disney to call us because of the chance of a "possible upgrade" at an equal or discounted price. But everyone has mentioned that the upgrades will be either for WL or AKL.
Is there a particular reason that these two deluxes would be offered over the others?

Just curious

my only thought is that these are the two "cheapest" deluxe resorts, if judged by the new AP discoun rates. of course, another thought would be that these were the two resorts with the lowest occupancy rates last year

AKL and WL are generally less expensive than the other deluxe resorts. These resorts have smaller rooms and only have bus transportation to the parks. The other deluxe have monorail, boat or walking access to at least one park.

I've heard these resorts called "intermediate deluxes" or something like that. They seem to be quite a bit less expensive than GF, Poly, and Contemporary. Maybe because they are not linked by the monorail (just a guess!).

Thankyou !
That makes sense then ;)

My curious little mind just had to ask, kwim???

So, now I guess I'll go reasearch both the AK and AKL "just incase" I get offered a upgrade offer.
My favorite places is getting stuffed with all the new folders I am creating dedicated to this resort research :bounce:
